Welcome To Our Family

“Welcome to our family”!  Those are THE most wonderful words you can ever hear at a quilt market and the owner of the boots you saw in the last picture said them to me!  Me!!!  The boots came all the way from Dallas of course and belong to Mr. Mark Dunn, the President and owner of Moda Fabrics!

And those cute little black sandals belong to Cheryl Freydberg, the Design Director of Moda Fabrics!

Moda is amazing, the people are so warm and friendly, and the company?  Well, we all love Moda Fabric don’t we?

If you’d like to know more about how Moda operates you can watch this  video that tells you all about it!  Just click here and you’ll be amazed!

I was surrounded by the most talented designers.  Moda designers who have created all the lines we’ve come to love.  To say I was in heaven would be an understatement!

Here are just a few of the booths!

Right across from me was the talented Kathy Schmitz. I watched her hand draw a design on the floor of her booth.  She got down on the floor and drew! You can see a bit of it in the photo.

And the wonderful Lynne Hagmeier from Kansas Troubles!  She is as warm and friendly as she is talented!

And the other shoes in the photo from yesterday belong the the beautiful, sweet Edyta from Laundry Basket Quilts!

And the ever famous sister team Minnick & Simpson.  Enlarge this picture and take a look at the applique quilt on the right. It’s adorable!

Of course every time I walked by Me & My Sister’s booth it was busy.  I finally just took a picture, customers and all!

I wasn’t the only new Moda designer at this market.  Lisel from Oliver & S was a new designer too!  She has the cutest fabric line called “City Weekend” and it includes some of the most beautiful interlock knits for clothing!

And what would Moda be without Joanna and Camille?

I managed to get this photo of Camille taking a picture of Joanna and Eric in the Fig Tree booth. Both Camille and Joanna are as pretty as their fabric lines!

And Karla from Sweet Water, oh how I love their fabric!

I missed a few Moda designer booths, but hopefully I can get them in the next few day to share with you.  Somewhere I have a photo of me and the oh so lovely Kate Spain!

And…

Next post I’ll tell you all about my new Fabric Line “Lily & Will”!

Hugs everyone!

Anne

Quilt Market Spring 2010

So many things happen in the three days of quilt market it’s impossible to capture it all.   After hundreds of pictures, hugs, handshakes, laughs, late nights, hard work and just pure fun it all becomes a bit of a blur combined into pure joy and so many blessings.

Minneapolis you were charming!  You greeted us with open arms and it was delightful to visit your beautiful city.   The skyline at night was breathtaking.  I never had my camera with me at night so I’ll have to see if I can find a photo from someone else.  Looking up at the night sky, surrounded by the most beautiful tall buildings was incredible!

Here’s the view from my hotel room window.  Downtown USA during the day, but at night Minneapolis puts on a show like no other!  The restaurants were wonderful!  We NEVER had a bad meal.  Thank you all who live there and make it such a pleasure to visit!

I always have something in the booth that I call my ” lucky charm”.  It’s usually a special trinket or something that I love and bring along. This time it was a beautiful set of vintage children’s dishes.  Katie, one of my blog readers sent these to me just before market!  They sat quietly in the background on top of the dresser, listening to stories, adding their charm and bonding with Bunny Hill.  Katie thank you for this special treasure.  These were truly my lucky charms!

On the second day of market, in the early afternoon, the show officials walk up and handed us a blue ribbon and plaque!  We won first place for best double booth! Here I am with a show official being photographed for the award.

Nancy Ritter and Anne Bryson ( of Cottons ‘n Wool fame) worked so hard to pull my booth together, the ribbon may have to travel between houses!  Go on over and leave a comment for Anne.  She hasn’t blogged in months.  Tell her you want to see HER photos of market.  I could hardly keep her out of the Primitive Gatherings booth and she was all over market taking pictures!   I saw her leaving  with a BAG full of wool and a bit of cotton too!  Ask her to post the picture of the STACK of wool!

