• Spring Fever!

Sunny, warm, and beautiful.  That was our weather this weekend and I actually got outside for a bit!  Strange feeling since I’ve been in the studio for weeks.  Another storm is due on Tuesday and we may get some hail!  Hail in the middle of April!  Don’t know how the weatherman knows this in advance.  I love roses and every year I plant 5 or 6 more rose bushes.  It’s finally starting to pay off.  My roses are all starting to bloom, so if we get hail on Tuesday I hope it will be gentle.      A quick trip to our local  farmer’s market was called for.  They have the best bread!  And veggies of…

  • Photo Shoot

Since the photo shoot last week, and the sweet treats that arrived in the mail, my life has been turned upside down.  Quilter’s Home magazine was here to take photos of my house for an upcoming issue. NOT just the studio, but the whole house! They were everywhere and it took hours and hours.  Luckily for me, the photography team were my good friends Gregory and Elena.  They are wonderful to work with! If you haven’t seen a photo shoot before, it’s amazing to watch. There are cords everywhere, lights all over, multiple tripods, not to mention the photographers doing their staging thing.  Mooch wanted in every photo.  At one point we had to lock her…

  • Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

I feel like I should be baking shamrock cookies or something exciting like that.  But yesterday this brown truck brought a box of sweets like you’ve never seen!  My heart skipped a beat and I could hardly breathe!  The box is filled with the sweetest of sweets and I’m in heaven. I know, it’s so bad of me not to show you yet!  I will in a few days I promise, but today I have to spend St. Patrick’s day cleaning.  Tomorrow is photo shoot day at Bunny Hill.   Quilter’s Home magazine is coming! In order to make up for my lack of sharing, we’re having a St Patrick’s day sale at Bunny Hill. …

  • Cat Photos

If you have a cat, chances are you have some great cat photos.  Cats are naturally curious, sleep most of the time, and are easy to photograph.  Case in point…Mooch… Mooch loves the backyard.  She goes out on a leash.   She thinks she’s a dog, so it’s very appropriate. This picture was taken with my IPhone… And this one?  I have no idea how I did this…double exposure? And if you stop by Bunny Hill for a visit, chances are you’ll never see our twins…Topsy & Turvy They are rescue cats and very, very shy. Topsy… Turvy… And another rescue we named Lucky, appropriate name… He came to us during a storm;  wet and obviously starving… If…

  • Cherry Blossom Time

It’s cherry blossom time and the area I live in is in full bloom.  Mother nature is putting on a show! Amazing how beautiful it is right now. To think that in a few months these blossoms will be cherries.  People will come from all over to pick the sweet fruit.  The farmers will open fruit and vegetable stands, and fresh produce will be sold, picked fresh from the earth.  Mother nature knows what to do.  She provides us with sweet, sweet treats. The area I live in is new housing, surrounded by old farms. Farms with freshly ploughed rows of earth and beautiful rows of trees. It’s inspiring just to see it!  My assistant…

  • Why I Love My Cat

It’s early in the morning: the sun hasn’t come up, just a desk light on next to my computer.  The studio is quiet. I’m checking emails and catching up on things left undone from the night before. I suddenly realize my sweet cat, with the awful name (Mooch) has come to keep me company.  She’s been there for awhile, before I really become aware of her.  She’s made her bed on a notepad and pen next to my computer.    I grab my camera, sitting there on my desk, and I capture the moment without waking her!  She opens one eye and then closes it right away as if to say,…
