Happy New Year!

We’re tiptoeing around today because Pumpkin did too much partying last night.

We really don’t want to wake him up.  He can be a bit cranky…

…when he hasn’t had his sleep.

I’m sure he’ll feel better later today.  After all, it’s the first day of 2013 and he’s probably dreaming of a gourmet dinner.

We eat black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day for good luck.  I hope Pumpkin likes them :>)

Do you have a favorite food that you eat every New Year’s Day?

Have a great day and Happy New Year!

Hugs,

Anne

Happy new to you and your family (including all fur kids). itotally missed new years. I was so sick Friday thru Tuesday. Never had it that bad before.

To start the new year please accept my heartfelt appreciation for all you do for the innocent fur kids. I lost a beagle this year and found I could truly wail and grieve no matter how many times I have been through this. But yup you guessed it. We have a new “leftover” we brought home from the humane society. He is 7.5yrs old and rely needed a home. Sine one of our beagles needed ashot update we had to wait a full week to pick him up. Fortunately they were open to accepting $100 a day to keep him off the adoption list. He’s a perfect fit. Now the world would be right if I could just have my lost fur kids back.

Also Thank You so very much for sharing your creativity with us. I know there must be some very stressful times and dreaded deadlines. Please know your talent is a gift to all of us, most of whom you will never meet.

Pumpkin is adorable and appears to be adjusting to a new indoor life very well. A lucky kitty, indeed, to have a safe, warm, loving life in the Sutton household.

Best wishes for a wonderful 2013.

    p.s. – I love your sofa, too!

Please do a whole post about Pumpkin’s latest status. He certainly looks at home in those pictures. Hope that means he’s figured out what a good thing he stumbled into – your family! I’m still waiting to see pictures of him amongst the Moda bundles in your studio! Hopefully Mooch won’t get her nose out of joint over it! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you and your family and all of your furry friends! So glad to have a Pumpkin update – he looks like a happy kitty safe and warm inside. I was sick this Christmas so didn’t make the normal fare for dinner. We had it tonight – Standing Rib Roast! My all-time favorite :) My daughter brought her kittens home for the holidays. One of them was going crazy for the smell of the roast. We had to hide every bit of it while we ate, plus the pan it roasted in. Our cats are too old to jump on countertops. I kinda forgot what it’s like when those rascals can interfere with food prep!

    Auhhhhh……..adorable.

Here in the south, we too eat black eye peas, and lot’s of collard greens! I love them.

Happy New Year and keep up the good work.

A very Happy New Year, Anne, to you and your loved ones!!
I love your Pumpkin pictures! He looks so cute, I wish I could cuddle him!
Our New Years Day brunch was sadly reduced this time to tea and some harmless biscuits, because my daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren as well as myself suffer from some form of a nasty and tenacious virus just now. But i couldn’t help myself: I had to make at least our traditional mince pies and eat some, of course, in spite of my rebellious intestines. Don’t regret it!

We also have black eyed peas for New Year’s! And brunch and bubbles while watching the Rose Parade!
Pumpkin looks like he is embracing the house cat routine :)
Happy New Year to you and your family!

Hello, I think its time for a cat to wake up! We try to have the black eye peas for luck, some greens, collard greens for lots of money and prosperity. Of course you have to have baked cornbread with all this.
Hope your new year is blessed. Can’t wait to see what you will share with us on your blog this year.

  • Pauline

I’ve heard that black eye peas bring you good luck. They are on the menu today. I made a large pot of home made chicken and rice soup and I always add lots of chicken, black eye peas, corn, tomatoes and peas. I’m hoping my luck is about to change. Wishing you and your family a wonderful New Year, full of good health, joy and happiness. Pauline

Black eyed peas and cabbage on New Year’s Day, except for this year. We did a big New Year’s dinner on Sunday in Louisiana. Hope I don’t put a hex on the whole year but not doing it today! Wishing you and yours a wonderful, joyful New Year! (I sure wish I could sleep as soundly as Pumpkin!)

  • Ronda

We always eat black eyed peas cabbage and hog jowls. I think they symbolize money health and Happiness for the new year, but I fear it only leads to weight gain.(lol) I am looking forward to a quilty new year. Working on my goals for 2013 and if it is Gods will they will be done! Happy New Year Anne!

Hey, looks just like my hubby this morning….would you like some photos? Kidding! But we did have our lovely traditional get together with old friends and had much to celebrate and be thankful for. We don’t make a huge New Year’s dinner, but we do have lots of good sustenance. Happy New Year, Anne, and may you and your loved ones enjoy good health.

  • Janet

I am wildly happy that Pumpkin’s still enjoying the inside kitty life in your home!

No NYD traditions here for food other than to cut back!

Happy happy 2013 to you and yours!

  • Satu

Happy New Year to you too, Anne! Weary party-goers seem to be everywhere… I laughed, when I saw Pumpkin, which looks very same as my little Fenix. with all his paws stretched.
