Cherry Blossom Time

It’s cherry blossom time and the area I live in is in full bloom.  Mother nature is putting on a show!

Amazing how beautiful it is right now.

To think that in a few months these blossoms will be cherries.  People will come from all over to pick the sweet fruit.  The farmers will open fruit and vegetable stands, and fresh produce will be sold, picked fresh from the earth. 

Mother nature knows what to do.  She provides us with sweet, sweet treats.

The area I live in is new housing, surrounded by old farms. Farms with freshly ploughed rows of earth and beautiful rows of trees. It’s inspiring just to see it! 

My assistant Brigette,  knows most of the farmers in this area.  We’ve promised ourselves some field trips as the fruit grows and the fields ripen.  We’ll bring you with us!

Hope you’re all having a wonderful Sunday.  Can’t believe a week has gone by!  I loved watching Julie and Julia last week.  Loved it!  Meryl Streep deserves an award for best actress, she played the part so well.  A++ for Julie & Julia.  I loved reading all your comments about the movie.  Tell me what you think I should watch next!  I just ordered ”Love Happens”.  Have you seen it?

A Messy Business

This neat little stack of fabric…

Has become this…

My studio is a disaster.  There are fabric scraps all over, pieces on the floor, freezer paper rolls, pins and markers everywhere.  Believe it or not this is what I call designing.  It’s a state of controlled chaos.  I do it all at once; picking fabric, drawing the designs, writing the pattern, prepping the appliqué, choosing embellishments, and on and on.  Really, sometimes I think I’m nuts. 

The good news is this…

By the time this little mess gets into your hands it will look a whole lot better and I’ll have a clean studio. 

Today I’m going to watch Julia and Julia on DVD and work my way through this quilt.  Block by block, piece by piece.  I’m 2/3rds done!

The perfect collection: Bundle of Moda Bella

I love this fabric bundle of Moda Bella fat quarters.  Love it more than the See’s Candy I’m Chelsea’s giving away!  Moda Bella is a basic at Bunny Hill and one lucky winner is going to love adding it to their stash.  Think of all the things you can do with it! Imagine you’re sewing away and you just can’t find the right fabric.  Your stack of prints are too small, too large, too too.  So you turn to your new little bundle and ta da!  The perfect blender is a Moda Bella color!  And to think that these are only 16 of over 100 colors of Moda Bella!  You’ll notice that this bundle has four colors of pink!  Four pinks! 

While you’re picking your favorite color, you’ll be eating chocolates too!  Excuse me, but isn’t this heaven?  So are you ready?  Random Number Generator do your thing please…

My Funny Valentine

My mommy made me dress up,
for Valentine’s day today. 
I really didn’t want to,
but she made me anyway.

My tutu’s tight, the bows bug me,
and who knows about my crown,
I feel like a dog gone wrong
I may never live this down.

If Valentine’s Day was for the dogs,
I’d always get a treat,
and I wouldn’t have to dress up
or try and look so sweet.

But then I heard about my friends,
so at least I’m not alone,
their mommies made them dress up too,
I can almost hear them groan. 

I don’t think I can stand here
much longer for today
so take a peek at Bella,
and maybe Gibby wants to play.

And then come back to visit,
or you’ll miss my treat today.
I put some things together,
for a special give away!

Just leave a comment and tell me,
that you think I’m really cute,
and maybe I will pick your name
on Wednesday for the loot!
