Quilts, scraps of fabric, bits of patterns, mine find (and claim) them all! I had a cat named Mooch, he was a stray that wormed his way into our house and hearts.
Well why wouldn’t he? You live to quilt just for him, don’t you? :)

Amen. As soon as i lay squares out to arrange..here come the cats who then do tazmanian dirvishes thru them and sent them flying. As soon as a layer of batting hits the backing to sandwhich a quilt, here they come and plop themselves in the middle. machine quilting is enough of a workout let alone when a cat is attached to some quadrant of the quilt. they do love to sit at my feet while I sew. this evening Elliot Cat went to heaven. dear Elliot who would love to inturrupt my sewing with gentle taps to my leg that would progress in force until he would stick a claw in my thigh. i am sure St. francis welcomed him tonight in spite of his terrorist activities. now I just have Stewart who at 15 still loves to knock my pin box and cup of water for the iron onto the floor. Cats love quilts and are therefore extremely SMART!
Mooch said that the quilt smelled like “Mom.” So sweet.
Awww that looks like a real snuggle bunny. My beagles like to fluff their way under my quilts while I do my handwork. Gotta love em!
LOL my two cats can’t WAIT for the sandwiching time….the only place I can lay out my quilts to baste them together is the living room floor…and they love nothing better to zoom out from the kitchen and sliiiiiiiiide on the quilt top….and then get under it. And then lie on it. And then sleep on it. And then it starts again.
That’s so funny. When we get up out of our seat on the couch or chair my dog steals our place instantly. When will this redwork pattern be available? I love redwork. I did the Rabbits Prefer Embroidery and I’m anxious to do this one.
How true!! If I even lay a piece of fabric on the bed or beside the machine, anything to do with my quilts Zeus is on and napping and doesn’t like to be moved.
My cats were the same way with my quilts….they also LOVED my chenille bedspread! And any time I brought home new fabrics, I would unfold them and pile them on the floor so my little Max could snuggle in :)
Same thing with big hairy dog….she thinks all the quilts belong to her! ;0

This is how I chose the name of my blog. No matter what, Gwendie thinks every quilt is hers! I put a small one on my bed that really is but she still seems to think she should have the big one.
You know Anne now that quilt is gonna be more special than ever, one of your memories of creating it will have a Mooch story attached, how precious. Just love those kittys, they have personality.

Yep, you’re right. I have 4 just like Mooch. They can be sleeping in another room, but if I lay a quilt or piece of fabric down and turn my back, they’re on it within a matter of seconds. They must have some kind of 6th sense about them.

hehe :D Yep! I’ve found that the only thing better than a quilt is a quilt in a box that you’re packing and leave open to go find something at the other end of the house. . .
The same holds true for my blocks on the ironing board. I try to deter Bella from going on the ironing board, you know, with the whole hot iron issue, but she insists on parking herself on my blocks =) My dog (a Lhasa) also will seek out any quilt I have on chairs, beds etc and position herself upon it like Miss Muffet on her Tuffet =)
Man, is that the truth! Teddy once tried to sit on my quilt while I was attaching the binding. Then when I made him get off, he started playing with the binding strip. If the binding on that quilt is straight, it’s a miracle. Mooch is a great cat name, by the way.
