Quilt Market Week

If Quilt Market could have its own week, this is it!  When I think of quilters from all over the US and international countries, arriving in Portland this week, it’s mind-boggling.  Oh how I wish I could take each and every one of you to quilt market.  The excitement is building throughout the week with classes and sample spree.  Friday is opening day!

If you can’t come to market, follow along on Jolly Jabber ( the Fat quarter Shop blog)  or, on the Fat quarter Shop’s Facebook page.  You’ll get market updates throughout each day and get all the news as it happens.

Molly

“Molly” horse, my newest petite pattern, and some of her thoroughbred friends are coming along to market with me! Kim just finished stitching up a bunch of these little horses for me to take along.  See the one in the upper left corner?  She’s my favorite!  Her mane gives her that “wild girl” look!    I’m sharing space in the Moda booth this market with other designers, and these little horses will help decorate my “space”.

A Woodland Christmas

I’ve just put my newest block of the month, A Woodland Christmas, on our website!   As you probably know, I LOVE Christmas quilts and this one was really fun to design!  When the critters went up on the design wall, it was hard to pick a favorite.  Lynne, my wonderful quilter, worked her magic and brought the quilt to life.

We’ll have embellishment kits, floss kits, thread kits and…are you ready for this…pre-printed applique templates available for this quilt soon!  Yes, I’m having the drawings pre-printed on heavy-duty freezer paper so all you have to do is cut them out.  No tracing required!  The templates will be sold as a separate kit and I’ll let you know when they’re available.  A Woodland Christmas will be a fun quilt to make!

Have a great week everyone!  If you happen to be at Quilt Market be sure and come see me!  I’ll take lots of pictures at market so I can share when I get back.

Chloe is a traveling dog

Chloe is waiting to go home with one of you.  I finally time to pick the winner this morning (actually, I let random.org pick the winner).

#23 is Liz Morgan!  Liz, Chloe will be coming to you this week.  She’s got some great signatures and I hope you enjoy her!

Moda won best booth!

The competition at quilt market is fierce.  It takes a ton of creativity and teamwork to pull together a winning booth and Moda did it!

This trailer was part of the booth and it was so darn cute!  The curtains and accessories were made from “Glamping” by Mary Jane Butters of Mary Jane’s Farm .  She’s a new designer for Moda and her Glamping fabric line is so sweet!

“My Favorite Color is Moda” was the theme of the booth.   Drippy paint cans with brushes are stacked on top, paint sticks hang from the beams, and the chair and table covers are a rainbow of color.

Holly is the genius behind the booth design so my congratulations go out to Holly and the Moda team who worked so hard to make this a prize-winning booth!

It was amazing to watch this booth come together and even more amazing to see it come down after market!  They took those paint cans down one by one.

Karisma Pencils

If you received our newsletter this morning you know that the Karisma Pencils are the sale item of the month.  These were so popular we’ve sold out on the first day!    They are not easy to get because they come from Japan, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed we can get more.  I’ll keep you updated!

Mollie Makes Issue #20

Mollie Makes Issue #20 is now on the website.  I’m in love with the little bear on the cover!  The complete directions, step by step, are in this issue.  This issue includes the yarn for 2 little crochet coasters.

Have a great Monday everyone!

Quilt Market 2012

I’m back from market, home safe and sound. My heart goes out to my friends and customers who worried about getting home and what would be there when they did.  Many were stranded in Houston waiting for “Sandy” to pass and airports to re-open.  To each of you I hope you’ve made it home to family and friends.

The Bunny Hill booth was decorated in pink, mauve and grey with yellow chicks for Easter.  My first two visitors were Rachel Griffith and Julie Herman.  These two make any market fun.  I’ve known them since the start of the Moda Bake Shop and now they’ve each gone on to become book authors and quilt designers!

Look who was directly across from me at market…Primitive Gatherings!  Every time I had a break I’d run over to shop.

The team from The Fat Quarter Shop was all over market.  Here they are buying fabric from Moda!

And in case you didn’t know it they’ve published their first book called “Simply Fat Quarters

Kimberly did a book signing in the Moda booth at market!

Here’s a group shot of the Moda Designers.  We’re sitting in front of Moda’s Blue Ribbon Booth!

More about the Moda booth tomorrow…along with the “Chloe” giveaway.  She’s autographed and ready to go to a new home!

Hugs,

Anne

Chloe, The Autograph Dog

Remember the days of the autograph dog?  Wasn’t it fun collecting autographs?  Meet Chloe, a new pattern from Bunny Hill! She’s here to make sure you don’t miss out on the autograph fun.  She’s simple to make, with plenty of room to hold all those signatures!

…Chloe’s been collecting autographs at Quilt Market…

and when I get back one of you will be her new owner.

Her pattern will be available November 5th.

Hugs,

Anne
