Countdown with a little help from my best friends!

It’s countdown week at Bunny Hill.   Everything that we’ve been working on for the past six months has to be pulled together for market.   We’re getting ready for a photo shoot this week, booth poles have to be ordered, things come out of the garage for shipping, patterns have to be finished, barcodes assigned, and there’s printing to be done.   To say it is hectic is an understatement.

I have lists and more lists. It’s to the point where I can’t find my lists. Last minute sewing is still being done and we’re getting ready to graph out our booth.  Oh baby it’s crazy here!

In the middle of all this insanity my pets are the one thing that keep me sane!  No matter how crazy it gets, they are always there with a tail wag, a snuggle, or a little lick to let me know things are going to be OK.

This bassinet is waiting for a new skirt.  Chelsea thought it was pretty great.  We couldn’t resist, we put her in, she laid right down and made herself comfortable.  She really liked that Snuggle fabric from Moda!  Once the skirt is done and we start packing the bassinet, she’ll know that something’s up.

Bitsy’s by my side morning and night.  She knows something’s up but she’s not sure what.  She’s  looking at me with that look;  the one that says “what’s up mom”?  When the suitcases come out in a few weeks they’ll both know it’s happening again, mom’s leaving.  Funny how pets are in tune with us isn’t it?  Oh if I could only take them to market with me!

And to think the 5th of March May will be here soon!  It’s almost time for another “Snowbound” block and I think I forgot to post my last one on Flickr!  Oh my goodness we are busy!  I’ll catch up after market I promise.

If you’ve been patiently waiting for a “Snowbound” kit, we finally have them available on our web site!  The kit has all the fabric you’ll need for the quilt, including the backing.  We’ve even included the embellishement kit.  I have to say it’s pretty cute!  The only thing you’ll have to buy is the embroidery floss!

My own “Snowbound” quilt  is at the quilter’s this week and before I sent it off I took this picture.  It’s a sneak peek of the border just for my blog readers!

Since this week is so crazy here, I won’t have much time for posting.  It’s a good time for me to show you some wonderful quilts from “A Tisket, A Tasket”.  Wait until you see these cuties!  I’ll show you in my next post.

Hugs,

Anne

Getting Closer To Market!

You know it’s getting close to market when new products start showing up!  Look at what arrived at my door this week from Lecien!  “Seasons” from Cosmo!  A beautiful new line of variegated embroidery threads with so many pretty colors!

I think I’m in love!

The pinks alone are enough to make me happy!   The variegated look like so much fun!   I’m going to give these a try very soon.

Cosmo has three new colors they have added to the 2 strand multi-work floss;  redwork red, redwork blue, and redwork green.  So many of you have asked for a redwork red.  I can’t wait!

And if that isn’t enough excitement, EQ7 is coming!  If you use Electric Quilt be sure and ask your local quilt shop to order the upgrade for you.  There are 79 new features!

Oh Spring Market, I love the excitement!

I’ll be telling you all about our preparations soon!  Bunny Hill is getting ready for Spring Market too!

Hugs,

Anne

Spring Fever!

Sunny, warm, and beautiful.  That was our weather this weekend and I actually got outside for a bit!  Strange feeling since I’ve been in the studio for weeks.  Another storm is due on Tuesday and we may get some hail!  Hail in the middle of April!  Don’t know how the weatherman knows this in advance.

I love roses and every year I plant 5 or 6 more rose bushes.  It’s finally starting to pay off.  My roses are all starting to bloom, so if we get hail on Tuesday I hope it will be gentle.

A quick trip to our local  farmer’s market was called for.  They have the best bread!

 And veggies of course…

And they were selling orchids!  Beautiful orchids!

I may be able to grow roses, but every time I try with orchids, they never bloom again.  Any orchid advice out there?  If you think I should give it a try I’ll buy one next week.

My son was supposed to arrive from Germany today and of course his flight was cancelled.  I’m wondering how the airlines will ever catch up when they do start flying.  Mother Nature is amazing and definitely in control!

Have a great day everyone!

Hugs,

Anne

A Little Snuggle from Moda!

I put it off as along as I could.  Saved it for last.  I’ve heard so many stories about “Minky” and how hard it is to work with that I was dreading sewing on Snuggle.  But guess what?  It’s SEW easy!  Really!   I should have known Moda would do it right!

Cream Snuggle backed with my cream fabric!

I’m using Snuggle colors that look great with my new fabric line, and I’ve been snuggling all week!  It’s wonderful!  Snuggle gives you the soft, plush feeling without all the problems.   It’s wide, so I wondered how on earth I was going to cut it to the size I needed.  Onto the cutting table it went.  I doubled it and then doubled it again and cut through four layers at one time without any problem!  Four layers!  My rotary cutter loved it.  So does it make a mess?  Not much.  It only ravels on one cut end and I can live with that.  The other end and the sides hardly ravel at all.  Here’s what my cutting board looked like on the end that ravels. Not bad!

So the next time you’re in a quilt shop that carries Snuggle, pick up a yard or two.  I’ve made so many blankets this week using my satin (colorfast and washable), fabric and Snuggle I could open a store!  And remember that satin pleated trim?

It goes perfect on Snuggle Blankets.  What a treat and  “Sew” easy!

I’m onto pattern writing this week so hopefully you’ll be hearing a bit more from me.  I hate it when I’m so busy I can’t tweet, or blog.  I’ll be getting to all those emails waiting for answers this weekend.  TGIF!

Hugs,

Anne
