Applique Basics
When Aurifil introduced their new 80wt. thread for applique, Kimberly (Fat Quarter Shop) and I, decided it was a great time to bring you some applique fun using this wonderful thread! Over the next few months The Jolly Jabber blog will be featuring posts on applique, every other Thursday, starting today! I designed 6 applique blocks for this series and The Fat Quarter Shop will have them for free! They’ll include one of the patterns with each of the applique blog posts! Each block can be framed, or you can simply add a border and use it as a mni quilt. They are great practice blocks to keep up your applique skills, and maybe along the way…

Hope Blooms
If you’re a fan of my Kindred Spirits fabric line, and you love pink and white, I’ve designed a quilt for The Fat Quarter Shop that I think you’ll love. We’re calling it “Hope Blooms”. It’s a quilt designed especially for breast cancer awareness and one that would make a wonderful gift for someone recently diagnosed. It has a touch of applique combined with one of my favorite quilt blocks, The Log Cabin! I’ve always loved the log cabin block and I’ve spent a lot of time in the past trying to make each block perfect. This time it was easy because of the Creative Grids 8” Log Cabin…

Designer Mystery has me dreaming of far away places
Take 12 Moda designers, add some Moda fabric, ask each designer to design a block and what do you get? It’s another wonderful, cute, fabulous Designer Mystery Quilt that you’ll find at The Fat Quarter Shop! Rows of houses and snowmen. It’s such a cute quilt, and I designed one of the blocks for it. As the mystery unfolds, you’re going to be glad you joined, because the finished quilt is adorable! You’ll be able to use it the entire winter, and if I were making the quilt I’d be sure to personalize it for my family. Embroider house numbers, street names, or family names on each block and you’ve got a quilt your family…

Snapshots Quilt-Along
If there’s one thing I like to be involved in, it’s something that helps fight cancer. When The Fat Quarter shop asked me to join the Snapshots Quilt Along benefiting St. Jude’s I said yes, yes, yes! Moda Fabrics is one of the sponsors so it’s off to a great start! The blocks in this quilt are precious and make up such a cute, happy quilt. On the 15th of each month you’ll find a FREE pattern to make this adorable quilt on the Fat Quarter Shop blog. You’ll also find a link to donate any amount you’d like, to the St. Jude campaign each month. 100% of the donations will…
