Moda News!

I’m in the news today on the Moda blog and my sons are going to disown me.  I promised I would never tell the sequin story! You know how moms are.  They made Christmas ornaments when they were little and went door to door selling them.  Opps, now I’m really in trouble! Shhh…maybe they don’t read my blog.

I Feel like I should be cleaning the studio and having everyone over for a visit!  But wait!  That would take some doing right now.  We’re getting ready to sew up a storm at Bunny Hill and I guarantee the studio won’t be clean for weeks!  Think of the threads, scraps and fabric you might find on the floor.

I’m excited that I found something to fill vintage basket by my desk…jelly rolls and bundles of Lily & Will.  I’m even more excited to think it might be filled with Jelly Rolls of Puttin’ on The Ritz before too long.  Can you believe another quilt market is just around the corner?  I’ll be showing you my new fabric line soon!  This is going to be an exciting market for a lot of designers.  I can just feel it!  Wish you could all come.

One of you asked me about Chelsea and Bitsy a few weeks ago and if Chelsea had lost any weight?  They are both doing fine, but Chelsea has developed the strangest phobia.  She hates it when I try and take her photo!  Since I moved my desk she can walk completely around my computer and I’ll find her standing next to the monitor looking at me.  All I have to do is grab my camera and you’d think I was punishing her.  She hates it!  I don’t use a flash so I can’t imagine what started this!

Here she is standing on top of my desk right in front of me.  I picked up the camera and look at the expression on her face!

She hates it!  Maybe it’s the weight thing.  Do you think?

Back Soon I hope!  I’m having trouble with my blog right now and I’m moving it to another server.  Forgive me if any glitches come up.  I’ll get them fixed as soon as I can.

Hugs,

Anne

Lily & Will II is here!

I’ve been so caught up working on new patterns it took me by complete surprise when Kimberly at Fat Quarter Shop emailed to say she has my new fabric, Lily & Will II in stock!   It’s finally arrived and I’m feeling like a new mom! Think of all the things you can make with this yummy aqua and yellow fabric!

If you’re looking for a fast and easy quilt try our “B is for Baby” whole cloth quilt.  We’ve included a full alphabet so you can customize with any initial you desire.  A touch of applique and you’re done!   Just look at this yummy aqua!  Enlarge my photo so you can see it!

Here’s what you’ll need to make “B is for Baby

Or maybe you’re in the mood for Petit Fours since Easter is right around the corner.  This Jelly Roll quilt is so easy you won’t believe it.  You’ll have it made in a day and ready to quilt.  Isn’t this a fun use for a Jelly Roll?

I was taking these quilt photos this morning and Mooch jumped up on the bed (of course).  She has to be the star even when Lily & Will II is arriving.  You know how cats are!  Gray cat on white bed…hmmm something rather royal about that.  I wonder if she’s thinking about my next fabric line!

I’m patiently awaiting the arrival of the advance yardage for my Spring line called “Puttin’ on the Ritz”.  I’m designing without fabric right now just using little images; not the easiest thing to do so keep your fingers crossed that it comes soon!

Hope you’re all having a great week!

Hugs,

Anne

Moda Pillow Talk

Hi Everyone!  Welcome to Pillow Talk at Bunny Hill!  The creative mind behind “Pillow Talk” is Lissa Alexander the marketing director at Moda!  She dreams up things for us to do in her sleep.  No wonder she’s calling this “Pillow Talk”!  We never know what she’ll dream up next!  This time she’s given us questions to answer -  like what we do to relax, do we like pajamas, something about us you might not know, do we sew in bed…

…So grab your jammies, your favorite pillow and come on over for some Pillow Talk!  Of course you may have to share a bed with Bitsy or Chelsea…

…or, maybe Max, Mooch or Topsy.   I’m such an animal lover!

We can’t stay up too late talking because I go to bed early.  I get up at 5AM every morning.  It’s my favorite time of day and I’ll still be in my jammies.  Yep, that’s right I love jammies.  See if you can pick out the real Anne Sutton in the photos below…

Did you guess?  My husband picked the one on the bottom left.  He’s very funny isn’t he?

