• Dresden Progress

This week has been crazy.   Too much to do and not enough time.  I’m working on a new fabric line and it’s taking longer than expected.  A deadline is looming and I’m crossing my fingers I get it off to Moda soon.  I’ll be so happy! In the meantime everyone at Bunny Hill has been working on my Scrappy Plate quilt, helping to get it ready for the quilter.  I can just hear you saying…hey that’s not fair…she has help!  Let’s just say it’s a good thing.  Machine applique has become my best friend and almost all of the plates have been appliqued by machine! If you follow my method…

Redwork Raining Cats & Dogs This week we finally finished the new Redwork Raining Cats and Dogs pattern.   What a great end to 2011.   Say hello to redwork in 2012!   Just look at the fabulous quilting!    Have you ever wondered how to quilt a redwork quilt?  You quilt right through the embroidery!  Most of the stitching will sink into the quilt and you’ll never see it.   You’ll find this pattern available now on my website but you might want to wait until January 5th if you’re thinking about buying it because… A sale is coming! And you get advance notice because you read my blog!  …

  • Please pass the Pumpkin Pie

We’ve spent the last few days making Pumpkin Pie kits here at Bunny Hill.  No calories in this pie even with all the yummy fabrics we’ve been cutting.   Here’s a picture of our pie slice… Doesn’t it look yummy? We’ve got stacks and stacks of Pumpkin Pie… …assembled and ready for baking! If you ordered a Pumpkin Pie kit we’re starting to ship them now. You’ll find these kits on my website, in stock and ready to ship.  The good news is that if you start to make your Pumpkin Pie quilt now, by the time it comes to bake the real thing you’ll be finished and ready to…

  • First week of December!

I started December off at our local hospital early on the morning of December 1st.  My husband had arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder because of a torn rotator cuff.  We had to arrive by 5:45AM. I had envisioned just “us” arriving at that time of the morning, but to my surprise there was a waiting room filled with patients all scheduled for different surgeries.  He was assigned a number and from that point on he could be tracked on the surgery tracker board in the waiting room.  It’s an amazing, color coded, automated system that lets you see where the patient is at all times…in the preop room, in surgery,…

  • Quilt Market Color

International Quilt Market is always so exciting!  Twice a year unbelievable talent comes together under one roof and you can’t help but be inspired!  Walking the aisles = mind overload;  new things are everywhere.  Getting away from my booth to see things can be challenging but oh so much fun!  My focus this time was on color…beautiful, beautiful color…   Can you stand it?  Don’t you want to just dig your hands into those buttons and cut yourself some trims?  I got carried away in the Valdani booth with all that pearl cotton and floss.  I may have to get a job working for Valdani just so I can get…

  • Pumpkin Pie on a Quilt

Pumpkin Pie on a quilt?  It’s acceptable if it’s baked in a Moda Dottie green pie dish with at least one blackbird in the pie.  Oh, one more thing…you have to sing “Sing a Song of Sixpence” while you make this quilt.  If you don’t know the song better Google it. Pumpkin Pie is made from “Basics”! The quilt is made mostly from Moda Basics so you should easily be able to find the fabric!  I’ve put a color fabric guide inside the pattern and also on my website to make your shopping easy.   Wouldn’t it be fun to make this quilt and put your favorite pumpkin pie recipe on…
