Chelsea and I each made a bucket list back in 2011, and I found a copy of it today. Six years later and we haven’t completed much on our list. Chelsea’s still waiting for her pink convertible, and I’m still trying to organize my photos.
The beautiful thing about this list is that it’s New Year’s Eve and we have another full year to complete it! I told her I think we need to review and set more realistic goals for 2018. She keeps reminding me that she’s getting older and wants to update her list with things like a fluffy new bed.
She’s been lounging around today watching me fill up my market basket with goodies to give away tomorrow.
The basket is bursting at the seams, and I can hardly lift it! I’ve been collecting things all year, and there are 12 bags of treats inside! We’re going to pick 12 winners tomorrow, and each one is going to get a treat bag!
All you have to do to win is leave me a comment telling me if you’ve ever done a bucket list. Do you think it’s a good idea to do a yearly bucket list? One that you can review at the end of each year to see how much you’ve accomplished? Do you have any other ideas for organizing in 2018?
Chelsea and I will be back tomorrow with a list of 12 winners.
Happy New Year’s Eve!
I have starte a bucket list for 2018. I feel like it will help me to achieve goals instead of spinning, as I call it, never getting anything completed. I have also decided to work on a project for a couple hours, then move to another project for a few hours or housecleaning, or whatever needs to b done. My organization is horrible as I have little space. Hoping to get tips from everyone else.
I have lived in 8 cities in the last 20 years. I create a bucket list of what I wish to do in the city before I move. Each month, I check off 1 or 2 items. It’s always nice to have something to look forward to. My bucket is attached to my wall with washi tape so I see it often. Happy New Year to Anne & Chelsea & the rest of your family.
I used like to make a bucket list and I stopped, because u failed very bed..lol😁
But for this year, I really really want to finish my Splendid Sampler quilt!!!!!
No, I have never done a bucket list.
Yes, but only to find that in my 70 years I have done most of the things on my ever evolving bucket list! Time to update.
I have never written a bucket list. It sounds like a good idea, but I’m worried that if I can’t or don’t accomplish the things on my list then I will get depressed.
It is motivating to have a bucket list.
I think it’s a good idea, it pushes you do more.
It’s fun to look back and see what is crossed off the list.
Michael’s here is having a good organzing sale. :)
Never had a bucket list but think it is a wonderful idea and I’m going to do it! Thanks!
I have never made a bucket list for fear that I will not get one thing done on it – but I am always making plans on which quilt to make next or the next one after that !!
Hi Anne and Chelsea, We’ll sadly this didn’t show up in my mail until 5:53 this morning, 1/1/2018! I will add my comment anyway! I don’t have a bucket list. I find, for me, it’s best to take care of things as they arrive and be joyfully ready for adventures as they come! I did like reading your list and Chelsea’s list though! I am applying to be Chelsea’s personal driver! I could go for driving a pink convertible, and biscuits with the queen, shopping on Rodeo Drive, and at Tiffany’s! My kind of girl 😄 Happy New Year and may all your dreams and wishes come true 💗
I did one nearly 20 years ago and found it again recently and I had done about 3/4 of them. Very cool! I am thinking of doing another one but 10 year plan this time. Great idea!
I haven’t done a bucket list but see how it would keep me focused for the year. What a wonderful idea.
A bucket list would be a neat way to treat yourself to special things. I think a yearly bucket list would be a reminder to make sure to treat yourself to the special things.
I don’t have my photos organized either. It seems to smack too much of the past, don’t you think?
Made one a few years ago, but with the job I have its hard to do much, two more years and I will quit the rat race and finish it someday
My yearly bucket list is try to be better to myself and all those around me.
I have never made a bucket list but it sounds like I should do one this year. Thank you.
Haven’t made one but should for 2018 and love the idea of making one every year.💙💜💛❤💚
I’ve never done one where I’ve actually written down. However I do have some in my head! I think it’s a good idea so maybe I’ll just go ahead and make one. If you don’t plan you don’t do.
My bucket list is short due to my significant others health. Finish some works in progress and keep him healthy enough to do a family vacation the end of March. He has brain cancer, think John McCain and Beau Biden, but is still alive after 3 years when the median survival rate is 15 months! BUCKET LIST-LIVE EACH DAY!!!!!
I have never done a bucket list but I do like to start the year prioritizing my quilting projects. Still need to make the 2018 list.
I love making new years resolutions. And my number one is always a general improving myself…whether that’s eating more fruit and veggies, losing weight or learning something new.
Have never done a bucket list!! Have donated many projects and have many remaining…Will list by priority!!
I’m not so much the bucket list type. I do make a goal of finishing certain projects and review those goals periodically.
I don’t make a list as it would flow out of my Bucket-it has a hole in it!
I’ve never made a bucket list — I have trouble getting through short to-do lists.
I have not done an official bucket list. There are things I want to do each month/year and it is a bit easier for me that way. But there are a few longer term things I would like to do–maybe time to write them down and work out a plan with my hubby.
I have not ever made a bucket list, especially of things to be done in the new year. I don’t want to look at the list at the end of the year & feel bad because I didn’t accomplish all the things on my list. I’d rather look forward to what I might be able to get done in the new year.
I do do a bucket list. It’s how I get things done in my life..but sometimes I just go forward on s whim. Live your designs and hope I’m lucky in 2018
My bucket list last year was to try things I used to tell myself I couldn’t do like woodworking and art. It was a great feeling of accomplishment to come be able to make something that looked decent.
I love making a list of things I want to accomplish. I usually finish most of them, even though I usually lose the list for a while.
I never do a bucket list. I always try and live every day to the fullest and participate in anything new and exciting. Life is short and fragile so do it now, with enthusiasm!
Yes! My husband and I do one every New Years Day morning of big and small projects we want to get done around the house. Like painting, changing light fixtures etc. Suprisingly, most gets done! I make one in my craft room for UFO’s, quilts for new babies coming and Homemade Christmas gifts. I’m less successful with that list because I am always off to something new! Happy New Year and I love your fabrics!
Sandy
I have never made a bucket list for the year but do think it is a good idea. I keep collecting fabric and ideas but need a push to get going as I don’t have a lot of time. I am a special ed teacher.
Last year 2017 in June we did one of my bucket lists. We came from Australia to Charleston SC. This has been on my list for years and it was fabulous.
Chelsea is so adorable. I hope she gets her pink convertible and chauffeur… my dog did not like the lid down when we had a little 206CC, hope Chelsea gets more enjoyment out of hers. I like the things on her bucket list hope she achieves some of them. Hope you do too. Love your blog it is an oasis of ‘lovely’ in a sometimes pretty awful world. Thank you and Happy New Year.
I love making a bucket list each year. What I do in early January is to make a list of what I would like to accomplish in that year. It’s usually more about time management than anything. Like I really want to finish that Bunny Hill Christmas quilt before this year is out. I actually did organize my photos…I would start off in January and when I would get tired of it I would put it all away and start again the following January. It too me 3 years, but it is now done.
I do make a bucket list each year – sometimes I even get to check things off!
Yes, I have made a bucket list and have managed to get to all of them except for one, mostly with help of friends and groups I traveled with such as the Traveling Quilters. I made it to Houston, to Charleston, to Savannah, to the islands in Puget Sound, to High Tea at the Hotel now owned by the Hilton in Vancouver British Colombia, but didn’t make it to the famous gardens also in Vancouver because of the ferry schedule. Maybe this year.
