• Waiting for fabric

It’s the first day of Autumn and normally I wouldn’t even notice its arrival.  I should be heavy into market sewing because Quilt Market starts on October 24th.  Yet, here I sit waiting for my sample yardage to arrive and enjoying a touch of Fall weather.  It should arrive around September 29th. and there will be a lot of stress sewing once it comes. I’ll share pictures of my new fabric line as soon as I can, but first you have to promise NOT to be shocked.  There’s not even a touch of pink in it.  I can’t believe it myself!  Here’s a little hint to lead you down the Bunny Hill next fabric line…

  • It’s the kitty block!

It’s time for the kitty block on the Fat Quarter Shop Snapshots quilt along!  “Here kitty kitty” will get you a surprising welcome at my house, so this block is the perfect one for me. Oh wait, that’s the wrong picture!  I was going to put this one in later when I told you what kitty inspired my block.  Oh well, It’s better you know right up front. This block was inspired by my Moocher’s cat.  I know you’re saying “what a name for a cat”, but remember she’s one of a kind.  You can read her story here.   Moochers was in the studio with me this morning while I was…

  • Hope Blooms

If you’re a fan of my Kindred Spirits fabric line, and you love pink and white, I’ve designed a quilt for The Fat Quarter Shop that I think you’ll love.  We’re calling it “Hope Blooms”.   It’s a quilt designed especially for breast cancer awareness and one that would make a wonderful gift for someone recently diagnosed.  It has a touch of applique combined with one of my favorite quilt blocks, The Log Cabin! I’ve always loved the log cabin block and I’ve spent a lot of time in the past trying to make each block perfect.   This time it was easy because of the Creative Grids 8” Log Cabin…

  • Kindred Spirits has shipped

Moda started shipping Kindred Spirits last Friday!  You’ll be able to find it in quilt shops by next week.  When Moda says shipping in August they really mean it.  UPS trucks are carrying United Notion boxes all over the country filled with Kindred Spirit fabric.  Hey UPS guys, the heavier the box, the more Kindred Spirit fabric inside…it’s a good thing!  Stack up those boxes on your dolly and roll them right in. As soon as I heard Kindred Spirits had shipped, I started tracking the boxes coming to Bunny Hill.  I can’t believe it!  I leave for Wisconsin on Wednesday for a week of sewing fun with friends, and UPS…

  • Snapshots Quilt Along

Here’s my version of block number eight of the Fat Quarter Shop’s Snapshots Quilt.   I think this is my favorite block in the whole quilt.  Of course I say that with each block!   You can find the pattern on the Jolly Jabber blog along with Kimberly’s s video on how to make this block. Oh wait a minute, I think maybe the apron is my favorite block…or maybe the tea kettle! Are you making this quilt?   What’s your favorite block so far?  Only four more blocks to go and the cat is up next.  Here kitty, kitty! Anne

  • Snow Happy Hearts for August

Snow Happy Hearts August August is a month that’s hard to define.   It’s in-between holidays and still controlled by heat waves here in the US.  It’s the month I hope hurries by.  So what’s a snowman to do during the month of August?  Mine is going to the beach!  It’s time for some play this month and he’s ready. If you’ve been thinking about pre-ordering a Merci la Vie quilt kit, now is the time to do it.  Moda gets the award for beautiful kits and the Merci la Vie kit is no exception!  These will be arriving soon from Moda!  They are gorgeous! I’ll be talking more about this quilt…
