Quilt Market was fun!

Henrietta climbs up the Eiffel Tower in the Bunny Hill Booth!

It’s a good thing she did or she might have been sold as a sample.  Poor squirrel.

The Eiffel tower that Henrietta’s climbing came from Restoration Hardware Baby and I used it as a prop in our booth.  It’s a card or photo holder so I put it in the crib and collected business cards.  One lucky shop owner is going to win a Bunny Hill gift.

My new fabric Ooh La La, was made into crib bedding…

…and the vintage crib with it’s chipped paint made an appearance again..

Of course we had quilts in our booth…

…for little girls…

…and little boys…

…and big girls too!

This coming weekend Karla from Sweetwater will be teaching at Holly Hill Quilt Shop in West Linn, Oregon along with me, Debbie from Wooden Spool Designs, and Terri of Sweet Treasures.   Can you imagine the fun we’re going to have?  Wish you could all join us!  The theme is Christmas and the fun starts Saturday!

Since I’ll be in Portland this weekend I won’t get to make a centerpiece like Blackbird had in their booth.  Dang, I wanted it for my Thanksgiving table!

Here’s a closeup in case you want to make one without me…twinkle lights, white pumpkins, and branches in a beautiful wire basket.  Just to have these white pumpkins would be such a treat.  Oh and if you see an extra wire basket like this one let me know.

And talk about pumpkins, Sandy Klop of American Jane wrapped hers in jelly roll strips!  How cute is that?

I’ve promised my granddaughters some special sewing and cooking time after I return and I’m really looking forward to it.  Chelsea, Bitsy and Mooch are a little mad that I’m going away again this soon after market.  I’ve been giving extra attention to them all week trying to make up for it.  Something tells me it will never be enough!

I’ll be back soon.  Have a great weekend!

Hugs,

Anne

Quilt Market Color

International Quilt Market is always so exciting!  Twice a year unbelievable talent comes together under one roof and you can’t help but be inspired!  Walking the aisles = mind overload;  new things are everywhere.  Getting away from my booth to see things can be challenging but oh so much fun!  My focus this time was on color…beautiful, beautiful color…

Can you stand it?  Don’t you want to just dig your hands into those buttons and cut yourself some trims?  I got carried away in the Valdani booth with all that pearl cotton and floss.  I may have to get a job working for Valdani just so I can get my fill of those balls of color.  I’d never get a paycheck because I’d spend it all before it reached my hands!  Good thing this only happens twice a year.  I could end up in the poor house for bunnies!

Back soon to show you my booth…

Hugs,

Anne

Oh those French really know red!

The French know a great red when they see one and so does Kaari Meng, The French General.  When I saw her first line for Moda Fabrics called Rounenneries I fell in love.  So French, so pretty and so red!   It was almost enough to make this “pink” girl think about crossing over to the “red” side!

Well Kaari’s done it again with the red in Rounenneries Deux.  Her fabric always sings to me and this time it’s been singing about snowmen.  I’ve been surrounded by Rounenneires Deux for awhile now.  I’ve played with it, starched it, stitched with it,  cut it up and then sewn it back together and I still can’t get enough of it. If I wasn’t leaving for market in just 3 days I might still be sewing.  So what is the result of my “red” obsession?

Merry, Merry Snowmen, my newest block of the month!

These snowmen have to be a bit French don’t you think?  How do I know?  Well, look at the chef in the bottom right corner…she stepped right out of a French Patisserie!  She has holiday delicacies for sale and I can almost smell them baking!  As the French say…

Ooh La La!

Oh wait!  That’s the name of my next fabric line.  I’ll have to show you that next but certainly not in a “red” post.   I’m back to pink with Ooh La La, can you imagine?

New patterns are finally ready.  I’ll be loading them to my website over the next 2 days AND I’ll be back with more blog posts.  I’ve got 12 new patterns to show you…

I have to practice saying Rounenneries before I leave for quilt market.  For now please don’t ask me what line I used in Merry, Merry Snowmen…

I’ve missed you all!

Pat Sloan’s Radio goes to Quilt Market!

I adore Pat Sloan.  She’s made the quilting world so much fun by hosting her radio show every week.  She brings many different talents into our homes and makes us feel like we’re sitting right there with her!     American Patchwork and Quilting is now the sponsor of Pat’s show!  Congratulations Pat on such a winning combination!

Pat was at International Quilt Market in Salt Lake City this year and I had the honor of being interviewed by her!  Click on the photo, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the podcast with my name.  You’ll hear me, Kimberly Jolly from Fat Quarter Shop, Sandy Klop of American Jane and Patty Young of modkid!  You can sew away and listen to us talk…something we all love to do!

Now for some more fun!  I promised a giveaway and here it is!  You just might win some of my newest fabric line Puttin’ on the Ritz!

Just tell me what color of Puttin’ on the Ritz you’re dreaming about and you could win!  One of these bundles could be on the way to you Friday morning!

Hope you enjoy the radio show!  A big thank you to Pat Sloan!

Hugs,

Anne
