You know you haven’t been posting…

You know you haven’t been posting much when you have to login to get back into your blog!   WordPress is asking me who on earth I am!  It’s me, it’s me WordPress.  I’m still here!

Guess what?  Moda has a new designer!  Welcome Aneela Hoey!   Hop on over to her blog and leave a comment. She has such a cute style! I have a feeling we are going to love her new fabric line!  The announcement came from our own Moda Lissa.  Moda Lissa keeps all of the news from Moda locked up in her head until it’s time to spill the beans. That’s right, everything is inside her pretty head.  Then bit by bit she lets it out.  She’s amazing!

Just look at this ad Lissa put together for Lily & Will in “Quilt’s n More” magazine!  I tell you these two babies are so SPOILED!  They’ve gotten only the best from Moda, and I hear their mother can’t stop smiling!  See that pink plaid as the background?  It’s so cute!  And pink!  Be sure and add some to your stash.  You’ll be seeing it a lot at Bunny Hill and who knows when you’ll need it.

You can meet these beautiful babies personally at a quilt shop near you in just a few weeks.  The bundles of joy (fat quarter bundles, jelly rolls, layer cakes, and charm packs) are in some stores right now, and the yardage is getting ready to ship from the Moda warehouse!  I’ll try and tell you when it ships so we can track the UPS trucks!

Have you visited the Moda Bake Shop lately?  If not, you’re missing a free LILY & WILL project!  It’s designed by a new Moda Bake Shop Chef, Melissa Corey .  Thanks Melissa!  Where did you find that perfect little baby for the center of the quilt?

Snowbound Update:

Snowbound Block Number Nine has been proofed by the best and we still missed something.  Thank you Susan for telling me  I forgot to include the directions for the fringe on Snowbound Block Nine!  For all of you who have yet to do this block (guilty ones please stand up), I used a straight stitch for the scarf fringe and two strands of floss, DMC #754.  Stem stitch would be great too, and I matched my floss to the scarf fabric.  It would be pretty cute if you used different colors of floss for the fringe,  like when you unravel a piece of wool.  Hey, why not use a piece of wool for the scarf?

It’s back to work or I’ll never make it to market in October.  I’ll be back soon I promise!

Fillers

What are  fillers?  They’re photos you use when you don’t have time to blog!  Photos that make you think I’m still here when in actuality I’m  in the background working like a maniac to get ready for market.  Yep, that’s me the market maniac, along with many other designers I’m sure.

You may get more of these fillers this week. Can’t promise they’ll all be pink.  Maybe I’ll try another color.  Oh who am I kidding I don’t have any other colors!

I have  a new fabric line due for spring, quilts to get ready for this market, and patterns to write.   It’s always like this just before market.   But when you see what I call “fillers” you’ll know I’m still here.

I’ll do the giveaway soon for all you good guessers out there.  It’s a small little group so your odds are great.  If I remember right it’s around 140.  One in about 140 chance of winning!

I’ll be back soon I promise.

Hello September!

It’s September 5th and if you read my newsletter today you know that we have 2 winners in the “I Love My Pet” contest!  What an exciting end to a wonderful month!

Congratulations Franklin & Terry!

Terry give Franklin a hug.  He won you a great first prize!

Then, drum roll please….

We also gave out a second prize!

Chelsea loves kids and she thought this picture was the cutest ever! So we added a second place prize for Ronnie and his best friend Jack!  Alyssa, Ronnie’s mom, submitted this photo and I think you’ll agree it’s a winner!

Speaking of winners, I had a dickens of a time trying to get Chelsea to pick one.  Truth be told I think she was a bit intimidated by the rabbit.   She was not about to put her paws up on that bunny.   The star of Bunny Hill has a mind of her own!

I even tried Bitsy and Mooch.  No luck at all!

I’m surrounded by pets at Bunny Hill and not one would co-operate!

Life is never dull around here! I had to go to a a random number drawing instead!

And now to bring our pet contest to a close, I have one more photo for you.  Meet “Sis” who belongs to Bernice, a special customer.  She sent us this darling photo in the mail.  Thank you Bernice for taking the time to share Sis with us!  She is adorable!  Love that little pink tongue!

This Pet contest been so much fun!  Thank you again to each and everyone!

And now are you ready for a bit more quilting?

It’s Snowbound Time!

Block Eight of Snowbound is ready to go!

If you’ve been keeping up with the Snowbound blocks, your quilt should be looking something like this:

Don’t jump ahead and look at block number ten! You didn’t really think I’d show it to you did you? You’ll have to wait until October!.  Three more blocks to go! It’s not too late if you haven’t already started!

New Notion!

I love notions and I love to share my favorite ones with you.  I tried this Omnigrid little rotary cutter when I was preparing the templates for my new block of the month.   Smooth templates mean smooth applique!  I fell in love with it.

Any drawing with a straight line, or a slightly curved edge can be cut accurate and smoothly with this little cutter.  It gives you great control and  the blade is pressure sensitive.  It retracts when you lift up the cutter!

Try it when cutting templates for houses, doors, windows, presents, etc. Use a ruler to guide you and cut away!  Then try cutting a curved piece by pressing down on the ruler and turning the template.   You’ll find it here on my web site and I think you’ll love it!

Tiny Town on Sale!

And don’t forget, Tiny Town is on sale this month for 25% off.  This applies to my wholesale customers also!  If you haven’t purchased this quilt, now is the time to do it!

Have a great weekend everyone!  Hope you get a lot of sewing done!

A few more Pets

Saturday is coming up fast and I’ll be announcing the winner of the “I love my pet contest”.  Chelsea is ready, and she’s been practicing choosing a winner.  She’s looked at all the photos, I’ve read her all the emails, and she’s more excited than you can imagine!

Wait!  What’s wrong here!  She can’t be sleeping through all of this can she?  This just can’t be happening.  She has work to do!

Don’t worry;  she’ll wake up for a treat.  She’s very fond of food as you can see.  Our neighbor calls her Super Squirrel and I’m beginning to think the name fits.  She’s about the right size and she’s storing up for winter.  I’ve caught her burying little chew bones lately.

Before I end this parade of photos, I just have to share a few more.  There are hundreds of amazing pictures, and so many wonderful pets!  I never anticipated such a response. I wish I could have featured each and every one.  Hope you enjoy a few more stars!

We’ll be back on Saturday to announce Chelsea’s pick for the winning basket.  She needs her rest!  She’s got a lot of responsibility for such a little dog.

Thank you to each and everyone who submitted photos!