Hello Anne. Never got to the bucket list, but I think Chelsea has GREAT expectations! Did you notice that she did not say with which Queen she would have a biscuit? There’s your chance to check one item…
I have never done a bucket list. This year I have to finish 2 princess quilts, a baby quilt, a twin size Peanuts quilt. I also want to make a coupke of lityle quilts for my cat to go in her places she like to nap in. And I want to make some charity quilts. And explore picture quilts for myself.
I have never done a “bucket list” but it is a good idea. I have a mental list of things that I should do such as: label my quilts, keep track of fabric used in a quilt in case I run out, take pictures of completed quilts, organize my scraps, clean sewing room between projects… it sounds good, right? LOL
I never have done abucket list, but i’m thinking i should since i accomplished nothing last year!
I’ve never made a bucket list. I like the idea of making one, even if only to see how my goals and plans have changed through the year. There is a list of quilts if like to make, stored in my head…does that count?
I’ve have a bucket list for places I want to go. But I think it would be a great idea for projects I want to do or finish! That’s what I’ll do for some of my quilting/crafting projects that I want to be sure to get to! Thank you!
Never made a bucket list. I think it would be like pressure hanging on my shoulders. I do think of lots that I want to accomplish and like you one of them is to organize my photos. Big Job!!!
On a side note: I entered and then read all the comments. I’m amazed at how many followers do not make a list. A list makes me feel secure. The list is written in chalk on my kitty chaulk board. Easy to erase and add things. I strongly urge my Quilting sisters to have a list of important things you want to finish. Start with a project that is almost done and work down to the project waiting to be cut. I guarantee you will feel a sense of pride and accomplishment when you see things marked off. Just my two cents worth.
Love,
Mary
Happy New Year Ann & Chelsea!
Yes, I have a bucket list. After the year, I cross out what I have not accomplished and put them on the new list. I do this not only to rid myself of guilt for not finishing them but to remind myself there is still HOPE. I don’t ever want to give up so I have to believe in hope. Yes, someday the projects will get done but I don’t want to beat myself up if their not done on schedule.
Love,
Mary
This is the first year of doing a bucket list. I have big plans! :}
I have been too busy with life NOW to make a bucket list. lol
My bucket list is to keep up with my quilting goals and to keep working on my needle turn appliqué. I am just learning and am loving it.
Yes I do do a list each year–some years like last year I am more sucessful than other years-On this years list starting today is to work on handquilting one of your bom quilts–hand quilting for 30 minutes or more each day!!!
enjoy the moments, diane
I love to make lists of all kinds. Not all get checked off!!
I don’t have a bucket list and never have, but if that is something that motivates you, I say, “Go for it”. This past year, my grandson and I were in an auto accident (not too serious) (except for my car, which was totaled), and, as we were being taken to the hosp in an ambulance, the paramedic said, “Well, you can check this off your bucket list”. Ummm. Not on my (nonexistent) bucket list. He explanined that a ride in an ambulance is on many people’s bucket list. Hm. I do make resolutions each year, about things that are really important to me, kind of like guiding words that others have (simplicity, kindness), and my resolution this year is to reduce the amount of plastic I use.
If you want to get motivated with good ideas for organizing things that are important to you, I suggest you visit the Cupcakes and Daisies blog. Thelma had a significant birthday in 2017, and set out at the beginning of the year what she wanted to accomplish (along the lines of travel and quilting), and it appears she had a great year.
I would like to suggest that, as far as organizing goes, you set aside some time for yourself. I imagine that you are one of those women who does so much for others. While that is very rewarding, you may realize at the end of the year, that you have supported others but haven’t filled that spot in yourself that needs refreshing.
As for Chelsea, a fluffy new bed sounds perfect. And so do-able. Yea! An easy accomplishment!
In any case, I hope you and your family have a wonderful year, and I want to take this opportunity to let you know how much I have enjoyed using your patterns and fabrics. Best wishes in 2018!
Bucket list is much more positive that resolution list. I will rethink and rewrite now.
Well, first on my list is to not be late (like I am with this comment), second is to spend more time sewing and less crocheting. I made a quilted pillow for my boss and had sew much fun! But, mainly to be happy, healthy, kind and live 2018 for God! Laura
I haven’t made bucket lists. I think of a bucket list as very long term goals or things I’d like to do or accomplish. I do make lists pretty much every day. I know I’ve been a list maker since my Freshman year of high school. I’m not sure before that but I am a long long way from my high school years!! I love my lists!
I haven’t written a bucket list, but I do have a mental list of a few things I’d love to do “someday”
No bucket list but encouraged to finish each project I start
I think this year I will do a bucket list of places & events I would like to visit. That way i’ll have a plan. Also I am going to make one for my ufos & new project I will be working on. I am going to plan on at least 10mins a day to work on projects that way I know once I start it will be longer
I have made a bucket list and I just keep adding to it each year.
I did a UFO list one year and did accomplish 3 of the items on the list of 12!
A bucket list sounds great – at my age, I have almost completed my bucket list! What’s left is just to live to the fullest everyday & feel blessed for my accomplishments!
I need a bucket list! I have goals but I think it’s time for a bucket list! Happy New Year🎉
I have not created a bucket list but I have made New Years resolutions and I have been doing the APQ UFO challenge for the past few years. I do think it’s important to take stock in where you are in life and where you are headed. This year I am going to keep track of things coming in the house and things going out. Hopefully, more will be going out!
A bucket list is a necessity! I find my list getting shorter each year, but I keep striving.
I have always made a bucket list n New Years resolutions. The first thing on my bucket list is to help my son graduate from college so I can make his room into my sewing/craft room! I also have several sewing projects going on at once and have to concentrate on completing one at a time, so they don’t keep piling up. I did complete my two year quilt of “I Believe In Angels.” This quilt survived the Butte fire in California. Feel very Blessed! My goals are to stay healthy, quilt, and do the things that make me happy and not worrie about the little things in life!
I try to keep a quilting project list, but not year to year. I separate by what I’ve started and what I have to start in the future…I have many kits. I did finish your Autumn Houses after many years…
A bucket list is a necessity! I find that things are more likely to get done if they’re written down. My list gets shorter and more reasonable each year, but I keep striving.
I have never made an official bucket list, but time is marching on, so I think 2018 will be the year to do so. Maybe a “dream” bucket list and a more realistic one.
A Bucket List! Sure seems like a good idea! I should add it to my list of “Things to Do”!
Bucket lists are the way to go. It is wonderful to see what I accomplish and what needs to be reviewed. That Chelsea is one smart gal. I think the new bed is a great idea. Happy New Year!!
I have little on my bucket list. I live simply, and try to enjoy the smallest of things, or events on a daily basis.
I have never felt the need for a bucket list, but everyday I strive to improve my sewing, applique and Embroidery skills. By January I have a large pile of scraps that I cannot toss, so I cut up into log-cabin strips, so hopefully one year I can make several scrappy log cabin quilts for charity!
Although i don’t usually write it down, i do usually make a mental list. It’s definitely helpful to have some long term goals. Happy New Year!
I love lists! I don’t do much in the way of bucket lists though…more in a “what can I accomplish today” kind of lists. Thank you for the sweet giveaway! Happy New Year to you and Chelsea and the rest of your crew!
Hmmm. I’ve made Bucket Lists before but I’m not good at keeping up with lists or a straight and focused path…. so I have found that I enjoy keeping a record of things I’ve done and places I’ve gone. My husband enjoys planning trips and keeps in mind what I delight in doing… Maybe Pinterest is my ongoing bucket list :) Loved reading the responses. I don’t think I’ve ever read all the comments to a blog….but these were great!
