Guess what day today is? It’s another “Applique All Day” day over on the Fat Quarter Shop blog! If you love applique but you don’t have “all day” to make something, block three is perfect for you! It’s raw edge applique! Just fuse and straight stitch on your machine (using Aurifil 80 wt thread of course). You can have this block finished in less that an hour.
I designed this block for Jan Patek’s Fern Hill fabric. It’s a 6″ finished block that’s perfect for this time of year. Think what you can do with this cute little block…use three to make a table runner, or six to make a quick and easy quilt. Fat Quarter Shop has the fabric, the 80 wt. thread and the free pattern! It’s on the Jolly Jabber Blog just for today!
Happy applique!

Great little block and some fun ideas for it! Thanks so much!!
So cute! I love doing raw edge applique when I just want to get get my project done. It’s especially pretty on this style of print with that sort of country, unfussy appeal. I can’t wait to get back to my sewing which is on hold as I’m immersed in baking, shopping etc. Merry Christmas, Anne :)
Very cute! I love the idea of a table runner…..
