Did you get what you wanted for Christmas?

Did you get what you wanted for Christmas?  Mooch did!  She got a pink catnip mouse and became a wild beast on Christmas Eve.  It took her less than 1/2 hour to tear off the tail and pull out the stuffing.  Catnip all over the floor and, after she was done rolling in it, all over the house!

If you judge a good Christmas by the amount of laughter in the house, this year was a great one! My granddaughters and I made red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for Christmas Eve dessert.  I think there was more frosting on them than the cupcakes, but a lot of laughing and fun went on in the kitchen.  They were yummy!

And now we’re down to the last week of 2010!   Many of you are finishing up quilts and some of you  have sent me photos!  I love seeing what you’ve done.  Several weeks ago Brigette showed me a quilt on Moda Bake Shop designed by Stephanie Roman.  When I saw the design I fell it love with it and when I realized it was designed by Stephanie I loved it even more!  Not only is Stephanie sweet, she’s so talented!

Then one of my blog readers, Deborah Pruden, sent me a photo of a quilt she made using my fabric from Lily & Will.  She used Stephanie’s pattern! Isn’t it a small world? Don’t you love her quilt?

And Snowbound quilts are getting finished!  All the way from Italy comes this beautiful version from Agatha!

And just look at these other photos she sent!  You’ll know the one that captured my heart when you see it…

Thanks for sharing Deborah and Agatha!  I love the quilts.

FYI,  I’ve just added some patterns that are being discontinued at 50% off to my web site.  If you see a pattern that you’ve been thinking about buying now is the time!  3 pages of patterns at 50% off.

And have you seen the Lily & Will II advance precuts I’ve added to my web site?  I have a very LIMITED number, but if you love the yellow or aqua you can buy it now before it ships to the stores.  You’ll find some Lily & Will II under “what’s new“!

Happy last Monday in 2010 everyone!

Anne

It’s finally a Quilt!

Snowmen are coming to town this holiday season!   It’s Snowbound time at Bunny Hill!  There’s nothing like finishing a quilt and being able to finally use it!  If you’ve joined me in making Snowbound, I hope you’ll enjoy yours as much as I’m enjoying mine!

I’ve gathered up a few of my favorite snowmen and Snowbound is hanging in my dining room for the holidays.  Come on in!

They key to a good display is to vary the height. You can easily create height with a few empty boxes, some scraps of your favorite quilting fabric, ribbon and pins.  You can reuse the fabric after Christmas so don’t worry about giving up your favorite fabric!  If you have a few cake stands, get them out.  If not, just use boxes!

Enlarge the photo below and you’ll see I’ve used tiny applique pins in place of tape to wrap the packages.  I pressed the fabric after it was on the box.

If you don’t have enough ribbon you can piece what you have with pins! No one will notice when your display is complete!

Of course I used my Lily & Will  fabric to wrap the boxes!

To complete the look I filled a vintage dough bowl on my dining room table with red Christmas balls and blue & ivory candles…

Even the little lamb on the hutch got a blue box to stand on!

Being Snowbound just doesn’t get any better!

Hurry and maybe you can finish your Snowbound quilt.  I can’t wait to see them all!  Email me photos or post your photos to my Flickr group!  Sharing is the most fun of all!

Hugs,

Anne

To Market and Back!

Did you miss me?  I sure missed all of you!  I feel like I’ve been gone forever!  Quilt market was fun, fun, fun but I am sure glad to be back home. I was greeted by the tail waggers club the minute I walked in the door.  Both the President and the Vice President of the tail waggers club were EXCITED to see me!

When we arrived in Houston we were greeted with 90 degree weather and when we left we had 4 inches of rain and thunderstorms.  They do things extreme in Texas!

So on with the photos!  Here I am, the chief  Bunny, taking the famous Pioneer Woman bathroom shot at the Hilton.  It really works, you can stand in front of a mirror and take a photo!  Have you ever tried this?

