Henrietta’s Big Party!
Can you believe this is the final block for Henrietta Whiskers? Henrietta’s excited and a little bit nervous too. It’s not everyday that a little squirrel gets to meet so many people! I don’t think either of us ever imagined she would be so popular. I’m giving you block nine and the final quilt a day in advance! If you’re spending this holiday weekend sewing, you might have time to finish the quilt and have it ready to hang for Fall! Henrietta Whiskers Block Nine Henrietta’s busy catching stars and Sophie’s helping! And now that you’re finishing up your quilt (you are finishing aren’t you?) you’re probably wondering what I’ve…

Primitive? Me?
I just received my second issue of Primitive Quilts. Have you seen this new magazine yet? It’s put together by a group of really creative ladies and I do mean creative. It’s so well done I find that I’m enjoying the magazine a lot. I signed up for a 2 year subscription! If you border between “Prim” and traditional style you’ll enjoy this new magazine. To tell the truth I think there’s room for a bit of prim in a shabby chic home. The last few quilt markets I’ve found myself in the booths selling wool and Valdani Pearl Cotton. I’ve always been a fan of wool and well that…

Happy 4th!!!
Happy 4th of July everyone! Henrietta’s here a day early to help us celebrate. I hope you have a bit of time this weekend to get started on block seven. Be sure to click on the “Sewing with Kids” tab at the top if you have a little free time this weekend to spend with your child. The first project is up along with some suggestions on how to teach kids to use the sewing machine. If you have a child or a grandchild who wants to sew this is going to…

How many people does it take to make a quilt?
In the case of Raining Cats & Dogs it took 13 people to finally get the pattern ready to ship! I’m sending BIG hugs and a thank you to everyone who helped me with this quilt: To my husband who’s spent days listening to me go on and on about how it might never get done, to Lissa at Moda who worked miracles in getting me fabric, to Lisa who spent hours helping me with all the graphics, to Anne, Dee, Tina, Sandy, Melissa, and Pauline who helped with the sewing, applique and embroidery in record time, to Lynne who worked wonders with her fabulous quilting, to Florence who’s spent…

Pat Sloan’s Radio goes to Quilt Market!
I adore Pat Sloan. She’s made the quilting world so much fun by hosting her radio show every week. She brings many different talents into our homes and makes us feel like we’re sitting right there with her! American Patchwork and Quilting is now the sponsor of Pat’s show! Congratulations Pat on such a winning combination! Pat was at International Quilt Market in Salt Lake City this year and I had the honor of being interviewed by her! Click on the photo, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the podcast with my name. You’ll hear me, Kimberly Jolly from Fat Quarter Shop, Sandy Klop of…

Nighty Night in the Bunny Hill Booth
A sea of white and gray that goes forever. Sounds beautiful doesn’t it? Dream away because arrival at the convention center is never a pretty sight. The sea of white…polyester curtains. The sea of gray…steel poles. Then someone throws in some purple carpet. Sometimes I arrive with a plan for the booth but not this time. We had extra help from Pauline and Pam who I met through blogging! They worked so hard to help us figure out what to do. They held quilts as I stood back and gave the thumbs up or down. They went up and down that ladder too many times to count and we were…
