• The nicest people read my blog!

Thank you to each and everyone of you who read my blog.  You are some of the nicest people I know.  I’ve seen your kindness everyday when I get the mail.  The blocks for Jeaneane are wonderful and it amazes me to see them all! I need a bit more time to photograph the blocks and pull together the prize drawing but I’ll get it done soon!  Jeaneane is going to have so much fun looking at all of the blocks you’ve made!  I’ll be sharing them and announcing the prize winners very soon! As December races by, I’ve spent most of my time trying to finish my new Redwork…

  • Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Welcome to our Moda designer holiday blog hop!  You’ll be hopping around a bit this week visiting 4 to 5 blogs per day.  Each designer you visit will have a new sampler block and recipe for you.   Print them out on card stock, package them up and you’ve got a great little gift for yourself or a quilter friend!  You’ll find a PDF link for my block and recipe below: Flying Coaster Block from Bunny Hill! You’ll need just 3 fabrics 9″ x 22″ to make this block;  one dark, one medium and one light!  I’m crazy about pinwheels and stars so I combined them to give you this block!…

  • First week of December!

I started December off at our local hospital early on the morning of December 1st.  My husband had arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder because of a torn rotator cuff.  We had to arrive by 5:45AM. I had envisioned just “us” arriving at that time of the morning, but to my surprise there was a waiting room filled with patients all scheduled for different surgeries.  He was assigned a number and from that point on he could be tracked on the surgery tracker board in the waiting room.  It’s an amazing, color coded, automated system that lets you see where the patient is at all times…in the preop room, in surgery,…

  • A New House for Jeaneane!

Remember the photos of Jeaneane’s home after the Joplin tornado hit? Jeaneane’s family is rebuilding in the same location.   Where there was once devastation a new home now stands waiting for a brick front… And the inside of the home waits for paint, flooring and final touches… I can’t imagine how excited Jeaneane must be!  Her new home is so close to completion. One of her housewarming gifts will be a box filled with quilt blocks that you’ve made.   Here are a few of the blocks I’ve received so far… I think Jeaneane is going to be excited when she sees all the blocks and she’ll love them even more…

  • Love those weekends

I had a great weekend, how about you?  Did you get some time to yourself to do a few of those things on your list?  Have you started Christmas shopping yet? I’ve been neglecting my house for two months while I’ve worked on new patterns, so this weekend it got some well needed TLC.  Who knew cleaning up and putting things away could feel so good? I bought these wire baskets at Garnet Hill and I’m using them to store my wools.  I like to see everything I have so these baskets are perfect!   See the pastel wool bundles in the picture below?  I bought those bundles at Holly Hill…

  • Bunny Hill Meets Holly Hill!

What a weekend I had at Holly Hill Quilt Shoppe in West Linn, Oregon.  I’d move to Portland if I could, just to live near this shop!  When I walked in and saw the Bunny Hill section I couldn’t believe it.  What an incredible display! And then I walked over to the French General section… …and what to my wondering eyes should appear but a miniature sleigh and tiny reindeer… It’s my Night Before Christmas Quilt and tons of fabric! Upstairs is the most beautiful classroom ever! The classroom is large with lots of windows. I could be Snowbound here forever! …and then the classroom filled up with wonderful people…
