Quilt Market

Quilt Market Favorites

Mr. Clover and I are smiling because he’s just told me that Clover is going to make a new craft iron.  This was back in 2013.

Mr. Clover

Well, I’ve been waiting and waiting and it’s finally coming true!  Clover is bringing back their Craft Iron with a new and updated look.  This is my “find” from Quilt Market.  The Clover Wedge Iron doesn’t ship until October but when it does, I think you’re going to want one for applique.   We’ll be taking pre-orders in August, when it’s closer to the shipping date.  It’s just in time to put on your wish list for Christmas. The new iron will retail at $49.99.

Visiting Weeks Dye Works booth at quilt market always inspires me.  I brought home some wonderful new colors and we’ll have a new bundle available very soon.  With names like Cantaloupe,  Artichoke, and Grapefruit who can resist?

If you were designing fabric would you still buy other designers fabrics?  My answer is a great big YES!  I can’t help falling in love with new fabrics and I’m always dreaming of the things I’m going to make with them ‘someday”.  So here you go…pictures of the designers and their fabrics that I purchased at Sample Spree.

Corey Yoder is a new Moda designer and I fell in love with her first fabric line called Prairie.  I’m not sure what I’m going to make with this yet, but I didn’t want to miss out.

If I were going to make something with a modern flair, I would choose fabric from Brigitte at Zen Chic.  She is my all time favorite modern designer!  I bought a bundle each of her blacks and neutrals knowing that someday I would make something with it for my family in Germany.  One of her fabrics even has a well known German poem so I know I can put it to good use.

And from my friend Brenda Riddle, comes her second line for Moda called Windermere.  This one definitively had to come home with me.   It’s sitting on the shelf right next to Ambleside, her first line for Moda.  These could easily cause a sewing frenzy one of these days.  (The photo is Brenda and her brother Scott, who we all got to finally meet at market.)

Don’t think I’d leave market without a bundle of my fabric, Kindred Spirits!  I’ll be telling you more about this line in a future post.  It’s already caused a sewing frenzy here in my studio.

And from Quilt Mania comes a new magazine called Simply Moderne!  It’s the sister magazine to Simply Vintage and it premiers in July.  This one is on my list because I can see some of these wonderful quilts done in shabby chic fabrics!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my quilt market favorite finds.
Have a happy week.  Hope you get lots of sewing done!

Oh all of those fabrics are gorgeous! There is just “something” about fabric isn’t there? Besides being just so beautiful, it has the promise of so many possibilities, so much potential. I think it just fuels the imagination.

And that iron – immediately added to the wish list!

Quilt Market just has to be the most fun! Thanks so much for sharing with us.
