Halloween & Fall,  Quilts

Happy 4th!!!

Happy 4th of July everyone!  Henrietta’s here a day early to help us celebrate.  I hope you have a bit of time this weekend to get started on block seven.  Two more blocks to go and then we’ll be onto the borders!  We’re so close to finishing!

Be sure to click on the “Sewing with Kids” tab at the top if you have a little free time this weekend to spend with your child.  The first project is up along with some suggestions on how to teach  kids to use the sewing machine.  If you have a child or a grandchild who wants to sew this is going to be so much fun!  When you see this button in a blog post you’ll know I’ve posted another project.

If you’ve read about my husband’s fishing expedition I have GOOD news.  Saturday was a CATCH SALMON day and he’s coming home with 45 lbs.  Thank you Canada for making him so happy!  Tired…but happy.  They also flew the salmon back to the airport for him.  He flew by helicopter, but I think the Salmon went first class.  It was waiting in customs.

Have a wonderful 4th of July!

Hugs,

Anne

Anne, Don’t you hate it when your salmon travels beter than you do? This is such a great ‘fish tale’ –thanks to you (and your hubby) for sharing it with us!

Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July!!

Are you inviting us all for dinner? What a great catch. My husband was a fisherman also and it was always great to get fresh caught fish when he went on his trips to Canada. Thanks for the newest block. I better get going on making the blocks since the end is in sight. I have been printing the directions and putting them in a safe place so that I can work on them soon. I think soon is here.

Thanks so much for the Sewing With Kids! My granddaughter is a bit young, 4 or so but my grandson is 6. He’s a more likely candidate.I’ll have to change the hearts on the pincushion to trucks but otherwise it seems like we should have fun. Hope your 4th is a very festive one. Will you be eating salmon? =!=

Oh, Anne, my 7-year-old granddaughter, Abigail, and I are so excited about Sewing With Kids. I was visiting with her in Washington last week and she picked out some embroidery floss to make the little pincushion we saw on the website. I was going to just try and put it together on my own. I was so excited to sew the pattern this morning — this is great! I’ll be going back up there in a couple of months and I will have it all ready to go — thanks to you and your beautiful granddaughters — what fun!
