Prairie Cloth & “S is for Stitch”
I’ve added a new fabric to the website called Prairie Cloth. If you haven’t tried stitching, cross stitching, or wool applique on Prairie Cloth, you’re in for a treat! It’s a wonderful, slightly coarse cloth, that looks like linen and runs about half the price. It’s 100% cotton and comes in many different colors. Can you see the texture of it in the photos below?
I think you’ll like working with Prairie Cloth, but remember it ravels a bit. If you have a serger, just serge the edges before you start your project. You’ll find 6 colors of Prairie Cloth along with the Jumbo Ric Rac for my new patterns on our website..

Her book is filled with ideas for embroidery that would be perfect stitched up on this yummy fabric. Didn’t I use that prairie cloth years back? Looks familiar, but cannot get the back of the file cabinet to come forward. Yowie, am I getting older or what. I love your prairie cloth BTW, After viewing these younger gals webs I think it is time I went a tad brighter with my choices of fabrics. Guess that means I have to go stash shopping.

I’ve enjoyed working with wool applique on prairie cloth for many years, it is such an easy, comfortable fabric…a wonderful, tactile quality. This looks like a fun blog hop coming up, so many of my favorite bloggers :)
