• Moda Stitch Pink

When Moda does a stitch along, it’s something you don’t want to miss!  When they do one for breast cancer awareness month, it’s guaranteed to be extra special.  Starting October 1 (today), you’ll get one block per day for 30 days.  On October 31st. You’ll get the directions for finishing this beautiful sampler quilt.  You can sign up to receive these blocks by email on the Moda blog, where you’ll also find all the information you need to get started. Just look at this Stitch Pink quilt!  If this doesn’t leave you weak in the knees, I don’t know what will!  Carrie Nelson (aka Miss Rosie) is giving her tips…

  • Sewcialities Sew-Along

The Fat Quarter Shop is getting ready for a free block of the week sew-along called Sewcialities!  They’ve asked 18 designers (me included) to each contribute two blocks that can be made in three different sizes, 3″, 6″, or 9″.  You’ll get one block a week for 38 weeks. The fun starts Friday, September 25th, and runs through June 25th, 2021!     The blocks are all pieced, and each one is rated for difficulty.  The Fat Quarter Shop will be using the “Homestead” fabric line by April Rosenthal.  There are so many other fabric lines you can choose from, and The Fat Quarter Shop has suggestions on their blog…

  • Squirrelly Girl

We’re waiting and waiting for Squirrelly Girl to arrive!  And like everything else these days, it’s taking longer for things to ship.  I’ve been told it will be around September 9th, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.  Squirrelly Girl is coming all the way from Japan, so she has a long voyage.  But once she makes it to Moda, they won’t want her sitting around stirring up trouble.  They’ll get her out right away. If you’ve pre-ordered a Squirrelly Girl kit or a Fat Quarter bundle, we’ll be shipping yours first.  I’ll have a few extra kits available after the pre-orders ship.  There are a lot of backings to be…

  • It’s a Bunny Hill Sale!

There’s a sale going on at Bunny Hill!  Everything on our website is 25% off for the next three days, July 3rd through July 4th. If my Country Christmas quilt is in your future, and you don’t have the pattern yet, this would be the time to buy it. It’s so much more than a quilt pattern! The Country Christmas pattern is filled with designs you can easily convert into little Christmas projects.   Trace the design onto freezer paper and cut out on the traced line.  Place fabric right sides together, iron the freezer paper to fabric.  Stitch around the pattern right next to the freezer paper, leaving a 1″…

  • Scrap Bags and SVG Files

If you don’t know what an SVG file is, you’re not alone.  A little over a year ago, I didn’t either, but when we started getting requests for these files, I did my research and loved what I learned. If you own a Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine, SVG files can save you hours of template cutting.  My assistant Sue and I each purchased a Circut cutting machine and set about learning to use them.  The end result is exciting!   We have our first set of SVG files available for Country Christmas on our website!  If there’s enough interest, we’ll have SVG files available for all of my new applique…

  • It Takes a Village

Moda is always thinking of customers, and it’s especially true during a pandemic.  The generosity of this company is so wonderful.  I’m sharing a gift from Moda that’s free on their website during this time.  The “Village” quilt pattern from Miss Rosie and Moda is one of my favorite quilts.  Isn’t it cute? Link to Village Pattern   I’m excited about this pattern because I’ve wanted to make it since I first saw it.  So, I’m going to sew along with everyone else.  It may take me forever to finish this quilt,  but I’m joining in, and I think my assistant Sue is going to join too!  It’s so much…
