Designer Cat

Excitement is running high this week at Bunny Hill!  Puttin’ on the Ritz advance yardage has arrived!

I don’t know who’s more excited about the arrival me or Mooch!  Mooch is really attracted to this fabric line and I think it might have something to do with the beautiful gray color.  As soon as I cut up some little squares she was right there in the middle of everything!

Here she is daring me to move her…

This is a cat’s life at Bunny Hill!

Did you know Mooch can read?

It’s true!  Here she is reading the words on the fabric!

My, I have a smart cat!  She could be designing very soon.

Did I tease you enough with the pictures?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hugs,

Anne

Is it the 5th yet?

I rushed around like crazy yesterday trying to get things done. Have you ever had one of those weeks where you can’t remember what day it is?  I thought today was March 5th and I rushed to get my newsletter done and even posted block three of Henrietta!   When I realized today is only the 4th I decided to leave block three up.   You get the pattern early because I don’t know what day it is!

Mooch watched me all day trying to figure out why on earth I was rushing around.

Wonder what Mooch was thinking?

Never mind, I think I know…

Today will be a better day don’t you think?  I’ll be back tomorrow with another post for the 5th.  Remind me will you?

Hugs,

Anne

Photography Bug

I have the photography bug and if you own a digital SLR camera one of these days you’ll get it too.  I don’t think I realized that behind the camera is me and I’m the one who determines how that photo will look!  I always thought it was the camera.  If you want to learn photography take an online class at Lynda.com.  You’ll get an understanding of your camera, settings, lenses and so much more!   Mooch has offered to demonstrate…

Here’s the original photo shot in aperture priority so the background is blurred.  Enlarge the photo and you’ll really be able to see!

Here’s Mooch softened and cropped using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom software

Oh my I really should have cleaned her eye.  No problem I can do it in Photoshop!

Here’s the photo after the white balance was adjusted using the auto setting in Lightroom.  One click and the yellow cast is gone.  My gray cat is back!

Then I went outside to practice shutter speed.   Mooch loves to watch our humming bird feeder.   She does this little “chatter” thing when she’s bird watching.  If you have a cat you’ve probably heard it.  It’s kind of like a vibrating meow!  Strange.

The hummers really put on a show!   I set my camera to shutter priority and a fast shutter speed and ta da I captured them in flight!  I think we have at least 3 humming birds, maybe more.  They were moving so fast I couldn’t tell!

One of my resolutions this year is to learn all I can about taking photos.  If you have a digital SLR pick up that camera and practice changing the settings. It’s so much fun!

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Did you get what you wanted for Christmas?

Did you get what you wanted for Christmas?  Mooch did!  She got a pink catnip mouse and became a wild beast on Christmas Eve.  It took her less than 1/2 hour to tear off the tail and pull out the stuffing.  Catnip all over the floor and, after she was done rolling in it, all over the house!

If you judge a good Christmas by the amount of laughter in the house, this year was a great one! My granddaughters and I made red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for Christmas Eve dessert.  I think there was more frosting on them than the cupcakes, but a lot of laughing and fun went on in the kitchen.  They were yummy!

And now we’re down to the last week of 2010!   Many of you are finishing up quilts and some of you  have sent me photos!  I love seeing what you’ve done.  Several weeks ago Brigette showed me a quilt on Moda Bake Shop designed by Stephanie Roman.  When I saw the design I fell it love with it and when I realized it was designed by Stephanie I loved it even more!  Not only is Stephanie sweet, she’s so talented!

Then one of my blog readers, Deborah Pruden, sent me a photo of a quilt she made using my fabric from Lily & Will.  She used Stephanie’s pattern! Isn’t it a small world? Don’t you love her quilt?

And Snowbound quilts are getting finished!  All the way from Italy comes this beautiful version from Agatha!

And just look at these other photos she sent!  You’ll know the one that captured my heart when you see it…

Thanks for sharing Deborah and Agatha!  I love the quilts.

FYI,  I’ve just added some patterns that are being discontinued at 50% off to my web site.  If you see a pattern that you’ve been thinking about buying now is the time!  3 pages of patterns at 50% off.

And have you seen the Lily & Will II advance precuts I’ve added to my web site?  I have a very LIMITED number, but if you love the yellow or aqua you can buy it now before it ships to the stores.  You’ll find some Lily & Will II under “what’s new“!

Happy last Monday in 2010 everyone!

Anne
