Ooh La La

Pleated satin ruffles by the yard!  Can you imagine?  Yards and yards of it arrived at Bunny Hill this week!  The poor driver in the brown truck may never be the same! The minute I saw the Moda box I was out the door to greet him!    How do I explain to my UPS driver that satin ruffles just make my day, that satin ruffles are elegant, sophisticated, and ooh la la what’s a girl to do?

I’m surrounded by the most beautiful trim you’ve ever seen in chocolate, pink, brown and blue!  Just look at these!  Your local quilt store can order these trims from Moda,  starting in May at International Quilt Market!  They are part of my fabric line, and you’re going to love them.  Just wait until you see what I’m doing with these pleated ruffles!

Here’s a little peak at some of what’s coming! You’ll be able to purchase these ruffles by the yard and use them for so many things. I’ll be sharing ideas with you!  Satin as only Moda can do.  I think you’re going to fall in love!  I’ll have a “ruffle” tutorial coming soon, and I’ll show you how easy it is to sew with!    Satin pleated ruffles in a quilt shop…”it’s a good thing”, right Martha?

Tres Elegant.

Be sure and check out myFlickr  group for Snowbound!  I love seeing what you’re doing so please post pictures as you go along!   If you haven’t started this quilt yet, there’s still time.  “Rural Jardin” from Moda Fabrics is shipping to stores right now!  You’ll be able to get the same fabrics I used in my Snowbound quilt, at your local quilt shop!  Thank you Moda!  You always make it fun for us!

You’ll find the snowman fabric I used in this quilt on my web site now!   It’s from Moda, and so, so cute!  It’s called falling snow.  Isn’t that perfect?  Tiny little snowflakes falling from the sky!   I’ll be adding more fabrics for Snowbound soon, so be sure and check back.

If you’d like to purchase a kit for “Snowbound” monthly, you can find it at Shabby Fabrics!   Enter the code SNOWBHD10 on checkout and receive a special discount for my blog readers!  The quantities are limited so be sure and order now.

We’ve got such a busy few weeks coming up at Bunny Hill.  We’re working a quilting miracle making so many quilts you just won’t believe it!  My Bunny team is moving so fast and we’ve got so many surprises coming!  I can’t wait to show you!

You’ll be seeing my new block of the month in May!  I worked on it while I was waiting for my own fabric to arrive!  I’m calling it Tiny Town!  You’ll be able to personalize this quilt to make it yours!  Coming soon!

Have a great day everyone!  Have fun with Snowbound.  So much more just around the corner!

Hugs,

Anne

Fresh Eggs?

So here’s some egg  trivia for you!  How do you tell if the eggs in your refrigerator are fresh?

Take the simple water test!

1.  Put the egg in a bowl with room temperature water.  Fill with enough water to cover the egg.

2.  If the egg sinks and rests horizontally, it’s very fresh.  If the larger end of the egg starts to rise, your egg is about one to two weeks old.  Still ok to eat.

3.  If the egg floats, throw it out!  It’s a “bad egg” so to speak.

These are Farm Fresh eggs that I know are about two weeks old.  I was wondering if they were ok to eat so I gave them the test.

Can you see the larger end standing up a bit?  I did this test with the fresh eggs we just bought at Safeway and the same exact thing happened.  The fresh eggs from Safeway might be about two weeks old before they make it to the stores.  Told you, egg trivia for what it’s worth.

Are you having family over for the holiday?  Do you decorate for Easter?  Tell me how your celebrate Easter or Passover.  We always have our grandkids over for the annual Easter egg hunt.  It’s predicted  to pour rain so we may be hunting for eggs inside!

Have a wonderful weekend!  I’ll be back on Monday with block four of Snowbound!
