Bunny Hill Meets Holly Hill!

What a weekend I had at Holly Hill Quilt Shoppe in West Linn, Oregon.  I’d move to Portland if I could, just to live near this shop!  When I walked in and saw the Bunny Hill section I couldn’t believe it.  What an incredible display!

And then I walked over to the French General section…

…and what to my wondering eyes should appear but a miniature sleigh and tiny reindeer…

It’s my Night Before Christmas Quilt and tons of fabric!

Upstairs is the most beautiful classroom ever!

The classroom is large with lots of windows.

I could be Snowbound here forever!

…and then the classroom filled up with wonderful people and we had so much fun!

Each teacher had a project and everyone rotated from table to table to make all the projects!

In-between projects there was shopping!

Holly Hill is a quilter’s paradise,  a “must see” if you’re in the Portland area.  Thank you Holly Hill for a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Anne

Primitive? Me?

I just received my second issue of Primitive Quilts.    Have you seen this new magazine yet?  It’s put together by a group of really creative ladies and I do mean creative.  It’s so well done I find that I’m enjoying the magazine a lot.  I signed up for a 2 year subscription!

If you border between “Prim” and traditional style you’ll enjoy this new magazine.  To tell the truth I think there’s room for a bit of prim in a shabby chic home.

The last few quilt markets I’ve found myself in the booths selling wool and Valdani Pearl Cotton.  I’ve always been a fan of wool and well that Valdani, what can I say but yummy?

You just might find a few wool patterns coming up at Bunny Hill.  Shabby and prim…a new concept?    I don’t think so…look at this rug from Garnet Hill that I’ve fallen in love with…

It ties the whole look together.  Perfect for a shabby home and perfect for a prim home.  Best of both worlds!  Ha, you didn’t know I had it in me did you?

Hugs from,

The Shabby Primitive Bunny :>)

Treasures

I’ve been shopping over at Dreamy Whites and I have to show you what I bought!  I may have to have to start making cookies for the UPS man.  He’s been hauling the strangest size boxes up to the door.  I LOVE Maria’s blog “Dreamy Whites” and I love her decorating style but most of all I just can’t resist her shop.

Here’s my purchase this week…this old grape container…

The first thing I thought of when I saw it was fabric storage!  After it arrived (UPS man struggled getting it to the door) DH scrubbed it clean and carried it up to the studio for me.  The old Bistro chair that I bought from Maria several weeks ago sits next to it.  DH wants to re-paint the chair so much but he’s been warned not to get near it.  He doesn’t understand the old, worn, vintage look and chances are you’ll see this old chair on the cover of a few patterns in the future.

It’s finally a Quilt!

Snowmen are coming to town this holiday season!   It’s Snowbound time at Bunny Hill!  There’s nothing like finishing a quilt and being able to finally use it!  If you’ve joined me in making Snowbound, I hope you’ll enjoy yours as much as I’m enjoying mine!

I’ve gathered up a few of my favorite snowmen and Snowbound is hanging in my dining room for the holidays.  Come on in!

They key to a good display is to vary the height. You can easily create height with a few empty boxes, some scraps of your favorite quilting fabric, ribbon and pins.  You can reuse the fabric after Christmas so don’t worry about giving up your favorite fabric!  If you have a few cake stands, get them out.  If not, just use boxes!

Enlarge the photo below and you’ll see I’ve used tiny applique pins in place of tape to wrap the packages.  I pressed the fabric after it was on the box.

If you don’t have enough ribbon you can piece what you have with pins! No one will notice when your display is complete!

Of course I used my Lily & Will  fabric to wrap the boxes!

To complete the look I filled a vintage dough bowl on my dining room table with red Christmas balls and blue & ivory candles…

Even the little lamb on the hutch got a blue box to stand on!

Being Snowbound just doesn’t get any better!

Hurry and maybe you can finish your Snowbound quilt.  I can’t wait to see them all!  Email me photos or post your photos to my Flickr group!  Sharing is the most fun of all!

Hugs,

Anne
