Fat Quarter Baby
We had some fun playing around with The Fat Quarter Shop’s new book “Fat Quarter Baby“. It’s a book filled with 20 of the cutest baby quilts ever! Ten quilts for little girls and 10 for little boys.
If you’re looking for a quick and easy quilt for a baby boy, “Andrew” the whale is perfect. He looks cute in so many fabrics. I wanted to see how he’d look with a bit of a modern twist, so I tried him in taupe and grey using Moda’s basic “Dottie”. I love dots, and it’s been fun to see these little whales come together.
My assistant Sue has a new grandson, so she’s been making the “Andrew” quilt for him using Sweetwater’s “First Crush” fabric line along with a grey Moda Bella background. Don’t you love this paisley whale?
Or, how about this little whale, also from “First Crush” by Sweetwater?
My friend Nancy made up “Andrew” using a blue and yellow colorway. Jennifer Cabral finished it with some darling quilting!
Follow along on The Fat Quarter Shop’s blog hop this week and you’ll see every quilt in this new book, Fat Quarter Baby. It’s a great book to have in your library. You never know when you’ll need a quick and easy baby quilt!

These are all just darling! I love making baby quilts, recently made a nautical one which was so much fun. Love seeing all the possibilities for this cute whale just by changing the fabrics.

Andrew is adorable! My nephews are starting to get married and have babies, so I might NEED this book.

Oh my goodness (I know…I say that all the time) but these baby quilts are so adorable! A “Dottie” whale? A paisley whale? And a big blue & yellow, whale? These look like so much fun. I love kids quilts – I think I’m gonna need this book.
So cute!!
