Oh my!

It’s been one of those weeks…

My trip to Austin was delayed for 7 hours.  The plane had mechanical trouble and I sat in the airport all day (not complaining because they discovered it while on the ground).  If you didn’t get a call from me to chit chat it’s  because I didn’t have your number!  If you did get a call I’m sorry!  I can talk a lot when I’m killing time.

My embroidery was packed in my suitcase, not my carry on bag.  Free time and nothing to sew!  Learned my lesson on that one I hope.

Retreat was wonderful and I finished embroidering my letter  “S”!   But when I got home I realized I picked up the wrong fabric in my rush to get to the airport.  I used Bella #60 and should have used Bella #11 so I’ll have to embroider the “S” again!  Hummm wonder how long that will take me?

My husband left for a Canadian fishing trip the day after I returned.  It’s been pouring rain the entire trip.  Every day he goes out on a boat in the ocean, rain pouring down and the wind blowing it in his face as he tries to catch the elusive Salmon. 3 days of fishing and he’s caught 1 fish.  This trip was expensive and if he doesn’t catch a fish today I’ve calculated that the salmon he caught will have cost $780 per pound. Oh wait!  I forgot to add in the cost of shipping it home.  He’s in a remote area and you have to helicopter in and out…25lb weight limit on luggage so the salmon will have to be shipped home.  I bet expensive salmon tastes better don’t you think?

To celebrate the end of the week and the fact that you’ve actually read this far in the post, Henrietta will be up on the web early on the 4th!  My newsletter also comes out on the 4th announcing my 25% off sale for three days only.  My BLOG readers can have a few days to shop before everyone else.  The coupon code to get the 25% off your order is July4.  25% off everything on my website!

I’ll be back on the 4th with Henrietta, and the first lesson of Sewing with Kids!  Have a great weekend!

Hugs,

Anne

I have printed out the instructions for Henrietta and met with my quilt group yesterday and they have decided to do it with me!! Fabric Scraps Anyone?

I’m still waiting on my new fabric to arrive and decided if I made room for it, the arrival would happen sooner.  Maybe it’s wishful thinking.  After cleaning I now have 3 empty shelves in the studio just waiting to be filled again, but the day bed is now filled with fabric scraps!  Something has to go.

I’ve decided to have a Scrappy Giveaway!  Yes, it’s exactly as it sounds, bags of scraps from the Bunny Hill Studio.

Here’s my Henrietta Whiskers scrap bag…no it’s not enough to make the quilt but it will get you started… pieces of leftover wool, and a few wool stars cut by me and ready to applique, maybe some buttons…get the idea?

I’ve got 7 bags of Lily & Will scraps!  Seven!  Each one contains a charm pack plus scraps. You could share with a friend or add to your stash.  If you do applique there’s lots of different pieces you’ll be able to use.

So there you have my strange giveaway!  1 bag of Henrietta scraps and 7 bags of Lily & Will scraps.  These have got to go so I’ll announce the winners on Monday AM.  You’ll be adding to your stash and helping me out at the same time.  Lucky you?  Leave a comment and if you feel you HAVE to have the Henrietta bag let me know.  There’s only one Henrietta!

Cleaning up has never been this easy.  Don’t leave me with all these scraps and make me choose random numbers of 1 through 7!  How embarrassing would that be?

Hugs,

Anne

Countdown for Pillow Talk

Can you believe only 3 more designers left?  I’ve loved going to each blog and reading about all the designers and I hope you have too!

Today is Sandy Klop of American Jane fame.  I’ve known Sandy for years and yes, she’s as sweet as she looks!  She has the cutest house you’ve ever seen and it’s decorated in American Jane style.  She had two couches upholstered in one of the Moda fabrics that she designed and they are adorable!  I’m keeping my fingers crossed that she shows you part of her home. If not maybe we could all ask for a tour…she’s opened her home before for a quilter’s tour.

If anyone could make me want to go “Primitive” it would be Lisa from Primitive Gatherings.  I love her designs and now she has wonderful fabric she’s designed to go with them.  I’m excited about her next line of tiny little background prints. I’m always looking for backgrounds and these are going to be the perfect stash builder!

New to blogging and another applique lover is Edyta Sitar from Laundry Basket Quilts.  She combines batiks and florals to create the most beautiful quilts!  The story she shared with us at market about how she came to love quilting was wonderful!

February 19th … American Jane

February 20th … Primitive Gatherings

February 21st …Laundry Basket Quilts

Today is bread baking day or should I say bread baking hour.  This no knead bread takes less than 10 minutes to prepare (dump the ingredients in a container, mix well and refrigerate) and it’s such a treat!  Here’s how it looks fresh out of the oven…

If I can do this you can too!  Here’s the recipe and “how to”  from King Arthur Flour.  Try it and let me know if you love it as much as we do!  It’s great with soup, for sandwiches, toast….yummy bread!

Speaking of cooking if you’re lucky enough to own an Ipad, check out the new Martha Stewart magazine app!  You can “watch” the magazine come to life on your Ipad!  It’s filled with videos, recipes and so much more.  You can  get a preview by clicking on the arrows and watching the videos.  Amazing!

Have a great weekend everyone.  Enjoy the last of Pillow Talk from Moda!

Hugs,

Anne
