Cubby Shelf Storage
I’ve spent the weekend cleaning in the studio. When I’m busy working on new things organization gets away from me and after market it’s time to gather everything up once again and find a place for it. Cubby shelves are perfect for storage in a sewing room. They don’t use valuable floor space and they put things in site that you might use daily.
I purchased this shelf at Pottery Barn and I decided to fill it with my ribbon spools. I love it when I can see what I have in one place. For me (and probably quite a few of you) if it’s out of sight it’s out of mind. Now I can pick as needed and I’m reminded that I might not want to purchase any more of that beautiful blue ribbon for a while. :>) I can see this shelf being used to store thread, jars of buttons and endless things in the sewing room. Move it to the kitchen and you can store spices, cups, storage jars etc.
You may have seen pictures of this shelf before but this weekend I cleaned, polished and organized everything on it.
I bought this shelf on EBay and now it holds two of my collections: Salt & pepper shakers & beads and crystals.
While we were making “Lily” samples these were being used daily. It was wonderful being able to see everything at a glance so we could pick the ones we needed.
I’ve added another “cubby storage” in the studio that I just love. It’s my box of Kimono Silk Thread, all 80 colors in a portable thread case.

Anne: I love the pink shelf with all the little glass bottles. So sweet!!!!! You would love it here in Colorado. We have the cutest little wild bunny rabbits that are everywhere! Little and sweet, not like California rabbits. Of course Maggie thinks that they are there for her to chase! I think of you every time I see one.

OH to be organized!! we will be moving out in a month or so for a grand remodel. I have started going thru drawers and closets to start purging what I dont wAnt to pack and realize how UNorganized my house has become. Time to start anew! Thank you for having a sale! i was wanting to add Lily to my menagerie. This gives me a few days to see what other goodies I have to have from all the wonderful items at Bunny Hill! Have a wonderful fourth of July. This will be Cindybear the airedales first fourth and I am very concerned at how she will tolerate the noise. Tomorrow, I am hoping to machine applique my finished red and blue dresden plates on a white tablecloth I purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond for a pretty July 4th table. To calm my nerves over all this impending construction I have been taking solace in my scraps and cut blades out like crazy. i will try to get a photo on Flikr or to you upon completion!

Being an organization freak, I’m in love with all your organizing! Especially the shabby chic shelf unit and those salt shakers are to die for. Collecting things is another of my downfalls! But if they are being put to use that’s a “good thing”, right Martha? LOL

Mmm…organization…..your shelves look so pretty! The Pottery Barn one looks like it could hold FQs if they’re folded just right, or are the cubbies smaller than that? Still, I think I need one of those, and it’s always nice to have an excuse for a PB run (like I need an excuse)…. :).
