Henrietta Updates & Class

Wow, some of you are working fast on the Henrietta quilt. You already have your backgrounds pieced! I’m really amazed! For the rest of you please remember the general instructions are just that…general. You’ll get the exact cutting directions every month with each block. Don’t feel like you need all the backgrounds pieced at once. You can do them as you go along.

Because some of you are such super fast quilters we’ve caught 3 mistakes in the General Directions for Henrietta Whiskers. Henrietta is so glad you took the time to email me! She’s driving me crazy because every time she sees an email with her name in it she gets really excited! I’ve got to get her out of the studio!

If you’d like a corrected copy of the General Instructions just click on “free” from this blog or my website. If you’d like to update the ones you have here are the corrections:

Page Three

Sku # 2673 18 add two 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares

Sku #2676 11 under Top & Bottom applique strip: add one more 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ square for a total of 5 (one is for block five)

Sku #2052 13: should be 2 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ (not 10 1/2″)

Page Four

Change bottom left corner strip to 2 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ (not 2 1/2″ x 10 1/2″)

Have clicked on block 6 but nothing comes up except a larger picture. Where is the download pdf file located please? Each of the other 5 blocks the pdf was fine.

Well, this week I finished my husband’s quilt for his birthday, Feb. 27. I’m terribly slow. (-: I finished block 3 tonight, but I haven’t done any applique yet. I’m trying to decide between regular material or wool or both. I’ve been looking at the wonderful photos to help me make up my mind. oh, well spring break is almost over and I need to grade more papers so I can start on report cards for next week… once I’m through with that I’ll start on the applique. Happy sewing.

I would love to have this iron! I’ve never seen an iron like it and I don’t think anyone else makes one like it! My grandson just recently scorched my ironing board cover when he laid the iron face down on it. It wouldn’t have happened with this iron! Since I have several friends and 9 children occasionally sewing with me..this iron would be perfect! No tipping, no dripping, great detailer for sleeves, and cuffs, I Love it!

I would love one of these irons. The carpet in my sewing room is very thick (that’s another topic entirely), and I am always worried about my iron tipping over and falling off my ironing board.

My sister sent your new design to my mother who is staying with me for a while. She loves your designs. Thank you for allowing us to print them off. She thinks I could use a 2nd iron one for the laundry room and one for the craft room where she is working on a flannel log cabin

I would be beyond happy to win the iron. I went to the website and was blown away with what that iron can do. I quilt as well as being one of those old fashion-type people that still iron most everything. What a gift to have an iron that actually helped do the work. oh how I love Henrietta…We have a Henrietta outside our window ,she is just a small squirel packed with energy(lot more than me) and we had named her that cuz she was so cute and thennnnnnnnnn when I saw your Henrietta I just knew I had to make her..thanks for Henrietta .would love to have that beautiful iron, wow could I speed along then.thanks a million and have a great day,,,,,,,

Love your patterns and the bunnies too!
The lavendar sachets are a great idea. I made a lot of balsam pillows at Christmas time and may have to try a few of those. Of course, with a new iron, the project would go a lot smoother. And since my husband has never liked an iron he’s met and since he does do his own ironing, two of us would be happy!

Thanks so much for your BOM patterns. I discovered Snowbound in mid Dec and was able to download all the patterns before sweet Henrietta appeared. While literally snowbound at home in Atlanta during last week’s freak snowstorm, I was able to complete the whole Snowbound quilt top (minus borders) and Henrietta Whiskers block one. All hand appliqued. Sometimes snowstorms can be so much fun!!

Anne, will there be waffle fabric and pre-quited fabric both in the new yellow in the next fabric release? I love the yellow and it is so perfect for gender neutral gifts!

Even though I always print and save the gorgeous Bunny Hill BOMs each year, I have to admit this is the first one where I’m actually determined to keep up each month. And I already have all my backgrounds cut and, as much as possible at this point, pieced. I’m about halfway done on the applique for Block One, too.
