• Weekend Projects

Do you have projects planned for this weekend?  Seems like I’ve been waiting for a “free” weekend and now that it’s here I’m in heaven.  I have so many projects I’ve wanted to get started on so I plan on sewing all weekend long.  Speaking of sewing, it’s a great weekend to try a Scrappy Plate quilt block if you haven’t started yet.  Once you make one, you’ll see how easy it is!  Just go for it! I’ve been working on the applique for my Scrappy Plate quilt, taking pictures as I go along so I can hopefully give you some tips next month.  I don’t know which part I…

  • Please pass the Pumpkin Pie

We’ve spent the last few days making Pumpkin Pie kits here at Bunny Hill.  No calories in this pie even with all the yummy fabrics we’ve been cutting.   Here’s a picture of our pie slice… Doesn’t it look yummy? We’ve got stacks and stacks of Pumpkin Pie… …assembled and ready for baking! If you ordered a Pumpkin Pie kit we’re starting to ship them now. You’ll find these kits on my website, in stock and ready to ship.  The good news is that if you start to make your Pumpkin Pie quilt now, by the time it comes to bake the real thing you’ll be finished and ready to…

  • First week of December!

I started December off at our local hospital early on the morning of December 1st.  My husband had arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder because of a torn rotator cuff.  We had to arrive by 5:45AM. I had envisioned just “us” arriving at that time of the morning, but to my surprise there was a waiting room filled with patients all scheduled for different surgeries.  He was assigned a number and from that point on he could be tracked on the surgery tracker board in the waiting room.  It’s an amazing, color coded, automated system that lets you see where the patient is at all times…in the preop room, in surgery,…

  • Love those weekends

I had a great weekend, how about you?  Did you get some time to yourself to do a few of those things on your list?  Have you started Christmas shopping yet? I’ve been neglecting my house for two months while I’ve worked on new patterns, so this weekend it got some well needed TLC.  Who knew cleaning up and putting things away could feel so good? I bought these wire baskets at Garnet Hill and I’m using them to store my wools.  I like to see everything I have so these baskets are perfect!   See the pastel wool bundles in the picture below?  I bought those bundles at Holly Hill…

  • Pumpkin Pie on a Quilt

Pumpkin Pie on a quilt?  It’s acceptable if it’s baked in a Moda Dottie green pie dish with at least one blackbird in the pie.  Oh, one more thing…you have to sing “Sing a Song of Sixpence” while you make this quilt.  If you don’t know the song better Google it. Pumpkin Pie is made from “Basics”! The quilt is made mostly from Moda Basics so you should easily be able to find the fabric!  I’ve put a color fabric guide inside the pattern and also on my website to make your shopping easy.   Wouldn’t it be fun to make this quilt and put your favorite pumpkin pie recipe on…

  • It’s A Country Fair!

Today is American Jane Day at the Fair… Wait until you see Miss Henny Penny!      Lissa Alexander at Moda Fabrics always has creative ideas…she stores them in her head and just pulls them out when she needs one.  Amazing talent don’t you think?  She came up with the idea of the Moda Country Fair Blog Hop and then she thought up all these things for us to do!  Thanks Lissa, you are just so smart! We’ve been talking about the Moda Country Fair for the last month around the studio and somehow Chelsea got the idea she was invited to the fair.  She’s got these big brown eyes…