I’m a lot like Chelsea, getting up there in years (70)in May. While I had goals, I have never had a bucket list until this year. I have only two item in my bucket at this time. The first being learning Tai Chi. and becoming accomplished at it. I have to do that to be able to start number two, the one I want to do most, taking ballroom dance lessons. Hopefully I’ll be able to achieve #2 by 2019. We will see.
Hope you have a great 2019.
Not much of a bucket list kinda girl but I do write down some goals that I truly strive to achieve. Tackling my gianormous UFO list is my main goal for my QuiltCave. I’d LOVE to be one of your lucky 12💗🐰💗
I’ve had a bucket list most of my adult life….I keep adding to it. But at this point I’m with Chelsea, a fluffy new bed would be enough. I’ve decided my photos will never be fully organized, so I’ll leave that to my kids knowing for sure it will never happen ;) Today I thought I would start the new year by organizing a room that has collected lots of random stuff. But then my husband pointed out that there’s a Harry Potter marathon on tv and even though we own the complete dvd set, we’re going to be very lazy and enjoy some movie time. Seems like a good start to the new year, since we watched The Thin Man marathon last night. Happy New Year, Anne!
I have only made mental bucket lists. I have accomplished some of the things on it, but not much. Last year, I promised myself, also, that I would quilt as many of the quilt tops that I had already made. I completed 6 or 7!! That was good for me. I will try to finish more in 2018, while also working on new quilts. I love quilt making!!!
I usually have general aims for the coming year, but usually not a concrete list. Last year I wanted to finish UFO’s and I did not get far, so today I will be sitting down to make a modest (?) list of what projects/quilts I want to complete during all of 2018. I may well add some deadlines to increase my chance of success! Good luck with yours — and Happy New Year!
I have never done a bucket list. I did make a resolution for this year however: to sew more and stop hoarding fabric because I love it too much. Do other people do that?
The closest I’ve come to a bucket list is a UFO list of quilt projects I wrote 2 years ago. After scouring my sewing room, I came up with an overwhelming 24 projects from quilt tops that needed quilting and half-done embroidery scenes to stacks of pretty blocks begun when a friend announced her pregnancy. Some went back a dozen years! Just creating the list was eye-opening and made me realize I needed to change the way I think about what I really want to accomplish creatively. To date, I’ve finished 3 (and crossed them off the list!), have worked on another couple, put 6 in a “take-it-or-leave-it” pile at my quilt guild meeting and, incredibly enough, begun probably another 15 projects! The good news is, I’m never bored :-) Happy New Year and welcome to another year of creativity!
I have never made a bucket list, but I do think it is a good idea. I like the idea of reviewing every year so as to see your progress and update as needed.
I’ve never made a bucket list, but I’ve made tons of wish list! Lol….Wishing they would all come true!!!
I do generate “lists.” I’m not sure that I consider them to be “Bucket Lists” however. Many times I make daily lists or weekly lists. These usually get completed. As for a Bucket List/UFO List, that is questionable. Sometimes it is created within my head; last year it was written down. A couple of items were completed, eight others were not. Other items, more important, snuck in and were completed. That same list will carry over into 2018, with a few adjustments. Hopefully, more will be completed this year.
Happy New Year!
I make a bucket list of quilts I want to make but have never made a more general one. It’s a good idea, and you may have inspired me to do one. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! My bucket list starts with-add borders to Rabbits Prefer Chocolates and hang in time for Easter!
I have never done a bucket list and I probably should. I would get more things accomplished and finished if I did. Thank you for this great giveaway! Happy New Year!
Yes, I have a bucket list of things I want to do. It’s so much fun to try to do one, a really special one and then hold it dear to your heart!
I have never done a “bucket list” but have started writing a journal type notebook of things I have accomplished…more in lines with the quilt I’m working on, knitting I am doing or books I have read. It’s more for inspiration and a feeling of accomplishment since it does sometimes seem like it takes forever to finish projects ;o)
No bucket list, but always lots of other lists. I love lists!
I don’t make a yearly bucket list, but I do have a list of things that I would like to do. Most of them involve travel.
This is my first year making a list so guess I’ll see how it works. Have already printed out a new BOM for 2018, so not starting out to well!
My goal for this year is to Finish projects!
I think a bucket list is a great starting point for the year – tho I rarely cross off everything on my list, it does give me direction and goals!
I’ve never done a bucket list, maybe I’ll try one for 2018!
I have a mental bucket list but it isn’t written down.
Being the procrastinator that I am, my bucket list won’t be ready this year! Maybe next?!! Judy R
I have a permanent bucket list and try to do at least one thing each year that is low or no cost and one thing that requires more. Thanks for asking!
Yes, I made a bucket list of UFO’s for 2018 (several Bunny Hill’s on the list). I probably should be ashamed of myself, for starting five and finishing one. Hence, my bucket list gets bigger! I love being being able to at least check off some. It makes me feel good. Love to applique, quilt, embroider, wool, crosstitch, read, and cook. Did I say clean? Took that off the list, lol. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for all of us in 2018. Happy New Year!
Never did a bucket list. Set a couple of goals but never enough to stress me out. My problem is I’m and over achiever and if I made a true bucket list I’d make myself crazy.
P.S. Thanks for the lovely giveaway!
I’ve never done a bucket list because I can’t ever seem to finish my daily list :) I’ve joined ‘The Bowl Full of Lemons’ FB group for 2018 and I can’t wait to start household organizing along with them! Once I get that done, it’s off to Yellowstone!!!
Happy New Year and blessings to you! I haven’t really made a bucket list but there many quilts I would love to make and several places in the world I would like to visit before I am to old to enjoy it.
I always go thru my sewing supplies and see what ufos I want to finish for next year and organize my sewing areas. I also go thru and see what I can donate to the local quilt show sale room. I always feel better when I can mark off a ufo from my list and feel more organized
I have done a bucket list and it only has one thing on it. To see the US of A. Happy New Year.
I think having one is a good thing, I love checking things off my list!
I had one thing on my list in 2001. To make a quilt. Now I have enough fabric to open my own store…😁
I do have a UFO list that I have been working on since I gutted my sewing room a few years ago. Things are getting completed, but it’s usually one UFO to two new things added. Still, the list is getting smaller. In fact, 2018, I am down to only one page rather than three. It’s good to see what there is that needs to be done. It gives you incentive. Happy New Year!
I do monthly bucket lists. I find it works better for me to keep things relevant and I accomplish more!
Instead of a bucket list a living list that gets revised every season. So there more like goals. And placing it somewhere where you can see it to help remind you about it.
I’ve never made a bucket list, but I should! It’s a great idea.
I don’t have a bucket list. I would hate to see the things that I couldn’t accomplish…
I have never done a bucket list but will do one this year to keep myself on task. So easily distracted…..
I have never done a bucket list but am always doing UFO lists for all the projects I want to accomplish in a year-of course many of them just keep getting rolled over to the next year!! Happy New Year! and many Blessings!
I’ve never done a bucket list because I know there are things I’ll never be able to accomplish, mostly due to money or time constraints. Instead I try to grab every opportunity that comes my way. As a result, I’ve seen and experienced some wonderful moments in my life that I might have missed if I was focused solely on a bucket list!
A new year brimming with new opportunities! No better way to begin than with gifted fabrics!
I have made a bucket list and rarely get it accomplished. I like it because it does make me aware of all the things I love to do and look forward to accomplishing. It also helps me to prioritize a bit.
I do make a bucket list–kind of keeps me on track as long as it doesn’t get buried under a pile of fabric!
