Photo Shoot
Since the photo shoot last week, and the sweet treats that arrived in the mail, my life has been turned upside down.
Quilter’s Home magazine was here to take photos of my house for an upcoming issue. NOT just the studio, but the whole house! They were everywhere and it took hours and hours. Luckily for me, the photography team were my good friends Gregory and Elena. They are wonderful to work with!
If you haven’t seen a photo shoot before, it’s amazing to watch. There are cords everywhere, lights all over, multiple tripods, not to mention the photographers doing their staging thing. Mooch wanted in every photo. At one point we had to lock her up just to keep her out of the pictures. It was hysterical. And then when I thought they couldn’t possibly take anymore pictures, they wanted pictures of me! I was so tired at the end of the day I just fell into bed. Mooch too!
You’ll be seeing the professional photos in Quilter’s Home so you’ll have to wait to be surprised. I think it’s going to be in the September issue, but I’m not sure yet. I’ll keep you posted.
While they were photographing I started thinking about how I don’t normally show my corner of the studio. This is really where I spend most of my time and maybe you need a peek. This is my favorite corner. It’s where I’m surrounded by pets and where I do most of my design work. Yes, it’s a bit messy, but has to be when I’m working!
I’m always at the computer, with Chelsea on one side, Mooch on the other and see the dog bed on the floor? That’s where Bitsy sleeps. Isn’t that the “Snowbound” quilt hanging over the chair? If you look really close you might get a peek at those treats that I got in the mail. Oh I am so bad!

Anne, how exciting! I love your space. Is that by chance a large Wacom tablet I see on your desk? I am dying to find someone who uses one.

I can’t believe you call that corner messy! It looks beautiful and creative to me. My sewing room has every horizontal surface piled high! My 30X 60 cutting table has a clear space of about 14 X 17 left to work on. I really must take everything out and put it back in the room in better order like they do on “Clean Sweep.” Except, of course, for the part where they make you get rid of 60% of your stuff! Never gonna happen with a quilter! Keep up the good work!

Cannot wait for the magazine – keep us posted. I cannot afford subscriptions to all of my fav mags – have to be choosey but that will be an issue I will buy!

Oh Anne, I am so excited. I just spent yesterday taking a couple of ladies from Monterey on a quilt shop hop and all the shops, including the Stitchin Post have Bunny Hill patterns. One of the gals has a license plate that says BNYLVR (bunny lover) when I told her about you blog she was so excited! You are amazing.

I’m thinking…. now I see why you needed a fridge… it’s the only way you could possibly get anything to eat because you stay in there for sooo long. Cute room…I’m transfering all my sewing, crafting… relaxing fun room into a room that is larger and has much more closet space…. soon I hope! We shall see how soon this happens… but in the mean time I can enjoy other peoples. I really like your picture frame bulitin boards and the windows are cute too… I’m thinking I will go with some sort of green walls… since all the rest in the house are and always have been yellow.
It will be fun to see all the pictures.

I am so jealous that you even have a studio. No one can believe that I sew and craft in a corner in my living room. I have boxes of fabrics in the bathroom. I rotary cut on a coffee table. I’ve quilted every quilt I’ve ever made.
But, I do have my two cats to keep my company, and mess it all up when they are tired of being ignored.

Oh your room is so pretty! Love the shade of yellow on the walls. It goes so well with all the pink. I never would have thought to put those two colors together! Thanks for sharing…I think I see the “treats” in the corner, but I’ll have to wait until later to find out for sure!

Okay, I had to click on the picture to ENLARGE it….I saw Chelsea to the left and Mooch to the right…scanning…scanning and THEN I SAW IT! You’re too hard on us….I see the stack of Moda jelly rolls just barely showing a glimpse to the right foreground of the picture. ;0
