Ooh La La!

This fall Bunny Hill has gone to Paris!  Well, not really but some of my newest fabric line, Ooh La La was inspired by my trip to Paris last year.  Ooh La La was designed to coordinate with Puttin’ on the Ritz so if you start with one line you can easily carry over into the next.  This time I’ve added French words, silver spoons (has to be my favorite print ever), a panel with little french houses, silver cups and spoons.  There’s a toile for baby and of course another damask.  The damask is from an 1800′s piece of wallpaper.  I’m amazed that vintage treasures like these are still around!  It gives me a nostalgic feeling and makes me humble just to be able to reproduce such a piece.

Ooh La La!

Here’s the silver spoon print that I doodled…

It’s a tiny print and I’ve thought up something special that we can do together using this print…

of course we’ll have to wait until yardage arrives but it won’t be too long…

Just look at the spoons in pink!    Yes, they also come in blue…

Here’s the baby toile designed from more of my scribbles and doodles…it also comes in gray, pink and blue!

And do you like French words?  I love the French language, just can’t help myself!  I’ve even tucked in the silver spoons among the words…

I’ve designed 2 new special baby quilts using  Ooh La La…the type of quilts that can be handed down from generation to generation.

Sugar and Spice for little girls…

…and Play Days for little boys…

My grandson Kyle Sutton drew the little robots that you see in this quilt!  Aren’t they cute?

And I can’t forget Henrietta…she’s made from the gingham check in Ooh La La

Kim is making up a bunch of Henrietta for us to sell at Sample Spree, but see that pink gingham check one in the photo below? She’s going to be very hard to give up.  These are all coming to Houston with us (and so is Kim!).

Are you still waiting on Mollie Makes?

If you’ve ordered Mollie Makes and you think I’m never sending your magazine, I have good news.  I’ve been told that the magazines should be arriving this week in the US.  I leave for market on Wednesday, so if I can’t get them in the mail before I leave we’ll start shipping as soon as I return next week.  Because you’ve waited so long I’m including a little treat for you.

Also on my agenda right after market are the quilt blocks for Jeaneane.  I’ll be showing a few blocks and I’ll be drawing a winner for the prize… Someone’s going to be very lucky because the number of entries are low so your chances of winning are good.

New patterns are on the website now.  Take a peak!   I’ll be back soon to show you the Pumpkin Pie quilt and some of the wool applique.  Something new I’ve added to my website…fabric guides.  You’ll find free fabric guides for Merry, Merry Snowmen and Pumpkin Pie on my “Free Pattern” page on my website!

Back soon!

Anne

Oh those French really know red!

The French know a great red when they see one and so does Kaari Meng, The French General.  When I saw her first line for Moda Fabrics called Rounenneries I fell in love.  So French, so pretty and so red!   It was almost enough to make this “pink” girl think about crossing over to the “red” side!

Well Kaari’s done it again with the red in Rounenneries Deux.  Her fabric always sings to me and this time it’s been singing about snowmen.  I’ve been surrounded by Rounenneires Deux for awhile now.  I’ve played with it, starched it, stitched with it,  cut it up and then sewn it back together and I still can’t get enough of it. If I wasn’t leaving for market in just 3 days I might still be sewing.  So what is the result of my “red” obsession?

Merry, Merry Snowmen, my newest block of the month!

These snowmen have to be a bit French don’t you think?  How do I know?  Well, look at the chef in the bottom right corner…she stepped right out of a French Patisserie!  She has holiday delicacies for sale and I can almost smell them baking!  As the French say…

Ooh La La!

Oh wait!  That’s the name of my next fabric line.  I’ll have to show you that next but certainly not in a “red” post.   I’m back to pink with Ooh La La, can you imagine?

New patterns are finally ready.  I’ll be loading them to my website over the next 2 days AND I’ll be back with more blog posts.  I’ve got 12 new patterns to show you…

I have to practice saying Rounenneries before I leave for quilt market.  For now please don’t ask me what line I used in Merry, Merry Snowmen…

I’ve missed you all!

Anne

I’m working on new patterns!

It can’t be several weeks since my last post can it?  I’ve been so busy time is flying by!  I have too many deadlines and I can’t keep them all straight, but the good news is that out of deadlines come new patterns and fabric!

Remember the dots?

…the ones I showed you in the last post?  I used that orange Moda Dottie on the border of my new quilt!   If you love dots as much as I do I think you just might like this one!  The pattern is almost done and it will be available at the end of October.

I’m calling it Pumpkin Pie!  I love pie almost as much as I love dots!

And have you heard about Ooh La La!

I’ve been sewing and sewing with my next fabric line called “Ooh La La“.  Get ready for more applique baby quilts because I’ve got some cute ones coming!  Here’s a peek at one of the new quilts…

Hoo’s My Baby

Merry, Merry Snowmen…coming soon!

Of course it can’t be market without a new block of the month!  I can’t wait to show you my newest!   I’ve used Rouenneries Deux from Moda Fabrics and French General and I’m calling the quilt “Merry Merry Snowmen”!  Beautiful shades of red, taupe, cream and  beige … I loved working with this fabric!  Because this fabric ships to stores in December you’ll be able to start this quilt in January and have it completed in time for next Christmas.  Merry, Merry Snowmen is a Merry, Merry quilt!

A Baby Just Makes Life Sweet!

Lily is still visiting from Germany!  I’ve grown so attached to her and I’m sad to think she’ll be leaving in just a few weeks to return to Germany!  What am I going to do without this happy little face around everyday?  She’s changing so rapidly, I’ve seen her grow right before my eyes.  She’s so happy and always smiling.  Grandma’s girl for sure!

I’ve got so much more to share with you and I’ll be posting more as soon as I can. Have a wonderful week everyone!  I’ll be back soon…

Hugs,

Anne

Henrietta’s Big Party!

Can you believe this is the final block for Henrietta Whiskers?   Henrietta’s excited and a little bit nervous too.  It’s not everyday that a little squirrel gets to meet so many people!  I don’t think either of us ever imagined she would be so popular. I’m giving you block nine and the final quilt a day in advance!  If you’re spending this holiday weekend sewing,  you might have time to finish the quilt and have it ready to hang for Fall!

Henrietta Whiskers Block Nine

Henrietta’s busy catching stars and Sophie’s helping!

And now that you’re finishing up your quilt (you are finishing aren’t you?) you’re probably wondering what I’ve done to that top and bottom strip!  I’ve had your trust all year and you’ve followed me blindly so to speak, so I’m excited to finally show you the entire quilt.  Click on the photo and it will enlarge it.

You’ll find the pattern for block nine along with the finishing instructions, by clicking on the free tab at the top of my blog.

…As We Come to the end of My Henrietta Block of the Month…

…I’ve been struggling trying to find a balance in my life between designing fabric, patterns, quilt markets, family, pets, traveling and oh yes, I forgot me!  Block of the month quilts take so much time to create and I know  you understand how crazy life can get.  I’ve made the difficult decision that Henrietta will be my last free block of the month. I know I’ll be disappointing many of you but I hope you’ll understand.  I have LOTS of fun things up my sleeve that I think you’ll enjoy so please don’t think the fun will end.  New surprises are in the planning stages!

New things added to my website!

You’ll find new floss and notions under “What’s New” on my website.  We are now carrying Cosmo Sparkles Floss and because we’ve gotten so many requests, for a limited time  I’ve  added Cosmo Seasons color #8041.  It’s in stock now and ready to ship!

and…Help me clean our our sample room!

We are filled to the brim and need to make room so you’ll find some great buys on samples and quilts from our patterns! I just listed more on my website.
