Sewing with friends

When you start the day with flowers and friends it just doesn’t get any better……unless you add sewing to the mix!  Friday was Mollie Makes day at Bunny Hill and we spent the day sewing with friends!

My friend Chickie brought show and tell;  beautiful Scrappy Plate blocks as only Chickie can do.  She’s appliqued them on linen and when she’s finished the applique she’ll add a crochet flower and covered button to the center of each block.  I can’t wait to see her finished quilt!

Chickie’s project for the day was  the fabric clutch featured in Mollie Makes Issue #14.

Here’s the fabric she used for the clutch…

…and the almost finished clutch!

She has to wait for the hardware she ordered from here to arrive in the mail before she can finish her clutch. All she has to do is glue on the clutch handle, add the chain and her clutch is finished.

My friend Nireko made these adorable embroidered macaroon needle cases.  She bought the needle kits when she was in Japan.  When she saw the embroidery in issue #7 she knew it would be perfect for the cases!

Robin and I decided to make the felt Llamas from issue #12.

We added rings to the top so they could be attached to a purse or backpack.

Kim made the little elephant brooch.

We had such a fun day.  If you own any issues of Mollie Makes, take some time to make one of the projects. You’ll be glad you did!

Mollie Makes, Jeanne d’ Arc and Redwork Kits

Right in the middle of all the crazy sewing going on in the studio, Mollie Makes issue #13 and Jeanne d’ Arc Living May arrived! There’s always some excitement when that happens but when they both arrive on the same day it’s really hard to get any  work done.

Mollie Makes…

Just look at buttons on the cover of Mollie Makes!  Little red rose buttons that will be the perfect accent for a sewing project.  I don’t know how they think of what to include for cover projects but I sure do love them!

And the little pooches on the cover are so cute. Have any of you tried needlefelting?  I’ve always been a bit intimidated by those barbed needles but I’d forget about barbs for one of those little dogs.

Or, how about crochet and embroidery?  Just look at this granny square pillow made from scraps of yarn!  SCRAPS!  I had no idea I should be saving yarn scraps.  Directions are inside the magazine.

And little Japanese Embroidery patterns too!  Thank you Mollie Makes for another great issue!

Jeanne d’Arc Living May

Then sit back and relax while you skim the pages of  Jeanne d’Arc Living for the elegant side of life.  I’m always inspired by the decorating and gardening ideas and the May issue is delightful.  144 pages of beautiful articles and photos and NO advertising.  How on earth do they do it?

Redwork Raining Cats and Dogs Kit…

And last but not least we finally have a kit for Redwork Raining Cats and Dogs.  I’ve been waiting and waiting for fabric bundles to arrive.  This fabric is sold out at Moda but somehow they came to my rescue.  The bundles arrived this week and we’ve got  kits!  The kit includes everything you need to make the quilt except backing and floss.

Even the pattern is included, but if you have it already let us know and we’ll deduct it from the cost.

You’ll find Mollie, Jeanne and Redwork on my website.

It’s back to work.  Market it just around the corner and we’re still sewing away.  Can’t wait to show you what we’re sewing on!

Can I interest you in a tattoo?

Can I interest you in a tattoo?  Wait!  Before you say no (or yes) take a look at these!  You’ll find them in the latest issue of Mollie Makes (#10) which arrived at Bunny Hill today!  Embroidered tattoos!  They had me when I saw the wood hoops to display them…so cute!

And how about this not so “granny” square throw? Hurry, grab some yarn!  Says it’s beginner friendly!

This issue of Mollie Makes is filled with great craft ideas and look at what they’ve included on the cover!  Sweet house ribbon!  House ribbon to use in a craft, or tie up a package.

Mollie, you make reading magazines so much fun!

Dang, where did I put those old spools?

Back soon,

Hugs,

Anne

Mollie Makes Magazine!

If you haven’t seen this magazine you’re in for a treat!  Mollie Makes is the best magazine I’ve seen in a long time.  Crafty, decorative, and oh those little craft kits they include with each issue.  How creative can they get?  That’s right, you get a little surprise kit with each issue!

It’s published in England and released for sale in the US several months ago.  It’s so popular it sells out right away.   I love this magazine and I’ve decided to offer it for sale on my website.  Copies are limited but you can pre-order the issue you see above (#6).  Order it now so we can process your order, let our supplier know and hold a copy for you.  It will be shipping very soon!

The Moda blog hop continues so be sure and check out Lynne from Kansas Troubles today!  I hope you are enjoying the hop!  You’ll have a binder filled with free projects by the time it’s finished.  Cute free projects and lots of giveaways…doesn’t get much better.
