Christmas & Winter,  Pets

Almost Christmas

Can you believe Christmas 2017 is almost here?  I’ve done some simple decorating in my studio this year consisting of one little ruler tree.  :>)  Simple, yes, but isn’t it perfect for a sewing studio?  The tree is only 13″ from top to bottom.

There’s a reason my decorating is so simple this year…

His name’s Sylvester.

It’s his first Christmas, and he’s fascinated with everything!

He’s sure I’ve done this just for him.

Can you imagine Christmas through the eyes of an 8-month-old kitten?

One thing for sure…those eyes won’t be on any vintage mercury glass ornaments this year…

If he can see it with his eyes, his paws are sure to follow.  The only thing to guarantee broken ornaments would be to add a skinny gray kitten named Tweety to the mix.  I can’t be that crazy, can I?

You may have noticed we’ve updated our look.  We’re still finding things to fix, so if you find something missing, or something you don’t like, let me know.  We’ll be working behind the scenes for awhile.

Oh Anne I am jealous!  I miss my 20 year old Calliegirl and am looking forward to finding a new sweetie or two – I love Sylvester’s white button nose that I am sure leads him into all kinds of mischief with Tweety following close behind?  You’ll have a marvelous time keeping up with their antics.  The Ruler Christmas tree is the perfect “ornament” to decorate your sewing room – think of all the gifts you can pile up under it?  Have a merry & joyous Christmas and a new year filled with peace , health and love.

I have a new member too – a little black & white kitten named Tadpole. His mama kindly left him in my shed when he was less than three weeks old. He now rules the house and chases the other monsters (I mean cats) all over the house. Love the names you gave yours. Merry Christmas!

That is the same reason my tree has no ornaments on it – but mines is times 2 – I have 2 cats – thought for sure they would climb the tree so far so good

They are so cute! I used felt ornaments for my tree when my cats where still little. Now that they are older I can use my glass ornaments again. Merry Chiristmas to you and your (furry) family!

Love that ruler tree–so cute! How fun to have a new kitty in the mix–hopefully by the next holiday he won’t be so curious–lol!

I’m in love with Sylvester!!  And Tweety is pretty cute, too.  The great thing about mulitple cats is, what one doesn’t think of for mischief, the other  one does!!  Love you little tree.  It looks fairly )?) indestructible.  Merry Christmas!!

Hi Anne: Two kittens- not turtle doves! They are adorable and lots of fun to play with.
Really great ruler tree too. Love to you and your new family!

Congratulations, two new kitties!  They are adorable!  Where did you find the ruler tree.  I collect every thing with rulers on it.

Darling little tree!  I would be wary of bringing out the precious decorations too, with a kitten in the house.  Good, solid little wood tree, that’s the way to go :)  Merry Christmas, Anne!

I love your new kitties! Their names are so cute – as are they. We added two black kittens to our household in November. Their names are Klaus and Magnus. Our decorating is light this year too. We have a 3’ tree with cheap plastic ornaments and a naked but lit 6’ tree with 4 ornaments on the top. So far so good on no tree climbing. I’m sure if there were ornaments we’d be telling a different story. There has been rolling in the tree skirt and biting the branches.

That ruler tree is fabulous. I may have to steal the idea.Sylvester and Tweety are adorable. For us, of our two 7 1/2 year old kitties Samantha  would sit under the tree and be happy while Dainty would climb it before we even have it fully upright. So, no tree at all. Enjoy the season and your two cuties.

We have a new kitten too, and boy it’s been quite entertaining!  She loves to climb the tree and play with all of those dangling toys!  All of my glass ornaments stayed in boxes this year.

The ruler tree is adorable as is Sylvester!  I especially like that mustache!  He has a happy cat friendly home for sure!😻
My childhood black and white trimmed cat’s name was Mary and she had a pretty little blue-grey male kitten with a mustache.  They named him Mustache Mary.

So cute – both of them!  Yes, the magic of Christmas through kids and animal’s eyes!  Have a wonderful Christmas and New Years!

I agree with the other comments that both the tree and the cats are just adorable! Been missing your posts. I have a fairly new computer and wonder if they are going straight to the trash. I like the new look but I loved your pink 221. Is there a way to incorporate it into the header LOL Going through patterns the other day I came across Henrietta!

Your kittens are adorable. Christmas time is for them the best play-time of the year. It is fun fun to see them exploring the world with all the Christmas decorations.
    The updated look is beautiful.

What adorable kitties! My kitty, Polly, is 4 and she is playing with the decorations more this year than any other. I’d advise you to keep those vintage ornaments away for quite some time! Hahaha! Merry Christmas!

Yay! New kittens!  We’re in the same boat with 2 new kitties. Merry Christmas to you all ❤  Sylvester and Tweety could not be cuter.

  • Anita

He’s adorable!  It must be something about black and white kittens though, my sons girlfriend can’t keep a tree up because he jumps in it 😂

I just LOVE that little ruler tree. What a great idea. And what superlatives can I use about those adorable kittens. Many years of kitty love ahead.  Heidi Gorthy

I already Love Sylvester! And Tweety! December 27th marks our 1 yr loss of our precious ragdoll, Sissy, who we enjoyed for 14 years.  We are animal lovers and our hearts have room to love more.  Thank you for sharing your furry loved one’s stories. No sewing room is complete without a little fur! Merry Christmas to you and yours, Anne. Hugs!
