Quilts

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Welcome to our Moda designer holiday blog hop!  You’ll be hopping around a bit this week visiting 4 to 5 blogs per day.  Each designer you visit will have a new sampler block and recipe for you.   Print them out on card stock, package them up and you’ve got a great little gift for yourself or a quilter friend!  You’ll find a PDF link for my block and recipe below:

Flying Coaster Block from Bunny Hill!

You’ll need just 3 fabrics 9″ x 22″ to make this block;  one dark, one medium and one light!  I’m crazy about pinwheels and stars so I combined them to give you this block!

Make up a quilt using 12 of these blocks and put sashing in-between each block.  You’ll have a quilt that looks great in any fabric.

Or, maybe you’ll want to wait, choose your favorite blocks and create a masterpiece like this one from Moda…

And then when you’re done sewing these blocks together you can start cooking!

Here’s my recipe for Peach Cobbler but you may have to substitute apples for the peaches if you make it in December…

If you get busy sewing now you should have these blocks finished in time for Christmas!

Thanks for the block and cobbler recipe. I could use a big slice of cobbler right now! Happy Holidays and thanks for all your contributions to the world of quilting. Quilting brings to many of us peace and satisfaction.

My sister has made several of your blocks and her applique is beautiful! Mine is a work in progress, hoping to improve.
    Thanks for sharing.
    You are a peach!
