Snowmen Warm Your Heart

I can never get enough snowmen.  There’s just something about the little guys that makes me happy!

When I was at Fall market last October I saw Lisa’s Snowman Gatherings fabric and I had to have it. Now, a few months later, we’ve turned it into a new version of Postcard Cuties for Winter! We made the snowmen from wool and used a jelly roll, charm pack and a bit of yardage for the remainder of the quilt.

I’m busy updating the pattern and the new version should be ready in a few weeks.  The fabric doesn’t ship until April so you’ll have to wait a bit.  We hope to have kits for this super cute quilt and I’ll keep you updated.

Reading on my iPad…

Have to share the most current book I’m reading…it’s quite by accident that I found it.  I saw it on a bestseller list and downloaded a sample to my iPad.  I really had no interest in a story about Charles Lindberg, but the author, Melanie Benjamin, caught my interest right away.  It’s really about Anne Morrow Lindberg and told from her point of view.

A nice change from my usual murder mysteries, The Aviator’s Wife is a good read.

Wool in the studio

Bunny Hill Wool

I’ve been so wrapped up in wool I’m in heaven!  I feel like I’m playing with paper dolls and it’s so much fun.  It just doesn’t get any better than this…unless you box up some Valdani Pearl Cotton to go with it!

These are the new Bunny Hill Pastel wools from Moda Fabrics and they’re in my studio right now!  I’m working on lots of new patterns to go with these yummy colors and I can’t wait to show you!   Ok, maybe one little sneak peek…

Kim and I have been stitching  up a storm.  Kim’s only been stitching for a year and look at those stitches!  She’s a natural :>)

Bunny Hill has a website again

A week without my website. I never imagined it would feel so awful! Finally (a big thank you to my website man), it’s up and running again. I don’t know anything about website coding and I want it to stay that way. It’s a world that makes me crazy!

Now that we finally have a website back up we’re extending our January sale days! 25% off of everything on our website through January 20th.  Think of all those things quilter’s can’t live without…thread collections, patterns, fabric, notions, wool…oh my!  Just enter the coupon code sale2013  in the coupon section on checkout and your 25% will automatically be deducted.

Every time I see a collection of floss or thread leaving here I think “oh, I need one of those” and then I realize I already have one.  Humm…maybe I need 2.  It’s kind of like buying the same pattern twice (you’ve never done that?).  You see a pattern in a shop, have to have it, and then when you get home you realize you already own it. Weeks Dye Works Wool

I’m in love with the wool from Weeks Dye Works.  If you’ve looked at my website lately you probably already know that.  Our wool section is filled with fat quarters from Weeks and we’ve bundled together our favorites to give you assorted colors to choose from.  I add a few more colors to our selection almost every time I place an order with Weeks because I can’t help myself.

Let’s face it, wool is expensive.  I hate it when prices go up so I’m giving you advance notice…Weeks is raising their prices for this beautiful wool September 10th and we’ll have to increase prices too.  A fat quarter of wool will increase in cost $2.00 per fat quarter.   If you’re thinking about adding some wool to your stash, you have a few weeks before the price increase.  One good thing…a little wool goes a long way.  :>)

We’ll have our Snowman Pocket kits back in stock soon, without any increase in price.  We’re just waiting for the red wool to arrive from Moda!  I’ll let you know as soon as we have them in stock.
