Snapshots Quilt-Along

If there’s one thing I like to be involved in, it’s something that helps fight cancer.  When The Fat Quarter shop asked me to join the Snapshots Quilt Along benefiting St. Jude’s I said yes, yes, yes!  Moda Fabrics is one of the sponsors so it’s off to a great start!   The blocks in this quilt are precious and make up such a cute, happy quilt.

On the 15th of each month you’ll find a FREE pattern to make this adorable quilt on the Fat Quarter Shop blog.  You’ll also find a link to donate any amount you’d like, to the St. Jude campaign each month.  100% of the donations will go to St. Jude.

Here’s the quilt we’ll be making!

The fabric I’m using is Fresh Air by American Jane.  I love the mix of colors in this fabric and it definitely has that “retro” feel.

Here’s my first block!  Isn’t it cute?

Block One Snapshots

I’m using Bella 9900 11 for my block background.  It’s the perfect color to go with Sandy’s fabric.  I love this cake block.  Can’t you see it made into a mini quilt that you can use for celebrating birthdays?

Oh what a wonderful quilt for a wonderful cause. I’m always in awe of St. Jude’s and what they do to help these children and their families.

I really don’t need another project at this point, but this is just way too cute and St. Jude’s is just too good a reason to start something new – oh well, what’s one more thing to add to the To Make List?

Your “cake” and fabric choice is wonderful!

    Thanks so much!

happy New Year Anne!mThis project is adorable. This is such a wonderful opportunity to help fight childhood cancer. For the last 6 months, my 11 year old nephew has been at war with bone cancer. he has been surrounded by the awesome people of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Hospitals like CHLA and St. Jude’s are blessing to all families involved. I am thrilled to take part in this Block of the month. for another easy peasy sewing project, please look into the Beads of Courage program. Little drawstring bags are needed for the kids to carry the beads they earn for all their procedures. it has been a great way to bust my stash. the instructions are on the Beads of Courage site. They will even send you free labels to attach to the front of each bag. Thank you Moda and Fat Quarter shop for helping in this war on childhood cancer. Looking forward to seeing all the photos!

This is so sweet and of course such an important cause. I love your fabric choice, American Jane really captures the vintage charm. I hope you’ll share your block with us each month!