For those of you who asked me to find out about the Clover Craft Irons, I caught the Clover executives in my booth.  Here are the men from Clover (I call the one on the left smiley because he is USUALLY smiling) along with Nireko from Lecien.  NO IRON YET!!!!  I think this is why he might not be smiling.  LOL!  I told him by they HAVE to have a new craft iron by the next market or else I would give all of you his email address.  Every person who appliques can then email him directly!   We need those irons! PLEASE CLOVER!!!!!  Yours are the best!  They are working on it, so keep your fingers crossed.  I forgot to tell him to make them in pink!

I’ll be back with more Lucky Charms from Market and my wonderful welcome into the Moda Family!  Speaking of Moda, do you know who these famous shoes belong to?

Hugs to each and everyone of you and if you’re from Minneapolis you get a double hug!

Anne

Oh the goings ons!

So who’s shoes are these?  I’ll give you a little hint.

Yep I’ve been to the Great Mall of America and I bought MORE shoes.  My feet were hurting and I had to!

But, I have serious shoe envy.  The little flower sandal are Barbara’s from Me & My Sister!

She walks around in the cutest little sandals and is so, so happy!

Me?  I have these three to choose from now!  Naot and Dansko.  Fitted by the Nordstrom shoe salesman who knew his feet stuff!

So I’m all happycomfy and so is Barbara in her cute little sandles.

So onto market;  We rented a large van on Wednesday and drove to Mary’s house in Buffalo.  Mary is the famous blogger Mary on Lake Pulaski!  She’s been doing some secret shopping for me finding props for my booth!  She lives on the most incredible lake and she and he husband have such a charming house!

Here’s a view of the lake!

And after a tour of the house after our van quickly went from this…

 To this…

And we said goodbye to Mary and Bob!

And drove back to the convention center to set up the Bunny Hill Booth.

We have cribs, a dresser and a baby room for Lily & Will!  They are sleeping soundly tonight.  I hope we do too!  I’ll report back as soon as I can…

A Few Things Going to Market

Did you think I’d be on that airplane right now?  Nope not until tomorrow at the early hour of 6:30 Pacific Time. Minneapolis here we come!

Just have to share a few new things before I leave!

My new fabric line comes with the most wonderful pre-quilted SOFT fabric!  I’ve used it for so many things! My friend Anne made this little pink jacket for our booth.  It’s just the sweetest! It’s a pattern from Oliver & S.  I parted with a few vintage glass buttons for the finishing touch.  It’s so adorable and you can see it in our booth, along with the little plaid skirt that goes with it!  The jacket is designed by Liesl from Oliver & S. She’s a new Moda designer too!  It’s going to be so exciting to see all the new fabric lines!

My friend Robin, who is the machine embroidery queen, made this banner for my booth!  It’s out of the same pre-quilted fabric. Isn’t it the greatest?

“Scooter Pie” is my newest petite pattern!  She’s going to market with me too and she’s so excited!  We’ll be selling Scooter Pies at Sample Spree along with the patterns.

I have lots of Scooter Pie’s so if you’re at Sample Spree you can pick out your favorite!

…and I’m even bringing her friend Allie!

We’ve made them out of so many fabrics, Fresh Cottons, French General, and Lily & Will, so get ready.  It will be hard to choose!

Bitty Owl is my newest pincushion.  She’s coming to market too!  She’s made out of wool of course, but I just couldn’t resist making her out of my fabric!  She works either way!

I’ll be listing new patterns today so be sure and check our web site later!  Brigette will be running Bunny Hill while I’m gone, so she’ll take good care of you!

More news!  Jeniffer at Shabby Fabrics has re-made Rabbits Prefer Chocolate in the new Astor Manor fabric line from Moda.  It looks almost exactly like the original!  If you didn’t get to make it when it first came out, you have another chance!  I just couldn’t believe it when I first saw it!  I can hardly tell them apart! It’s a new block of the month at Shabby Fabrics!

And last but not least for today, I got my sweetie Mooch kitty a pretty new collar and tag.  Just in case she escapes or something while I’m gone. It’s diamond studded.  Only the best for her!

I’ll be buying some treats at Sample Spree so we can have a giveaway when I get back!  Have a great week everyone!