Good morning, brand new year. Yes, I have a bucket list and although not everything gets accomplished, I find it keeps me on track. I have carried over a few things from 2017, and have added a few more for 2018. Now I’d best get started.
Greetings from cold Northern Saskatchewan Canada!!
I love bucket lists!! Or goals. It’s good to have dreams. It’s ok if some are unrealistic too!!
Chelsea – hold on to that dream of the pink convertible!!
As I have gotten older and my girls have grown – there are things that I now think about doing that I didn’t before. I usually don’t do lists except for the grocery store but have a mental list of things that I would like to do, places to go. I may jus make this a new thing for me for 2018. Of course I do have a list of UFO’s that I try to work on and keep track of. Maybe this year I can make a bigger dent.
I have a mental bucket list – never actually written it down. But I have crossed a few things off of it! Went to Ireland and England!
I have never done one, but I think it is a good idea~
I’ve tried making lists and notorious for losing them. Now, I just track my projects, completed or in progress on my phone. Then, I can review the year’s successful completions. Love the Bunny Hill designs. Thanks for writing your blog, Anne. Happy New Year!!
I don’t have a bucket list, but I think they are a great idea. I do have an ever growing list of quilts, in my head, that I want o make! Happy New Year!!!
I am starting the New Year with cleaning and organizing my kitchen cupboards. Yep, a daunting task, but I am up for the challange. :)
Never done a bucket list. I plan on taking on 2018 like it is my last. I want to challenge myself and grow this year.
No I’ve never made a bucket list, but plenty of lists of things to do-family outings with my 4 grandsons especially! I usually do pretty good with my lists and by the end of the year I gave many more items to add to next year’s! Blessings and happy New Year!
I have a list and many of the things on yours are on mine (like a week with my camera and traveling the French countryside) and even one from Chelsea’s list. Alas, I haven’t made a whole lot of progress either. I start anew today 😻
I have never done a yearly bucket list but last year I started bullet journaling and I had a monthly bucket list of simple pleasures…try a new recipe, go to a new restaurant, go someplace new (museum, shop, etc), and call/visit/write an old friend. It was alot of fun and got me to accomplish new things every month.
I’ve never done/made a formal bucket list. However, there are many things I wish to do and see. These items sometimes change in terms of importance; some are added and some are dropped.
I did a bucket list for my 50th bday. I have accomplished 1 thing on it! As for a yearly one, I gave that up a while back!!
I have never made a bucket list although I have many lists floating around in my head. Bucket lists are good for you. You should always have a some sort of goal in mind to keep you going.
I’m afraid to do a bucket list…..I’m a confirmed procrastinator. I’m ok with that, but saying that…this is the year I’m going to simplify my household. De clutter, is my motto. Wish me luck, got to take the Christmas tree down as my first act of the new year! Thank you for all you do for us ❤️
Never have done a bucket list. But a ton of different lists. A new list each day of things that I need to do and at the end of the list a little wish list that are the things I would like to do such as sewing. A list helps me to keep from getting distracted and keep going.
I haven’t made a bucket list but i have thought about it! I think setting goals for the new year and a bucket list would be 2?different things. I could add or take away things on the bucket list. It would be for things i would like to expirence in my lifetime. Thanks for the chance!
I personally like to call my list “unresolved issues”. I either add or delete each year as some become “unachivieable”, others need to be slightly rewritten and new ridiculous ambitions created. I am still carrying around that ten pounds on the list for ten years, but by now I have accepted them and the pants fit. I am definitely making headway and one day I hope to break even. I will not add or delete – IMHO. JudyCinNC
I think a bucket list is a great idea! I haven’t made one yet but maybe I will this year.
I have not made a bucket list, unless you consider To-Do lists, bucket lists. I made a list of projects to complete. Rabbits Prefer Chocolate and Merry, Merry Snowmen were on it. If they were the only two, I would have been 60% successful. Rabbits is done, quilted and hung up for a few months. Yippee for me. And Merry has all the background blocks pieced and all the fusing done. 5 blocks are buttonhole stitched and waiting on the extra embroidery. I think that counts as 60% don’t you. Tell Chelsea, we love her and her Bucket List. Happy New Year to all of you, that includes the new kitties. Keep the inspirations coming.
I don’t usually make resolutions or have a bucket list – too much pressure! I do, however, try to find joy in small things and try to be content with what I have. Doing a small act of kindness to make someone else’s day a bit better is time well spent and a day well done!
I do make bucket lists–I have the longer term bucket list–that includes things like see Andrea Bocelli (did that in 2017)and where I might travel, and also the annual bucket list that includes getting in better shape, being more organized and deciding on how many read books to shoot for, and how many quilts to complete. Hope you have a happy New Year!
Well, I used to be a constant list maker, just to be able to cross anything off, but have fallen off the wagon in that regard…and I need all the organization I can get, lol! Have never done as a bucket list, and think I need a lifetime one as I turn 65 next month…I know we want to visit all the national parks…not sure of much more than that!
I have never made a bucket list. Maybe I should, but I barely get everything done in the present, much less hope to get things done in the future!
I don’t make a bucket list, I make a short list of things I want to accomplish or try, but I don’t have any big grandiose plans.
Love the new web site! I have never made a bucket list, but what a good idea, I am trying it in 2018!
I do make a list to do each year. I try to include something new to learn and something to read and something to complete. I avoid unrealistic goals. I believe daily or weekly lists/goals keeps me on track to accomplish things.
I have done a bucket list! I did it when I retired and to date, very few items have been completed. Sad face!
I’ve not made a bucket list before, but I have set goals for the new year. I do like to start the new year with a clean and organized sewing room, because it helps me to start fresh.
I’ve made a bucket list of things I’d like to see, attend, or participate in to improve my quilting skill. Some are a real stretch–but It’s a true wish list! Happy New Year!
A bucket list is a great idea! I never complete mine totally – but it sure feels good to check off the things that I do get done!
Happy New Year!! WOW! It’s 2018!!
Whether you call it a bucket list or a to do list. Yes I’ve done them and then life happens!
I don’t make a bucket list but I am a list maker. The 2018 list is still a work in progress. I do not feel bad if I have to bring something forward from a previous year. That insures that even though I did not get it done I still can. Happy New Year!
Yes. A organization list is a big deal. Quilts that need to be delivered be but realistic goal. One a month. That’s sad because I have more than 12 to get done. :(
I have never done a bucket list. It sounds like a better idea than making a New Year’s resolution.
I’ve made mental lists but nothing specific. Just more time for sewing!!!
I have made bucket lists in the past and it is amazing how many things get accomplished by writing them down.
I have a bucket list that slowly gets worked through but the idea of having a yearly one is cool. Will have to give that some thought.
My bucket list has the same thing each year – organize my sewing room and finish UFOs. Somehow it never happens.
Not sure about a “bucket” list. Last year I pulled out all my UFO’s and aimed to finish them all, but I only got a quarter of the way down the list!!
Yes I have done lots of bucket lists and never completed all of them
I’ve never made a bucket list but I am inspired by you to do one today, New Year’s Day. I know that organizing photos will be on my list also along with quilting projects, organizing, etc. I believe it should be reviewed throughout the year to remind you to get you item completed (or at least a few of them).
Thank you for the great idea. Happy New Year 2018!
I’ve never done a formal bucket list, but I do enjoy looking back and seeing what I have accomplished. So, maybe this is the year to start one!!
Bucket lists are a great idea. Mine changes daily!
