Quilts

If you’re in paducah

If you’re lucky enough to be at the Paducah Quit Show this week, be sure and look for a kitty named Noel. She’s sweet and cute as can be. Don’t worry, she’s not lost, she has a wonderful home. She belongs to Pam Seaberg who has captured her in thread and stitched her on a quilt. You’ll find Noel in the quilt exhibits at Paducah! I call Pam my friend because we met through this blog and Bunny Hill, but she’s more than a friend. She’s an artist I look up to and I think you will too when you see her work.  If you go, be sure and take pictures for us, because neither Pam nor I can be at the show this week.

Have you ever seen anything so beautiful as Noel?  Well, Pam’s been entered in many quilt shows and who knows where you’ll find her next.  Here’s another one of her beauties to enjoy, she calls this one “The Sleeping Artist”:

The Sleeping Artist II

Someday I’m going to stand with Pam in front of one of her quilts and we’ll have our picture taken together.  I think we’ll both be grinning from ear to ear because of the excitment!

Now, here’s another one of my favorite pictures.  This was taken a few weeks ago when my son Doug and his family were here for a visit.  Babies are so brave when they hold Dad’s hand.  I wonder what Maya was thinking as that wave touched her toes? That’s a mighty big ocean for such a little girl, but when you’re 1-year-old, the world is yours to explore. I loved having Maya and Lily here for a few weeks.

Doug & Maya 2016-4824

Now that they’re back home in Germany, I’ve got some catching up to do.  I’ve fallen behind on my Splendid Sampler blocks, but hopefully I can catch up in just a few weekends.

If you’re doing the Splendid Sampler, I hope you’re enjoying it!  If you’re in Paducah look for Pat Sloan!  She’s 1/2 of The Splendid Sampler organizers and she’s teaching this week at Paducah.  Email me a picture of you and her together in Paducah holding a sampler block, You’ll be entered into my exclusive Bunny Hill contest.  You could win a basket of treats from Bunny Hill!  I’ll announce the winner and show your photo sometime next week.

Have a great week everyone.  Guess what’s shipping this week from Moda?  It’s Spooky Delights!

 Hugs,

Anne

Anne: so good to read your blog this month.
I have seen the stitched portraits of dogs too. Amazing!
I know how much the family visit meant to you with your sweet grand daughters.
My son named the ocean waves as we walked along the beach, “the water that chases me”. I tell that one to my grand children today when we visit the beach.
    Your Splendid is looking good!
Thinking of you this week as I am sewing up Winter Postcards for Cuties! I will be at Verna Mosquera’s retreat! Hugs!

Thanks and for posting Pam Seaberg’s work. Someday she will be recognized with a first place ribbon! She has been a good friend and has taught me so much that she has really raise the bar in my quilting adventure!

Your babies are so sweet. What a lovely picture of your son holding Maya’s hand at the beach. I know you miss them terribly. I hope your animal babies are doing well.
