It’s the kitty block!
It’s time for the kitty block on the Fat Quarter Shop Snapshots quilt along! “Here kitty kitty” will get you a surprising welcome at my house, so this block is the perfect one for me.
Oh wait, that’s the wrong picture! I was going to put this one in later when I told you what kitty inspired my block. Oh well, It’s better you know right up front.
This block was inspired by my Moocher’s cat. I know you’re saying “what a name for a cat”, but remember she’s one of a kind. You can read her story here. Moochers was in the studio with me this morning while I was watching Kimberly Jolly’s video on how to make this block. Kim happened to mention her in the video and Moochers’ got really excited! I told her not to get too excited because she didn’t say her name directly, but it was too late. It had already gone to her head. Of course Moochers missed the key words like “huge” and “scared me” but I’m not going to point that out to her. What she didn’t miss was that I didn’t give her a pink collar! I tried to make it up to her by promising to add some pearls.
She seemed to like that idea…
Or at least I think she did. Hard to tell with her.
Have a great time making your kitty block! Moochers sends her love.

Moocher’s is ADORABLE! I LOVE the expression on her face, like when you see an add and we can hear what the cat is thinking, I imagine her thinking ” since you didn’t put a pink bow on it I will have nothing to do with it!”. Give her a smooch from me. I think this is such a creative block, purrfect. TFS.

Oh, Moochers is just to adorable! She truly deserves her very own block. This could be my very most favorite block of all (although I love every one of them!!), but I am a little partial to the dog block and hope to make it look like my sweet little doggie. What we won’t do for our furry babies!

Moocher is very handsome. He looks sad in the last picture, is that because he knew the article was over and there were no more pictures? Love the block, but then there aren’t any blocks that I don’t love. Thanks for sharing.

Moochers looks very regal perched on top of that quilt!

Oh, love your cat – reminds me of our ‘Sebastian’ cat. Couldn’t say no to our daughter, when she brought him home with her from Vet school; but our dogs were fine with him – and ‘our’ cat ended up having a special place in my heart!!
Love your block and thank you for designing it!

Aww, Moochers looks just like my beloved CC (short for church cat) who I miss very much! She was a stray who stole our hearts. Thank you for making a gray kitty block.

You know how much I love my kitties. I was super excited for this block!! Can’t wait to make 4 of them, one representing each of my 4 cats! Give moochers a BIG hug from me please!!!

This is my favorite block in the whole quilt! And believe it or not I have a gray cat her name’s Lara (and a tiger cat named Merlin) and she’s beyond thrilled that she has her own block (but it’s not nice that she’s teasing poor Merlin because Kimberly missed to make a block for him, too;-) But I’ll change my cat a bit to make her more cat-like … let’s see how that works out.

What a darling block! It may be replacing the bicycle block as my new favorite :)
