A New House for Jeaneane!

Remember the photos of Jeaneane’s home after the Joplin tornado hit?

Jeaneane’s family is rebuilding in the same location.   Where there was once devastation a new home now stands waiting for a brick front…

And the inside of the home waits for paint, flooring and final touches…

I can’t imagine how excited Jeaneane must be!  Her new home is so close to completion.

One of her housewarming gifts will be a box filled with quilt blocks that you’ve made.   Here are a few of the blocks I’ve received so far…

I think Jeaneane is going to be excited when she sees all the blocks and she’ll love them even more knowing that they’re from such caring quilters.

If you haven’t made her a block yet you have until December 10th.   Send a 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ unfinished block to me.  You’ll find my address on my website.

If you’re having trouble making a 8 1/2″ unfinished block try a 12 1/2″ unfinished block.

For each block you make your name will be entered to win one of the following prizes…

1.  9″ x 12″ Artograph LightPad with Led Illumination.

or

2.  A fat eighth bundle of Moda Puzzle Pieces (100 fat eighths).

Someone’s going to win one of these prizes.  Just make Jeaneane a block and it could be you!

Have a great Monday everyone!  Back soon!

Hugs,

Anne

What a blessing – a new start – fresh and beautiful! After such heart breaking devestation I am so happy things are looking brighter and happier now.
I want to send a block and hope it will get there on time – getting a very late start.
Got to find your address… been searching for it – might need some help.
I get lost so easily (just ask my husband).
    Thanks,
    cathy

I’m so glad you said we could send 12.5 inch blocks………
I have 16 going in the mail today! It started off as a group quilt
but our group never finished this one and said I could donated it to Jeaneane.
Of course nothing can replace her own blocks and fabrics, but I
hope sewing these blocks together can give her an instant quilt :0).

Oh and it would be lovely to have that new fabric bundle too…….
thanks for the chance to win :0)

    Happy Sewing

I just mailed my block for Jeaneane. My offering is from “Strawberry Hill.” I love the blocks featured on your blog post. They are beautiful! Though I am a novice, I enjoyed making a block for a very special quilter. I am so happy Jeaneane’s house is coming along so quickly.

I have two blocks going in our mail tomorrow. I do hope that if they don’t get to you for the deadline you set to give her the blocks, that you will still be able to pass them on to her. I think it is great that you have organized this and I am sure Jeaneane will appreciate them.

So great to see such a transformation after such devastation, how wonderful for you all, hope you will be in for Christmas, Christchurch is just rebuilding after the earthquakes they have endured.
There is so much sadness but great joy too along with wonderful memories.
Good Luck Jeanane from New Zealand.

From horrible devastation, a new beginning and hopefully, many, many new happy memories – starting with a beautiful quilt by new friends that only wish Jeaneane and her family a future of joy!!! Quilters truly are a special bunch, aren’t they? I don’t have a quilt block to give to her (I’m waaaay to slow), but I do wish her all the happiness, peace and comfort in her new home and in the coming years ahead!

    Happy Holiday to all!

To Cheryl K: That darling bunny block is from Anne’s pattern A Tisket A Tasket, available in her online store.

Anne, it’s so great to see that Jeanine’s new house is nearing completion. It looks like they can be moved in for Christmas! I’m sure she will be so pleased with all the beautiful blocks so lovingly made by your readers :)