Lissa asked us to design a pillow for Fall market that “represented us”.  It was hard to decide on a pillow because sometimes I’m funny and other times I’m pratical.  Funny won and I decided to make a LARGE bunny.  Surprise!  I made a bunny pillow that my husband could use when I travel.  It holds his nose strips and his remote control (both he can never be without).  I carried this giant bunny in my luggage all the way to Houston and back.  He’s bigger than Bitsy and Chelsea put together.

Chelsea asked my DH to add a few treats to the pocket the next time I travel so she won’t miss me as much!  That dog is just so smart!

Today I’m  sharing something I love to sew;  lavender pillow sachets made with charm squares!

You can stack them to scent your favorite room…

or fill a pretty jar to decorate a special corner…

…or make a few for little Valentine gifts!

Just fill with lavender and decorate with a vintage button.

I love lavender sachets don’t you?

If you’d like to make some sachets yourself you can plug in this cord…

…(if you’re the lucky winner) and iron a package of Lily & Will charm squares with your new Oliso iron!

One of you is going to win this iron can you believe it?  It’s my “dream” iron and Oliso has generously donated one for a giveaway!  Hop on over to Oliso’s FaceBook page and say thank you!  Or, if you’re not on Facebook, visit the Oliso website and watch the video to see this iron in action.   Leave a comment on this post telling me why you’d like to win and I’ll announce the lucky winner on Tuesday!  Thank you Oliso for making such a wonderful iron!  Everyone at Bunny Hill has this iron and we all agree…we love it!

Just a few more questions left to answer…how about “do you sew in bed?”  What’s up with that question?   How does Lissa think we get everything done!  Of course I sew in bed!

“How many nights do you or your spouse spend on the couch?” Lissa obviously hasn’t been to my house.  It’s a big O.  There’s never any room!

What’s something you might not know about me?  I’m going to be a grandmother again!  My son Doug and his wonderful wife Elke are expecting their first baby at the end of May and it’s a girl!  My new grand-daughter will speak German, English and maybe a little French because Doug and Elke live in Germany.  How do you say “I’m so excited” in German?

Hmm…where did I put my IPad?  I’m reading such a good book! Pillow Talk is over at Bunny Hill and it’s time to relax.

Be sure and visit these other Moda designers for more Pillow Talk and treats!

February 1st … Aneela Hoey

February 2nd … Blackbird Designs

February 3rd … Brannock and Patek

You’ll find more Pillow Talk tomorrow over at  Cottonway!   I love everything Bonnie does and so will you!

Have fun!

Anne

Fall Quilt Market

The only thing I don’t like about Fall market is the timing.  It always seems to fall over Halloween and many of us don’t get to see our kids or grand-kids dressed in all their glory.  Of course at Moda they try and make us feel like family, so we had some trick or treating going on right at market!

Debbie, (chief of all things patterns) was so cute.  There I was telling her how I’d have everything ready early for spring market and she just cracked up laughing!

She threatens me every year because I’m late getting things to her, but even dressed up like a witch she’s really not very threatening looking (sorry Debbie).  I’m in love with those green tights of hers (see below)!  And that hat!  Don’t you love the hat?  Seems to me she could “pattern” that!  She’s standing in front of Jan Patek’s booth, dressed to sell Jan’s new pattern.

And speaking of Jan, just look at how she and her helper Jenny dressed up!

The raggedy pair, Ann & Andy!

And then there’s “Moda Lissa” who looks cute no matter what she does.  Orange polka dots and cowboy boots go so well together I’m not sure she can call it “dressing up”.

If you couldn’t come to quilt market the Moda designers made videos for you!  Click below and you’ll have me right on your computer giving you a personal tour.  Then visit the other designers by clicking on the Modagene video link at the top!  You’ll find all of us chatting about our newest designs and Lissa gives a tour of the Moda booth.  It’s really fun!

Come to Market With Me!

Have a great weekend.  I’ll be back to tell you about a wonderful project I’m participating in called Quilt Aid.

Hugs,

Anne