I’ve never made a “bucket list” but there are things I want to accomplish! I really need to finish some of my UFOs so I’m as an incentive, as I finish a project, I get to start a new one (and hopefully finish it.) Then finish another UFO, and start another project, etc!! Sounds like fun, huh?
I don’t have a physical bucket list but I do have a few thinks jotted down in my head. Does that count? I don’t have a yearly list either. Maybe I should try that and see if it works.
Yes, I have an on-going list for my projects which include quilting and many other loved needle arts! I wish there were more hours in the day to accomplish my list because I keep adding to it. I do think it’s a good idea to organize it and this year I plan to organize it better – a thought was to do it for the first 6 months of the year, check the list, and see what I accomplished. Then do a “new” list for the last 6 months for the year. I really want to do several Christmas ornaments (embroidery, quilted, x stitch), but because they take a lot of time I’m not sure if it’s better to just begin one now and keep plugging away at it or begin making them in June. Maybe my hours each day need to be organized – some for sewing and some for the other things such as hand sewing or sewing quilts…
I’ve never made a bucket list although I am a list maker or is that a maker of lists – there are times when I’ve needed an index for them. :) All the best for 2018!
My DH and I’s only bucket list was to visit every state in the US and this year we will travel to #50…so time for a new list…..
I never made a real bucket list because I know no matter how much I try I’ll never complite all the things on it and that’s just a depressing thing. I really plan for 2018 to make a Swoon quilt and loss some weight. Two goals that sound doable … at least I hope.
I have never done a bucket list. It has never appealed to me and I am not sure why!
I’ve never had much success with a yearly bucket list. I tend to think more in 5 year increments and my bucket list seems to consist of quilting projects and travel plans!
I usually write out a list and also set out a pile of projects I’d like to complete. It helps me stay focused on what I want/need to finish and it feels good to make that pile shrink in size over the year.
I do have a bucket list…in my head! At 75 time is of the Essenes!! But I have lots I want to accomplish this year in the quilting world. There are trips to quilt shows, retreats, UFOS, kits, cut quilts waiting, gifts ECT!! Now to my bucket list!!!
I’ve never done a bucket list but I always have monthly goals that I work to achieve. Thanks for a lovely giveaway and Happy New Year to you and Chelsea!
Yes, I’ve got a bucket list for both quilts and travel.
Definitely! And I have learned that there is immense pleasure in accomplishing a long held wished for project or trip. Don’t just delay it for “someday”…get it done, go there, enjoy!
I have not actually compiled a bucket list. I have said that there are things that I would like to put on a bucket list. I guess my bucket list would then be considered a UFO. By the way I was reading your blog and saw the book All in a Row. I love the bucket runners. Will have to see if I can still get this book, a must have.
Oh yes, I have done lists in the past and then get side tracked doing new projects that strike my fancy more than what is on the list. I have included some things that I have done, and must admit it is so satisfying to strike it off the list. My husband and I have several trips on our bucket list for 2018 – A trip to Kentucky to see the Ark and the Creation Museum, and two trips to Yorktown, Va for the July 4th celebration and the October 19 celebration. Other than that….its kind of just take life as it comes, something I have found to be my outlook on life since retirement.
I have a bucket list with many checked off. After being on life support for a week and family told to say their goodbyes I fooled them and am here today. Making quilts. Trying to get one made for all my family, even great grandchild and great nieces and nephews! I am one of 9 siblings so long list…. Thankful and blessed….
I’ve never made a bucket list at New Years but I do like the idea – better than resolutions.
I have never done a bucket list. I always wanted to. I always seem to make resolutions. Maybe the first item on my list should be to win the drawing. Happy New Year!
No, I’ve never done a bucket list. I have made lists to remind me to do things – like a change your routine list – with things like cook a new recipe at least twice a month, only watch TV for 4 hours…things like that. And I have a small list of large items I need to save for to keep my house maintained. But, as far as my life bucket list, I’m just winging it and trying to stay focused in the moment.
I make lists daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. It seems as soon as I cross something off a couple are added. As for my annual lists, some items get crossed off the others are revolving. i am a creative dreamer whose life keeps getting in the way. Life is too short we all need to take a step back every day and do what’s tugging our hearts.
I’ve never made a bucket list, but I do always look back to see what I’ve accomplished. That always seems to guide me in the right direction for the new year.
I’ve done a bucket list specifically targeting quilting my UFO’s and future projects. It helps me prioritize and stay focussed. I updated it the other day in preparation for 2018.
I don’t do a bucket list!
I need a bucket list! I have been having a hard time motivating myself lately, maybe a list would hold me accountable!
I’ve never done a bucket list but it sounds like a good idea, particularly as I get older. A yearly bucket list sounds like an excellent idea.
I have never made a bucket list but really feel it is a good idea – off to make a bucket list.
Not a bucket list, just a list to help keep me focused and on track.
I have a bucket list but not written down. Guess that would be good since I’m getting older and chances are I have forgotten some of them! So this is the year to write them down.
Never done a bucket list myself. With our hectic lives it may just make us slow down and take stock. I think it is a super idea
My bucket list is in my head, and I try to do one thing on it per year. My bucket list changes from year to year. Happy New Year!
Oh yes! I love bucketlists but prefer monthly ones.
My yearly bucketlist will get bigger each year cause of missing finishes. *lol*
Happy new year! I do make a bucket list and think it is very helpful to get things done! But I do not emotional stress on myself if it didn’t happen and just decide if I want to add it to the new list or if it is not important, lol! Thank you for the lovely idea to have a give away with those goodies!
I do a bucket list most years and like you things are still in the bucket BUT 2018 will be different I hope xx
I do have a bucket list, with hopefully realistic goals. I sometimes add a new one to my list. I need to get more organized, but I don’t have any tips even though I read a lot of tips! I think the most accomplisable one for me is to spend no more than 15 minutes a day in a room organizing it. And throw things away you haven’t used or needed for over a year.
I like to begin a list of the things to do for others throughout the year, projects I want to make, trips I want to take–the “revisiting” of it near the end of the year is revealing–much done, more always left to do–as long as we keep progressing in some way, life is well-lived :)
Happy New Year! I’m neither a bucket list nor resolution type. A “list” drives me crazy. My brain goes into overdrive thinking I have to complete the task now and when I fail I tend to beat myself up. Besides I can never find the list. I can’t tell you how many times I have made a grocery list to find myself at the grocery to discover the list is safely at home on my desk. LOL
I have never made a yearly bucket list. During busy times of the year I do tend to jot down my “to do” list. I do love crossing things off when accomplished. Maybe this year is the time to start a yearly list.
Not a believer of bucket lists. Prefer to let life lead me. Don’t get me wrong… I have plans. Like organizing my fabric stash, finish projects and those things that just get away as I’m enjoying life and retirement. Happy New Year!
Rather than create a bucket list for the new year, I fill my bucket with all of the blessings and accomplishments of the past year! Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year! Happy stitching!!
I’ve honestly never done a bucket list. I’m liking your idea of a yearly bucket list to review, just simple things though. I do have a word for the year though, this year mine is ‘focus’
A list is a great idea. Read it monthly to stay on task,
I’ve never written a bucket list, but I do feel it’s something I should consider doing…especially with the new year here.
Never do bucket lists. Just try to enjoy each day as it comes. When you’ve stared death in the face you tend to live day to day & make more short term goals.
I mostly have a travel bucket list, but I have other things in it…for example , I wanted to get back into riding again, and now have THREE horses…!
I never make a list because it makes me sad to see what I didn’t get done so gave up years ago.
