• Bitsy Says Thank You!

Bitsy says thank you to all of you who may have come to my blog sometime during the past few weeks to see if I’ve posted something new.  Thank you for for being so patient when you saw her photo over and over.  Thank you for understanding how busy her mom is, and how she just nevvvvvver lets her blog go this long unless she’s tethered to the computer.  And well, thank you for looking at Bitsy and not saying “oh it’s still that darn dog”.  If you did she forgives you.  She’s been suffering from attention deprivation too. Sweet relief is on the way!  This week I can play…

  • Today is Bitsy’s Birthday!

I’m never too busy to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Bitsy!  She’s 15 today! Oh my goodness I love her so much! She’s gray, deaf, and has a few more scars, but someday we’ll  be just like her. Only, We won’t have a button on our backs! Happy Birthday Bitsy Button Sutton! Go ahead stand in the grass and bark to have me carry you inside.  I don’t mind at all! You’ve earned it! XXX OOO  from your mom!

  • It’s October!

Christmas has arrived at Bunny Hill!  Well, at least “The Night Before Christmas”!  Did you know that this was the poem that changed the way we think of Santa Claus? “The Night Before Christmas” brought us Santa’s mode of transportation, how he looks and even the names of his reindeer!  Clement Moore originally wrote it for his children!  Imagine having a father who could write poems like this!  And now almost 200 years later it’s still a universal poem that children love to hear! So many variations of this poem have been published over the ages.  Hard to know exactly what the original poem was.  One thing for sure;  Santa’s bag…

  • Purple, Yellow and Orange

Purple, yellow and orange?  Who would have thought these are carrots!  I’ve been munching away all weekend on yellow and purple carrots!  They are yummy!  Amazing thing, when you bite into the purple carrot it’s purple on the outside and orange in the center!  Heirloom carrots?  Maybe!  Farmer’s market carrots for sure and those farmers are pretty smart.  Wouldn’t Peter Rabbit love these? Yesterday Margot from The Pattern Basket emailed to tell me she she designed a quilt using my Lily & Will fabric! I was so excited because  I love everything that Margot does.  She has a great style and sense of design and it was such an honor…

  • Advance Notice

Designing with Lily & Will was more fun than you can ever imagine.  Usually when I’m working with a line of fabric I tire of it by the end;  not so with this fabric.  I think it’s because it’s such a versatile line. Put the baby aside for a minute (carefully and just for a minute) and think about the things you can make for yourself with Lily & Will.  That’s right, make something for you!  Try some pillows, table runners, dresses, totes or how about this “Park Lane” quilt? “Park Lane” is one of my favorite quilts.   It’s so easy you’ll love making this quilt and just look at…

  • Playing With Fabric!

Finally……………… after much waiting, sample yardage of Lily & Will II arrived at Bunny Hill on Friday!  Lily & Will II!   When I opened the box the first words out of my mouth were “oh my gosh, it’s so beautiful”!  The fabric feels like heaven and the colors are yummy; aqua and butter yellow like only Moda can do!    We’ve cut it up and sent it off for samples to be made!  We move fast when there’s only 4 weeks from start to finish!  Pre-market days mean long hours and lots of work, but sewing with new fabric is something we never tire of! What is it about new fabric that we…
