Christmas & Winter,  Quilts

Snowbound Block Eight!

Block eight is here!   Another month has gone by and now Mr. August is arriving in a wagon.  As you can see my “Snowbound” is quilted and ready for Christmas!  Yours will be too in no time at all! I hope you’ve been working on your Irish Chain blocks and assembling your quilt by rows so you can see it coming together!

Tell me where the year has gone?  Did you notice it flying by?  Only four more snowbound blocks left, can you believe it?

We’ll be decorating for Christmas before you know it!

If you received my newsletter this morning you know it’s “I Love My Pet” month at Bunny Hill!  Email or send me a picture of your pet and you’ll be entered in the drawing to win this basket full of goodies!  Email your photos to info@bunnyhilldesigns.com .

Here at Bunny Hill we are surrounded by pets as most of you know!

Bitsy is back to normal, her stitches are healing fine, and she even wants to play.  But she still won’t walk.  It’s not that she can’t walk, she can walk just fine, she’s just refusing to.

Can you believe it?  Just look at this face!

Or this one with her ears up.

Can this be the face of a spoiled smart dog?

She has a stub of a tail that she wags at just the right moment.  She makes sure you’re looking first.

Chelsea’s getting worried that you might forget how “cute” she is with all this attention going to Bitsy.  She wanted a few of her pictures in the blog post

And Mooch?  She’s not worried a bit.  After all, she’s a cat!

So love your pet and show me how cute they are!  You might see them on my blog!  How fun is that?

And now for the next hint you’ve been waiting for…

Hints to help you guess my Fall Market Block of the month theme!

1.   Christmas with some pieced blocks

2.  A little bit of snow.  White snow NOT pink snow.

Have a great day everyone!

Back soon,

Hugs,

Anne

Maybe the new design will be kids making snowmen, Christmas trees, lights, etc. Outdoor stuff with pieced blocks scattered about. Toys too. Sleds, skates, skis. Fun!

Your animals are all very sweet, I will try and sent you a picture of my Zeus. He is very attached to me and I to him, my kids got him for me when I was going through breast cancer and he has hardly left my side since . He just loves quilting and he has a special person that comes and stays with him if we go away.. Love the August Snowman. Blessings sandra

I just sent you pictures of my two kittens, Fluffy and Tater Tot. I am wondering if your quilt theme is snow angels or snow kittens???

  • Marcia W.

Six blocks with flying geese, a (Kona?) solid snow fabric, and a pink Christmas fabric (like Kate Spain’s?). This would work for a 6 month block in time for Christmas in July next year.

  • Jan Richards

We are petless after 41 years of pets. When we retired 4 years ago, our last cat had just died at 22 years of age and we decided to not get another because we are gone for 3 or more months each winter. We still miss having our kitties and will get another pet when we no longer leave for months at a time. Love reading about your pets….they are so dear. A guess for the new block of the month for market…pets perhaps or angels??

  • Monica

I sent you pictures of our “spice kids”. We love them all so much, so I can appreciate your love of Bitsy, Chelsea and Mooch. They are too funny that they get jealous of each other and any attention they might be getting in excess from their “parents”, just like kids! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the new BOM. Love the snowman in the wagon..very cute! Also, I love the pics of your animals that you include in your posts. They are sweet and adorable :-)

  • Amy Roth

Snowball blocks, maybe? Hmm. Maybe too obvious. I’ll have to give it some thought and post again. Maybe the next clue will help. Love your snowmen! They’re my favorite kind . . . the ones you don’t have to have snow to make!

  • Jackie R.

Oh Anne! I feel I SHOULD know the theme of this BOM, like it’s just on the cusp of the brain & on the pathway to the fingers….maybe a furkid (LOVED your above furkid photos!) critter christmas as the applique, and christmas trees, houses/towns/stars as the pieced?
I, too, am not set up to upload photos to the computer…I wish I could for I have sooooo many adorable pics of our furkids. I’ll look into it. We’re now down to 2 dogs/1 cat…our 17+ cat softly walked over her Rainbow Bridge last week. Love every bitty part of every one of them.

Anne, that bottom photo of Chelsea w/ the stuffed pup is unbelievable! Easy to see where you get your inspiration from for so many of your projects. So glad to hear that Bitsy is better…even if she still won’t walk. But I agree, who could say no to that little face?
As for your new Christmas quilt, I’m not finished guessing…have to give it some more thought :-)

Your pets are soo cute!! I enjoy hearing all about them. Dogs just know what they want and what they dont want. So walking is not what she wants to do. I have a 11 yr old chocolate toy poodle and we carry her around when she just dosent want walk on our walks, and just hold her when she is in need of extra babying. I realy love reading your blog. My favorite color is pink and I just love seeing all your pink!! I cant wait to see what you have planned next. Have a happy day!! :o)

Anne, Bitsy, Chelsea and Mooch are just adorable. That picture of Chelsea curled up in her bed asleep…oh that tugs at my heart strings, too cute. Then there’s Mooch…I love cats so much. Hubby is allergic so we don’t have any but they are so easy going and content being rulers of their domain. I miss having cats around.
As for Bitsy, well, I know that first look well, our Sadie (who I told you about in a long (sorry) email, has that look down perfect and she uses it to her very best advantage, LOL. She also has just a little stump, about 1″ tail that she too waits till she know you’ll see it and then just does a little ‘tick tock’ thing with it. Do you think perhaps she and Bitsy have taken the same “Techniques for getting what you want from your Humans” class?
I’m so glad Bitsy is feeling better, even though she still wants to be carried around. Was her pain and initial refusal to walk connected to the problems she had with her bottom?
Okay, now another guess on the theme of your quilt. A little snow huh? That makes me think of window shopping in the snow at Christmas time, before the age of Malls and indoor shopping. Window shopping in Tiny Town, oh, that would be so fun! Stopping to make ‘Snow Angels’ along the way! So many possibilities but whatever it is, I know it is going to be wonderful.

The fall market BOM may be the quilters 12 days of Christmas. The other blocks are secret now but the 6th day will be… 6 pieced blocks.

I emailed you pics of my fur babies. Our pets sure know how to train us, don’t they? (And no, we don’t train them, they train us!)

  • Cindy

Your fur babies are so adorable!! Isn’t funny how these little creatures are so very smart…I’m sure Bitsy is just wanting to have her mommy carry her around for just a little longer. :)

Oh how I wish I knew how to put photos onto the computer and how to send them. We have the most gorgeous pets – two golden retrievers, two black cats and one very special little, or maybe not so little ginger fluff ball of a cat called handsome Harry. I am home alone for the next week and so sadly there will be no pictures I’m afraid. I always enjoy seeing the pictures of your pets so much.

I just sent you the most ridiculous E-mail! I am so sorry it is so long but I hope you like it and I hope you like the pictures of my animals. I forgot to let you know the picture of the beagle is my friend’s dog Lily but she was helping me make my first quilt ever for my husband so I thought it was appropriate.