A bucket List haven’t I done until now, but I always write down my goals at new year’s eve or at January 1st. This year I wrote down a “to-sew-list”, so that I hopefully can end some long waiting projects. I wish you a wonderful new year and all the best. Kirsten
No bucket list, maybe a list of goals for the year. Review it at the end of the year, why not? Goals are nice to strive for and hopefully reach, at least some of them!
I’ve never done a bucket list but thought about it for 2018. I think if I did do one I might get my ufo’s completed. A bucket list would keep me more organized in my every day chores. I feel like I do a lot of twirling some days.
I make a lot of to-do lists, not really bucket lists. I like to use lists to stay organized and for the feeling of accomplishment I get when things get marked off as finished!
I have not made a bucket list. I have been so blessed with friends and family and my life is complete. Just waiting to see what 2018 will bring! Happy New Year, Anne!
I haven’t done a bucket list and I find that all my good intentions of making a list in January of every year go buy the wayside by March. I would like to get organized this year and be better at keeping things where they belong.
Hello Anne,
I have for a view years a bucket list but I know already that I never can say I did everything.I trying to finish all my projects that I started and every year it’s getting more😊.
Happy new year,Trea
I have a small, hopefully manageable, bucket list. I have actually done two items on my list. I have visited Israel with my husband( added to the list is a fami, ymtrip eith kids and grands to Israel) ( I will need to hit the lottery, but that’s possible) and I was elected to public office. I still have about 10 items left!
No I have never done a bucket list, always too busy, but I have more time on my hands now so it seems like a nice idea….I am sure I will get to end of 2018 with lots of things not achieved, but it will be good to see those that were!
I did a bucket list years ago. I didn’t find it very useful…I found that my priorities had changed as the year went by, so most of it wasn’t appropriate any longer. I don’t have any ideas for organizing in 2018, but I would certainly be interested in hearing some. Happy New Year!
Oh, I tried the bucket list several years ago. At the end of the year I was disappointed that most of the items weren’t crossed off, but when I added in the things I had gotten done, it wasn’t too bad. But no, I’m not making a new list. I make lists, but only short term ones. Have a Happy New Year!
My bucket list for 2018 is to get a hat like Chelsea’s. I think I would
look so cool going into all the quilt shops, standing proud and saying “ this is the year of the Chelsea hat….sell me some Bunny hill fabric. “
And have a very Happy New Year!
I`’ve made New Year`s resolutions but not a bucket list.
I never make any kind of lists. Just try to be a better person!
That US a very good idea this List I make one every year. Happy 2018 from France!
No bucket list but lots of to do lists of projects that I dream of making!
I`ve made the list and keep to this for a time, then things get crazy and list seems to hide away. Hope this year`s better.
I have never done a bucket list but I think it’s a good idea to start one.
I have never made a bucket list, but it is enticing to see what I might come up with in the future. More power to you & adorable Chelsea. Hmmm, I wonder what my keeshond Anneke would come up with at 10 years old. I love your patterns and Anneke is right with me when I sew. Happy New Year to a wonderful inspirational lady!
My bucket lists are mostly sewing goals and I forget to look for it at the end of the year!!!
I have never created a bucket list but it is a fun idea! A new year is always such an inspiration for making changes in our lives. Finally starting an exercise program, lose weight, etc. etc. It must be so much easier to create a list when you have a friend like Chelsea to help you think it through. She looks very wise and always ready for a good time! Happy New Year to you both!!
I’ve never made an official bucket list, but there are certainly things that I would like to eventually do. Maybe this will be the year for me to make one!
Bucket list no but is a nice idea
I usually have a to do list but never wrote out a bucket list.
I can’t say that I have ever had a bucket list. I always have a list of projects to start, and hopefully, to complete. I have spent the last four days in my studio cleaning and getting rid of excess paper (those projects I will never do in my lifetime). Was able to empty two large 3-ring binders. Woohoo! Considered keeping a journal of finished projects, but that means I would have to know where it is when needed.
This is the first year that I’m actually making a list of things I’d like to accomplish – I’m hoping it keeps me heading in the right direction!
I don’t make bucket lists. I just keep moving from one thing to the next. I like to enjoy life one day at a time and hope it includes lots of sewing!
I’ve never made a bucket list before but, I think it’s time to start. You have inspired me. I’m going to make a list with my husband. As for organizing, ha ha, that is my biggest challenge and my New Years resolution.
I’ve set goals, mostly quilty goals, but I wouldn’t call the lists bucket lists. They do help me achieve more than I would otherwise, I think.
I have never made a bucket list but I have made resolutions. Maybe I need to change things up a bit
Happy New Year! Hi, 65 years old, 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and still going strong. I have never done a bucket list except in my mind. Finally, I get to retire to Sew, Sew and Sew! That’s my bucket list! I love being creative. Bringing my visions alive with fabric! I’m so excited!! I’ve never won anything except my wonderful family! I finally have a sewing room so in 2018 you know what I’ll be doing!!
Well, I’ve always called it a life list and it is without narrow time constraints. ( like a year..). Saw the three tenors and bicycled in France but my photos remain in boxes. I want to hear the Mormon tabernacle choir….but perhaps I’ll label a few photos first. Good luck with your list. Toni
Never have done a bucket list. Happy New Year.
Bucket lists give us hope, but can’t be taken too seriously if not accomplished otherwise hope could turn to disappointment….
I’ve never put a list down on paper, but I’ve always got “I’d like to list.” inside my head. My BIG idea for 2018 is to make a monthly goal. 12 different goals to try to complete. One for each month. The exciting part is I get to start fresh every month! I know organizing a few cupboards and closets will be on that list.
After surviving pancreatic cancer almost 5 years ago (!) I made a bucket list of the quilts I already owned pattern, fabric, etc for that I wanted to be sure I finished to see with my own eyes before my life ends. I am still chipping away at it but progressing!
I don’t do bucket lists. I have projects I want to complete, but their priorities shift. And lists for life seem too finite .
Always love seeing pictures of Chelsea! Happy New Year!
I’m Really really going to try and complete some of my UFO’s
The older I get, the more important a bucket list is to me. I think a yearly list & a lifetime list would be fun.
No official bucket list but would like to visit all the National Parks…..
I have not done a bucket list, however I do set goals and review/adjust as needed about every 6 months 😀. That basket looks like it has some fun things in it!
I do a list for quilts I want to do and have in progress – find it keep me on track and I think I get way more accomplished – plus there is something so rewarding about crossing something off the list. Of course, I keep adding to the list so it never gets shorter but I am getting so many of the “someday I want to make” quilts done. For the rest of life – no list – just enjoys what comes along or work my way through it – whichever applies.
I have never written a bucket list, maybe I will this year. I just keep thoughts in my mind.
Yes, i have done a bucket list. Last time i did one it made me have an anxiety attack. I have accomplished some of the works in progress, some i just took off the list cause i dont want to do them anymore, and I gave those away. Sure did take down my stash by giving away a bunch of fabric i no longer wanted to a lady who makes charity quilts. Now I have room for projects I want to do, such as your last Christmas quilt ;with the stockings. Happy New Year to you and to Chelsea. .
I DO have a bucket list….but not a big one. Most of it involves quilting related items, the rest is travel. One of the biggest items was fulfilled in 2015….went to Sisters OR quilt show.
I haven’t really written down a bucket list but I do have a mental one. Every time I accomplish one I announce to my family that I’ve completed something on my bucket list. For example, I’m afraid of heights and went zip lining while we were in Hawaii. I wasn’t going to let my fear ruin something I really wanted to do, even though I almost peed my pants! Thank you for the chance to win some goodies. Happy New Year!
