Christmas & Winter

Christmas at Bunny Hill

The Christmas decorating started this weekend and of course, it involved a bunny. This little bunny sits among many other ornaments on my Christmas tree. He’s a bit like Peter Rabbit…a little different than all the rest but loved none the less.

Mooch took right to the tree skirt fabric and made herself at home!

Chelsea was busy burying bones under the ornaments waiting to be put on the tree. Who knows, maybe Santa will find it and bring her something special when he finds it!

I love an old-fashioned tree with a mixture of ornaments. Anything goes as long as it’s loved!

Little houses…

Tiny vintage mercury glass…

a felt kitty…

…and little whimsical reindeer… after all it’s Christmas! The more whimsy the merrier!

The dining room table is a little glitter town.

The living room table is simple and sweet. Still plenty of room for hot chocolate and cookies!

And this little snowman sits in a garland of berries.

Now you can see how I spent my weekend. I love simple decorating! Have you finished your decorating yet? My son’s German girlfriend says in Germany most people don’t put up a tree until Christmas Eve. How about you? (:

Hugs all!

Anne

I started decorating, my daughters snow globe collection now fills the wall unit. (This is probably their last year here as she’s looking for a house!) And I did the mantel with tree candles and some simple garland. No tree yet, this weekend. Oh and the lights are up including all around our deck so we can enjoy them every evening too!

It looks spectacular Anne! I love the reindeer! So very cute. And the little village on your dining table. I can’t imagine waiting until Christmas Eve. I love having a whole month to enjoy it. One of my favorite things, is to sit by the fire with the tree in view and read a good Christmas book. Happy Holidays! ooxx`jodi

    Lovely!

My tree goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving! Of course when you’ve got a 14ft tree it takes several days to get it just right!

Oh my gosh ~ is your house adorable no matter what the season?! I love your taste and colors through out your home. We’ll put our tree up this weekend after getting past a couple of BDs and our anniversary.
I need to edit what I’ve accumulated over 30 years time. Mine is also a very eclectic mix but there are the special ones that alway have their place, both on the tree and in my heart.

I convinced the college kids to decorate the tree the day after Thanksgiving…what a great idea that was! It is 9 ft. tall and I am only 5 ft. I love an eclectic collection of very special ornaments. My favorites are always birds. Your ornaments are adorable.I worked on my Snow Baby collection on top of the piano.

What lovely decorations! CUTE CUTE ornaments. I love the little house and the mercury glass pinecone but then the kitty! Ahhhhh.
Cute little town on your table too.
My parents used to put the tree up on Christmas Eve too. Well SANTA brought the tree – so NO tree until the kids were fast asleep. It is quite the excitment in the morning though. My dh and I did that ONCE! It is a LOT of work.

Good for you! Too many things happening all at once here. We have the tree up! But no decorations on it as of yet! Later today… hopefully! Your decorations are cute. We went and cut our tree this year… (as per the last 5-6 years or so) and came home this time with a bit more slender tree. So, I’m thinking less is better here!
    Enjoy your holidays.

I love to see others Christmas tree ornaments. They bring the story of their family to life! We usually put our trees up (I have 2)the day after Thanksgiving and usually take them down within two days after Christmas. Jingle Jingle!

Beautiful! I love whimsy. We put our tree up the first weekend in December. I want to enjoy it all month long. My mother’s father was from Austria. (I never knew him.) Mom said their tree went up on Christmas Eve when the children were in bed. They’d wake up on Christmas morning to a decorated tree and presents.

Hi Anne, Your decorations look beautiful. Your helpers are fabulous. We did our decorating on the Saturday immediately following Thanksgiving. Although I just finished outside yesterday. I put little Christmas trees every year in our window boxes to dress up our house.

Looks like you had a ton of fun-everything looks terrific! I have what we are going to put out for Christmas this year done. I didn’t go all out this year but it is still nice, and simple. We did get fresh garland from one of our big cedars up with lights around our front door, and lights on the house. Our treeis up and decorated and a little victorian town on the library table. Enjoy your week!
