Tag Archives: Moda Designers

Moda has two fun things happening this year that you might not know about yet.  First is a year of contests called “12 Designers, 12 Months, 12 contests”.  If you put all the prizes you could win from entering these contests together,  you’d need a truck to carry it all!

Each of the participating designers have a contest for you to enter.  Each contest is different, so you never know what’s coming, but they do have one thing in common, prizes, prizes, prizes!  Here’s the list of participating designers:

If you’d like to participate in these contests, visit the Moda blog on the 5th of each month to read about that month’s designer.   Post your finished project each month to Instagram or Facebook.  You can choose one contest or try them all.  It’s fun to see what everyone creates and you could win some great prizes!   Just look at what Kaari has created with the assorted blocks her winners created!  You can see the January and February creations by searching Instagram or Facebook with the hashtags #12contestsfrenchgeneral or #12contestssweetwater.  The Me & My Sister challenge has just started and they have the cutest table runner for you to make!  You’ll not only end up with a great table runner, you could also win some prizes!

Blockheads

Next is the Blockheads group.  It’s a free block of the week from 6 designers!  Blockheads starts this week, and you’ll get a total of 48 blocks, one each week for the rest of the year!

Here’s block #1 from Lynne Hagmeier of Kansas Troubles.

You can find the blocks and pattern each week on The Moda Blog!

You can see more pictures on Instagram and Facebook by searching for #modablockheads and they have a Facebook group that they just started called Moda Blockheads.

Thank you Moda for inspiring us!  Because of you we devote every minute we can to quilting!

Have a great weekend filled with fun sewing!

Hugs,

Anne

Moda Blog Hop

Welcome to day one of the Moda BLOG hop!

Moda assigned me the letter B and soon B’s were all I could think about.  I had the biggest urge to pick up Barbara Brackman’s book and look for blocks beginning with B, like Basket, Broken Dishes, Birds in the Air, Bear Paw, Bethlehem Star, and Bird of Paradise.  It’s enough to drive me BATTY.

So instead I got out of bed and biked into Berkeley, wearing baggy burlap bell bottoms, to pick up backing, binding, borders, batting and beige buttons for a baby quilt.  On the way home I bumped into Barbara, Barry, and Billy who were bragging about Bob’s banana bread.  Bob’s a good buddy of mine who bakes the best bread.  His recipe is basic and he actually found it in a beginner’s bagel book.  He adds tons of butter and bakes it in batches.  I begged him to share the recipe but he said he was too busy. Oh well, if his name hadn’t started with a B, I wouldn’t have bothered begging.

I’d better be brief before you think I’m not bright.  I’ve got this B thing bad!  Who knew I’d love B’s as much as I love Bunnies?  Oh boy, this B business is beginning to buzz about bundles.  I’m giving one away.  I may be bagging one up for you on the 28th if you leave me a comment below.   One of you B lovers is going to win a bundle or a layer cake of Winter Wonderland!

To show what you can do with the B pattern from Moda, I made up one and framed it!  I added a bunny of course, I just couldn’t help myself.

Letter B

You’ll find the pattern for the letter B below, along with the pattern for the bunny.

Letter B

B is for Bunny

In honor of the letter “B”, here’s a man I met at market who’s truly a B-eliever…

Could this be Santa?

…doesn’t he look familiar?  He’s holding a pillow I designed using my newest fabric line, Winter Wonderland  (coming soon to a shop near you).

BelieveThe Believe pillow is a free pattern I hope you’ll like.  Just click on the link below for the pattern!  You’ll find a few kits for this pillow on my website.

Print out the letters you find on each designer’s blog during this blog hop, and Moda will show you how to put them into a quilt!  Here’s the links and the schedule:

Thank you Moda, for all the fun things you come up with!  B E L I E V E in Moda and have fun on this hop!

Windsor Lane is in the studio!

The colors remind me of a candy store!  Just yummy!

There’s a scripted alphabet in four different colors and a paisley that will make you go crazy!

I’m wrapped up in fabric and loving every minute.  I can’t wait to show you more!

There is someone in the studio who hates it when I get new fabric…

Chelsea’s feeling so neglected I might have to make her a Windsor Lane treat  :>)

Back soon with more to show!

Anne