I’ve thought about a bucket list. Maybe this year.
Just today my daughter (who lives in California) and I (who lives in Texas) discussed what was on our personal lists for the New Year. It’s funny how we have similar items to accomplish next year but different. The one thing that was very important for both of us was our promised to make more opportunities to visit by phone and in person, It’s always good to say how much we love each other in a conversation but it’s priceless to look in her eyes and hug her when saying it. <3
happy New Year to you and Chelsea. i have never made an official bucket list but make lists of unfinished quilt projects. Eventually I find the list buried under fabric and can maybe cross off one but console myself that I have started and finished projects that never made the list. This year is the “finish it year” For reals!!!lol
I haven’t done a bucket list, but have a few things that I really want to get done, sooner than later I think… I want to make a simple quilt for my young grand daughter, and finish a quilt top that my grandmother made many years ago. She sewed it all by hand with such tiny little stitches, and I treasure it so much. I think it is a good thing to write down the things that I want to get done this year, and make sure that I take time to work on them each month. Thank you for the encouragement.
I have made bucket lists but get distracted with day to day life and unexpected surprises. I think lists are great but being spontaneous is great too and sometimes more fun
I had a list of UFO and WIP on my old computer …even had a list of patterns & fabrics needed, plus threads & floss….lost it all when the computer crashed! I think it’s good to make a list~ even if you check off just a few items, it feels good to set goals. Happy New Year!
I’ve never done a bucket list, but I sure want to completely finish about a dozen quilts this year.
I have never done a bucket list… I do have a Tah-Dah list though. Hanging on my studio wall where I note what I’ve finished!!!
I love your work.
No bucket list on paper, but my mind is always spinning with quilt to do lists! Never enough time! Happy new year!
No, I have never made a bucket list, but I think it would be a good idea. As I get older I seem to do less…so I accomplish less, It might motivate me, I don’t want to fail….I’m going to keep it realistic but not too easy. I’ve always wanted to have a quilting project published in a magazine. OK, that may be the start of my bucket list and probably the hardest to cross off. I’ll give it some thought tomorrow and hopefully I can come up with a short list.
Happy New Year Anne, all the best in 2018!
I have a list for this year. Had one last year and completed all 12 not all were on my list as babies, and weddings got in the way. It felt so good to get back to quilting after 2 years of cancer treatments. Hopefully I can stay on task this year too. The other thing on my list is to enjoy life and continue to teach my to granddaughters to sew and quilt.
I love to dream and wish! Why not! Some days our lives and world can seem overwhelming so quilting and/or planning a new adventure can be calming!
I have an UFO list and it helps me focus on those unfinished projects! January 1st is a great day to meditate and think about plans for 2918! Happy New Year to you and your family!
Debbie Highcock
My bucket list is mainly to enjoy each day…..travel when the opportunity presents itself & not wait for retirement. So far my husband & I have had some wonderful adventures! We thank God for those opportunities and those in the future! Happy New Year!
I have never made a bucket list but it sounds like a good idea that might help me to make an inroad in some of my unfinished projects!!!
I have tried to make a list, but I just do not do well with lists! I did much better with lists when I was younger.
I love lists! They can be project lists, organization lists or bucket lists. I have made them all and completed most of them. This year I am concentrating on my UFO’s.
My bucket list usually just includes the quilts I want to make in the next year. And the organization I want to do. I know this is not truly a bucket list but more of a to do list.
I love bunny hill😁 my sewing room theme is Bunnies. 😆😜🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇
The first think on my list is to organize my sewing room. It is very small and the first one I’ve ever had! Now to find room for everything. Second is to finish a couple of Christmas quilts before Valentine’s day! Love your products.
My bucket list is very short, only two things on it. This summer I managed, with the help of my hubby (pilot) to do one. We flew through Western Brook Gorge, part of Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland, Canada. Truly Awesome!!!
I’ve never made a list but I’m thinking about it this year ! It might help me to accomplish a couple of goals lol! Like this year I only got half my Christmas ” to dos ” completed. I’ll let you know if it helps 💕
I really don’t make a bucket list, but do occasionally make short lists to work on for the month. Not everything gets completed. Seems I don’t need the bucket list, all I have to do is walk into my sewing room and the all that should be on the list jumps out at me and says, “pick me next.” For 2018 my goal is to organize my sewing room which is long, long overdue.
I finally graduated in 2017 from college at 54 and my bestie gave ma a small bucket with these little cards to put what I wanted to do. The first thing I wrote was to visit New England. The next week was my graduation and my husband and daughter gave me a trip with my daughter to Salem, Mass. which I have always wanted to go! I think I am a believer of making a bucket list because you never know when others can make some of those events happen!
Happy New Year
Chelsea is so adorable and I totally cracked up at her bucket list!! I don’t have one, but y’all have inspired me to make one. I think it’s a great idea to review the bucket list and check off things you’ve done, or remove things that now don’t sound like something you want to do!! Thanks for the laugh and for the giveaway!! Happy New Year!!!
I have done a bucket list and need to start another one…. sometimes it helps me keep focused. I like to keep a list of my shortest term projects… middle of the road projects and then what I consider some that will take time to complete…. my EPP projects tend to be my long term projects for the most part. Sometimes it’s good to review projects… I have on rare occasion a project that for one reason or another I’m no longer interested in… it’s better if I make that decision and move on. With a list like that that extends over the year I find easier to accomplish more. My long term projects move on to another year but that’s ok as I am making progress. It’s fun to cross off the complete ones. Being a pretty compulsive person makes it easy for me to keep my projects organized along with my sewing room and I find it gives me the time to add in a few things that have come along over time to squeeze in and complete during the year. My goal when I retired was to quilt every day and so far I’m right on track.
I have never done a bucket list. I have done lists of projects i want to do. Going to do this again this year as I got a tad disorganised and the year ran away with me ;) lol
I never have a formal bucket list but I have a list of things that I’d like to accomplish in the new year. You’ve got me thinking that I should write things down and have a timeline for each one. Might help The procrastinating!
I have never done a bucket list. I fly by the seat of my pants. Sometimes that means I don’t get as much does as I could if I had a plan. Perhaps this year I will make a list and see how that goes.
I don’t make bucket list I do have an idea and plans that I hope I can accomplish over the next year. I have finished 2 Bunny Hill quilts and have 1 in the process of being finished. I love the holiday quilts.
I think a bucket list would be a reminder of dreams I would love to have come true. I might give it a”try” this year. Dreams do come true……
I have not really tried a bucket list, it would be interesting to see if I could finish it, but there is so much out there to finish.
I made a list of all my quilting projects before attending a quilt show one year so I would limit my spending 😊 it didn’t help😞 I still found lots of treasures ❤️ To follow me home!
its nice to have a helper. lovely basket of goodies. I hope you have a great new year.
No bucket list! I do have a list of all my to do quilts projects. Oh my!
I always make lists…they help keep me on track and focused (sometimes a huge challenge for me!). Not everything gets accomplished when I’d like but if it’s important enough, it gets done sooner or later. They also help keep things in perspective. (Spooky Halloween WILL be done by Halloween 2018! ;-) Happy New Year!
I don’t really like to make New Years resolutions as it seems I can’t ever keep them! The only resolution I plan on making is to ‘Quilt more’. Thanks for the chance to win a goodie bag!
I have never done a bucket list, but I think it is something to start this year. It takes courage because I will be pushing myself to try new ideas!
