Christmas & Winter,  Projects,  Sugar Plum Stocking Treats

we have winners!

I wish I could make everyone who entered the Moda/Bunny Hill contest a winner!  There were so many cute stockings it was really hard to choose! And because there were so many great entries I added four runner-ups for a total of seven winners!  I’ll be shipping prizes out all week!

So here we go, are you ready?  First place winner is Shannon Cogswell from Fullerton, California

Shannon entered way more blocks than this one, each as special as the one before.  I selected her mouse not only for its cuteness but also because it’s going to look so ADORABLE in our surprise mystery quilt!   We’re re-making her block using embroidery and applique.  If you’re joining me on the mystery journey coming up soon, Shannon will be featured in block number four!

Second place goes to Julie Zaloudek from Humble, Texas

Julie also submitted multiple blocks,  but when you see how her gingerbread man fits into my mystery quilt you’ll know why I picked it!   Julie will be featured in block number eight!  Thank you, Julie, for such a cute block!

Third Place goes to Lori Weigel of Newport Beach, California

Lori Weigel is our third place, winner.  Yes, she also submitted multiple blocks but she made it a little harder to choose.  This little snowman will be featured in block number eleven!  Lori used my ornament fabric and fussy cut that little angel.  What ornament will you use if you join me?

As the entries came in there were some blocks that I knew were works of art! Each one made me smile!  These ladies not only have the talent they also have creativity.   To duplicate these blocks so that all of you could make them in a weeks time would be difficult, but I knew they needed to be declared winners!  So Lynn, Kathleen, Martina and Nancy, congratulations on being a winner in my contest!  You’ll each get a quilt kit so you can join me on my sew along starting July 7th.  along with some designer rolls of Sugar Plum Christmas and Lily & Will Revisited.

I hope each of the winners features their own special block when they make the upcoming mystery quilt.  Who knows, you may each want to design enough blocks to do your own quilt!  Thank you to each and every one of you who entered!

Today I hand the reins over the Kathy Schmitz who will host the month of June for the Moda design contest!   Head on over to The Cutting Table Blog from Moda for Kathy Schmitz!

Back soon,

Anne

Congrats to the winners all the blocks are really adorable and amazing! I planned to make some stockings but appliqué is not my strongest site but I hope to change this with your sew-along!

I love them all! I know it had to be so hard to choose! My wonderful intentions of entering 3 stockings ended after I cut them out. They are all sitting on my sewing table. I have a very good reason for being distracted though! Our second grandchild was born a month early (doing just fine!) and our fourth son graduated from high school/2 yr college. So we had lots of excitement and events to attend!!

They are all so adorable…congrats to the winners! The blocks are all winners, aren’t they :) I’m looking fwd to seeing the sew along unfold, maybe I can even find time to fit in a block or two.

I would love it if you would do some blocks! Even if you can’t do a whole quilt you could frame them or make into a small pillow.
