• Quilt Market Photos

Moda takes up a big section of quilt market.  Their space is a large rectangle in the center and the Moda designer’s booths surround the rectangle.  See all the crates in the background?  They are filled with all things Moda! When market opens the transformation is amazing! Here’s the Moda family getting ready to greet customers and take orders for all that beautiful Moda fabric! I didn’t get out of the booth much at market so most of my pictures are of the Moda section. Being surrounded by amazing talent and NICE, NICE people was so much fun! Our booth was right next to Blackbird Designs, who just happened to…

  • It’s October!

Christmas has arrived at Bunny Hill!  Well, at least “The Night Before Christmas”!  Did you know that this was the poem that changed the way we think of Santa Claus? “The Night Before Christmas” brought us Santa’s mode of transportation, how he looks and even the names of his reindeer!  Clement Moore originally wrote it for his children!  Imagine having a father who could write poems like this!  And now almost 200 years later it’s still a universal poem that children love to hear! So many variations of this poem have been published over the ages.  Hard to know exactly what the original poem was.  One thing for sure;  Santa’s bag…

  • Purple, Yellow and Orange

Purple, yellow and orange?  Who would have thought these are carrots!  I’ve been munching away all weekend on yellow and purple carrots!  They are yummy!  Amazing thing, when you bite into the purple carrot it’s purple on the outside and orange in the center!  Heirloom carrots?  Maybe!  Farmer’s market carrots for sure and those farmers are pretty smart.  Wouldn’t Peter Rabbit love these? Yesterday Margot from The Pattern Basket emailed to tell me she she designed a quilt using my Lily & Will fabric! I was so excited because  I love everything that Margot does.  She has a great style and sense of design and it was such an honor…

  • You know you haven’t been posting…

You know you haven’t been posting much when you have to login to get back into your blog!   WordPress is asking me who on earth I am!  It’s me, it’s me WordPress.  I’m still here! Guess what?  Moda has a new designer!  Welcome Aneela Hoey!   Hop on over to her blog and leave a comment. She has such a cute style! I have a feeling we are going to love her new fabric line!  The announcement came from our own Moda Lissa.  Moda Lissa keeps all of the news from Moda locked up in her head until it’s time to spill the beans. That’s right, everything is inside her pretty…

  • I have a new family!

It’s possible to have two families and be very, very happy!  I have two families and I can’t stop smiling!  When I saw this ad in “Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine”  I started that “pinch me now” thing I have going.  I’ll never get used to the excitement of joining the wonderful  Moda family!  I’m keeping the ad around so that when my “first” family gives me trouble I can hold it up and threaten to go live with my “second” family.   There must be a little space in that huge Moda warehouse of fabric I could “room” in.  Or, maybe I could live in the room of vintage textiles I’ve heard about.    One can…