I have made a bucket list and update it every year, taking off the things I have completed and adding those new things for the coming year. I also keep a status page for my quilt projects, to let me see at a glance what needs to be done next to complete that project, whether it be appliqué, quilting, binding, etc. Since I am a visual person, it helps to have this status page right in front of me, so I get more accomplished without having to scour through a box or project bag before working on that project I want to complete. I think bucket lists and status pages are great and recommend them.
My list tends to be in my head but I do know benefit of writing it down. So you can cross it off! Love Bunny Hill, just adorable.
I’ve never done a bucket list, but this year I have accomplished several things I never thought I would and at the top of the list is scuba diving certification and many subsequent dives in Mexico!
Oh my!! I made a bucket list one time and decided I should make it ten items long, that that would be a good start …
Two things happened: I kept wanting to add to the list and had myself very frustrated because I was still trying to limit it to ten items, and the second? I put the bucket list in the circular file and decided to just keep my temporary list that I can add to, scratch off, change, etc.
Less frustration, more goals sometimes…less goals sometimes… I’m okay with that!! Life happens!! 😜🌻
I don’t usually make “life” bucket lists. I prefer quilt bucket lists. I see a pic of a quilt & I say “ yep, add that to the bucket list to make” ! That list is so long I’ll probably never get to 1/2 of it in my lifetime but I can dream, 🙄😉 Happy New Year! 🎆🎈🎈🎊
No bucket list, though maybe it’s time. I’ve made resolutions and have even kept a few for years. This year, it’s to finish more projects than I start. . . And to smile more.
I always make a bucket list!! Most of the time I accomplish a majority of the items, some are an ongoing issue!!
I’ve never made a bucket list, but perhaps I should as it might motivate me…maybe that should be my New Years resokution! Of course, I have lots of things I’d still like to make, I’m a quilter after all!
Now that I turned 60 I finally am making a bucket list. Should’ve done this long ago!
I don’t make a bucket list but I do make a list of all the people I want to keep in touch with as each new year begins. I try to call, email or hand write notes to family and dear friends near and far. Happy 2018 to all. 🎉
I don’t like resolutions, but I do set creative goals for myself each year. One year it was to learn fair isle knitting, another to make scrap quilts. My goals for 2018 are to complete 4 quilt tops and a knitted cowl/wrap for my daughter.
I’ve never actually written down a bucket list but I have some ideas of what would be on mine. Maybe that should be my first task in 2018! Happy New Year Anne and Chelsea!!
I made my bucket list (not a yearly one) a long time ago. It is posted on my refrigerator where I can look at it and be inspired. I’ve marked off a couple of things. I am now 74 and probably won’t get to see the Northern Lights again as I did as a child in the summer on the shores of Lake Mendota in Madison, WI (#1 on my list). Most of the things I will most likely never do, but the list still makes me smile and makes me hopeful. I am glad I made the list and I think everyone should make one for themselves.
I have an informal bucket list that I keep in my head. Some things never get fully checked off (i.e. “Be a better/kinder person” – I think there is always room for improvement) – in 2017 I wS able to check off going to Green Bay to see the Ravens play the Packers.
No other organizing ideas, except that I need to downsize my quilting/crafting supplies.
Happy New Year!
Lists! Bucket, daily, monthly, yearly …. there are so many things I want to do! Chelsea is a great sport … she knows all good things come to those who wait! Tomorrow I’ll do my 2018 list. I was fortunate enough to have this past week off from work and finished a few things on my 2017 list. I always have goals of things I’d like to accomplish! Wishing you and yours a fabulous 2018, Anne! Thanks so much for the opportunity!!
I have never done a bucket list but am going to start a yearly one this year!
I haven’t done a bucket list, formally. I kinda keep a running list in my head…some get done, some I toss, the rest I work on another time. I might do better if I wrote them down…maybe this year! Happy New Year to you!
It is something that I think about , and then decide if it is truly something I desire or just wishful thinking. I don’t have it written down somewhere, it is just in-my head. If it spends enough time there(it could be any amount of time) I go do it.
I compare it to quilting…if a pattern,or fabric lingers in my head and I find I truly can’t pass it up or needs to be done, then I will buy/purchase it.
First on my bucket list for 2018…to win a treat bag from Bunny Hill Designs!
I do have a bucket list, a don’t wait, do it now bucket list! My goal for 2018 is to get my sewing room organized. All the best to you in 2018.
My bucket list is ever changing so it’s never written. I view each day as an opportunity to experience as much as the day gives me to do that is boring, exciting or even mundane. And always take at least one moment to be grateful for all I’ve done during that day.
Never a bucket list but many list to get everything done. If it’s not on my list I add it after I’ve done it.
I become less organized the older I get. But, I do have a bucket list. My most important resolution this year is to be kinder to myself. I am very critical of myself and tend to be a perfectionist. It is time to admit at 65 that I am not perfect and to just enjoy life whatever it brings. Happy new year. I love your designs.
I’ve never done a bucket list, but may have to in order to get things prioritized! I don’t like look-backs, because I seem to see what I didn’t get done instead of all I accomplished. Lists tend to make me stressed, so I try not to make any. I want the project to be fun, not stressful!
Happy New Year to you and Chelsea (and your other furbabies, too!) Hope Chelsea gets her soft bed. :)
I don’t make a bucket list. I have things that I want to accomplish but if I don’t, I will still be happy. I am such a procrastinator but I hope to break out of that bad habit this year (so maybe that is my bucket list). I want to finish all of the wips that I have laying over the stair rail in my sewing room and then I will feel comfortable starting something new. I already have the new project picked out (a Christmas gift, of course).
I have never done a bucket list . I’m not always good at finishing things so I don’t start lists . It helps the frustration factor from happening so often. Happy New Year! Thanks for the giveaway.
I have made a list several times not vey good at sticking with it
Happy New Year!!! Never done a bucket list but I think it would be a great thing to do. For 2018….spend more time enjoying the small things and take better care of myself. 🎉🎉🎉
I think bucket lists make us reflect and categorize….which is good! But only write it in pencil…..that is why they have erasers! Re-evaluate in six months and revise! Happy New Year!
Last year I wrote a list of quilts I wanted to complete. The year started out great and I completed six!! Then I probably started another six and didn’t complete anymore. Hahaha!! Think I better go write a new list.😃
I find if I write the list I am very likely to complete the listed task or journey. I love to mark off the completed item!!! Very motivating.
I agree Marlene. I love making lists and it’s on of my goals for 2018 to keep it up.
I have never made a bucket list, mainly because I am a procrastinator! Maybe I should start one by making #1 “Make a Bucket List”!
I have made bucket lists: Martha’s Vineyard (check), Crabapple Hill Retreat (check), other retreats (open still), bind my French braid tree skirt, Will and Lily quilts, etc. I moved my Will and Lily quilts to my clothes closet so I see them every day! 2018 will see them finished!!
Not exactly a bucket list … no must dos. Just a group of positive thoughts and plans that I hope to implement to help steer me through the year. Of course much revolves around friends and quilting.
Whenever I do something special, I call it a bucket list item. However, I don’t have a list made ahead of time….it just unfolds with life’s blessings.
I have never made a bucket list but i think this would be the time to start one as i have many tops that need to be finished to completion. Thanks for the nudge in the right direction! Wishing you a very Happy New Year!!
Carmen
Yes, I have many bucket lists, quilting projects, health goals, travel, personal growth and giving back. Many things get accomplished, some don’t, but it has definitely helped me focus a bit. Happy, healthy New Year!
No bucket list
But lots of quilting dreams