Here’s what our booth looked like when we arrived at the convention center;  a blank space with a few poles and really ugly drapes. Stacks of boxes filled with embellishments were stacked in the aisles waiting  for us to begin our transformation.  Opps, wait!  We can’t find a box cutter.  You’d think after all the markets we’ve done that would be first on the list.  Maybe next time!  I had to use my tiny little manicure scissors to open the boxes.

We grab some ladders and started right in.  We went from what you see above, to what you see below in a day 1/2… We worked our hardest on the first day of set up so that we’d have it easier on the last day.  I was glad we did because Moda had a schoolhouse for all the designers on the second day of set up.   More on that later!

Then it was Sample Spree night and the next day was the opening of market!  Day 1 is my very favorite day.  I get to see so many of you and photo after photo is taken.

Here I am with Mita from Patchwork Cottage in Lawrenceville, GA

The famous John aka, Quilt Dad

Cindi from Stitch Studios and Natalie from Cinderberry Stitches!

Barri from Bareroots! Yes, she is as pretty as her stitchery!

And Jennifer my sweet friend and editor of American Patchwork & Quilting!

Humm, sure was a lot of smiling going on in my booth!  My friend Anne Bryson (she comes to all the markets with me), was taking all the pictures so I only got a few of her.

Go on over to her blog and tell her you want a new post!  It’s been over a year since her last one!

And now it’s time for the next Snowbound block!  This month just flew by for me, how about you?  Here I am with block number eleven and it seems like I just gave you block number ten!    Were you able to keep up?  Are you ready for the holidays?

My poor husband is not even thinking about the holidays yet and little does he know I have plans for him.  I need the Christmas decorations out early so I can decorate with Snowbound for the next newsletter.  He hates it when I start a project like this so I think I’ll keep it quiet until a few days before.  I’m feeling a bit sorry for him, but Snowbound must go on!

While I was at market he painted our “green” bedroom, back to white (the color we started with).  Needless to say he was really happy about that.  He happened to be doing a load of laundry and put a full paint can on top of the washing machine, lid open.  The machine vibrated and the gallon of open paint fell off the washing machine.  Had I been here I could have warned him…maybe.   Don’t you think I’m smart waiting to tell him he has to help with decorations?

Have a great day everyone!  I’ll be back with more pictures!

Hugs,

Anne

Snowbound Block Eight!

Block eight is here!   Another month has gone by and now Mr. August is arriving in a wagon.  As you can see my “Snowbound” is quilted and ready for Christmas!  Yours will be too in no time at all! I hope you’ve been working on your Irish Chain blocks and assembling your quilt by rows so you can see it coming together!

Tell me where the year has gone?  Did you notice it flying by?  Only four more snowbound blocks left, can you believe it?

We’ll be decorating for Christmas before you know it!

If you received my newsletter this morning you know it’s “I Love My Pet” month at Bunny Hill!  Email or send me a picture of your pet and you’ll be entered in the drawing to win this basket full of goodies!  Email your photos to info@bunnyhilldesigns.com .

Here at Bunny Hill we are surrounded by pets as most of you know!

Bitsy is back to normal, her stitches are healing fine, and she even wants to play.  But she still won’t walk.  It’s not that she can’t walk, she can walk just fine, she’s just refusing to.

Can you believe it?  Just look at this face!

Or this one with her ears up.

Can this be the face of a spoiled smart dog?

She has a stub of a tail that she wags at just the right moment.  She makes sure you’re looking first.

Chelsea’s getting worried that you might forget how “cute” she is with all this attention going to Bitsy.  She wanted a few of her pictures in the blog post

And Mooch?  She’s not worried a bit.  After all, she’s a cat!

So love your pet and show me how cute they are!  You might see them on my blog!  How fun is that?

And now for the next hint you’ve been waiting for…

Hints to help you guess my Fall Market Block of the month theme!

1.   Christmas with some pieced blocks

2.  A little bit of snow.  White snow NOT pink snow.

Have a great day everyone!

Back soon,

Hugs,

Anne
