Books

On my iPad

I finished all of the JD Robb “In Death” series books.  Thanks to all of you, because I never would have known about this series if you hadn’t recommend it.   I read every single one, including her newest!  As far as I’m concerned J.D. Robb can’t write them fast enough.  Once you start with these books you can’t stop and now that I’ve finished them I’m going through withdrawal.

Currently on my iPad is a series of Louise Penny books, the chief inspector Gamache novels.  I started with “A Fatal Grace” (should have started with “Still Life” but didn’t know it was the first in the series) and almost gave up on the book because the first 4 chapters jumped around a bit too much for me.  It didn’t grab me until Gamache entered the story.  I’m enjoying the books and I’ll be reading”The Cruellest Month” on the plane to Portland.  There are more books in this series so I can keep going for awhile!   Again, I’d never have known about this series if  you hadn’t  recommended it.

I’ve created a section under “Categories” on the side column of my blog called “Books To Read”.  So many of you contributed to my reading list through your comments I thought I should save them for future reading.   What I didn’t realize is that once a post is listed under “Categories” the comments disappear and all of your suggestions are no longer there.

The good news is that I started a list from your suggestions and I saved it.  It’s in random order with some of your comments added in, so please forgive the layout.  If you search for a new books to read like I do, you’ll find suggestions in this PDF.

Books to read from my blog readers

If you’ve read something else that should be on the list, let me know.

Enjoy your week!

Well, I’m going to add my 2 cents worth. I love reading and have read a lot of the authors on your list. I have also found some new ones to try on your list. HOWEVER – my favorite author is Diane Chamberlain. I cannot put her books down. Everyone is one that you have to read to find out what happens. Just saying! And thanks for the great list of new authors to try. I also love your idea of have them on CD to listen to when sewing. Thanks!
