Just a few squirrely friends
We all have a few squirrely friends don’t we? Ha! Right now all my friends are wondering if I consider them squirrely. The dictionary defines squirrely (yes it’s slang) as being eccentric, flighty and maybe a bit odd. Think about this…Henrietta doesn’t see a thing wrong with being squirrely. Most of her friends are squirrely and so this month I’m giving a new meaning to the word! squir-rel-y: -adjective, fun loving and full of joy. Able to leap tall pumpkins in a single bound. The perfect friend. Block Six: Henrietta’s Squirrely Friends We’re 2/3rds through the quilt with this block not counting the border…have you been keeping up? …

The Beautiful Ones
I’m immediately enticed by applique. I can spot an applique quilt across a stadium (assuming I have my glasses on and I can find a stadium…haven’t been to many but market must be about the size of one!) I saw this quilt the minute I walked in the door…can’t believe I didn’t get a full photo! I think I was too excited about the applique! The flowers were cross-stitched by hand… …and just look at the quilting! Right next to this beauty was this one with the backing painted to match the front… …and the quilting was amazing! Of course this was my favorite because of the subject…enlarge this…

Spring Quilt Market 2011
Oh my goodness, what a whirlwind the last week has been. I met so many wonderful people and saw so many beautiful quilts. I’m in awe of it all! Hugs, hugs, and more hugs; I think that’s what quilt market is about! Salt Lake City I miss you already, but I have to say it feels good to be home. The greeting committee that met me at the front door today made sure I was covered in wet sloppy kisses in no time at all. I got a hug and a kiss from my husband too, but there’s nothing like dog kisses mixed with a little cat fur! Speaking of…

Happy Dance Quilt
Some quilts just make me happy! That’s how I felt when I saw Irene Baldock’s version of “A Tisket, A Tasket”. Irene lives in the UK and sent a photo of her finished quilt. I love the fabrics and colors she used! …and here’s another treat! Irene’s version of Henrietta Whiskers! I’m doing the happy dance Irene! I love your quilts! You can see more versions of Henrietta in my Flickr group. You’ll never know how much you all inspire me! A big thank you to each and everyone of you who are making this quilt! Have a great day everyone! Hugs, Anne

Happy April 5th!
Can you believe it’s April 5th? It’s Henrietta Whiskers day here at Bunny Hill! I have a drop in class today for Henrietta Whiskers at In-Between Stitches in Livermore, California. The nicest group of ladies attend and today I’m doing a demo on machine applique. Have you tried machine applique using DMC machine embroidery 50 wt. thread? It’s so much fun, and of course really, really fast! If you don’t have the DMC thread see if you have any Mettler 60wt. and then click on my tutorial section. You’ll find a simple “how to” for machine applique. We’ll be using machine applique a lot during the next few weeks…
