OK, I admit it. This was from my grand-daughter’s birthday party. A slightly used clown but you get the idea right?
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about our friendship and what it really means to me. She’s been my friend through all my failures and success. She’s the one who is always there to laugh or cry with me, and even more, she’s the one who lifts me up when I need it.

I love Anne too, & in the glimpse I have gotten of the friendship that you share. . . it’s more like you are sisters. Very close sisters. (It’s what we all wish for.)
I sure hope that Alma & Barbara knew what a gem they had in their booth! As another Blackbird Designs fan – I am so in awe of all the Blackbird quilts that Anne has made! What a treasure!

Aw what a sweet post. Good friends are like gold. I have several that are like your friend Anne and I treasure them.
I posted my sweet little birdie pincushion all finished on my blog today. I’m very proud of her. Another darling project finished! Thank you Anne.

My best friend story: Anne, you’ve met Nikki! We’ve been friends for 20+ years. Some people dont’ “get it” as far as why we can be friends as other than quilting, we are quite different. We make it work – we finish sentences, we have the same sense of humor.
Here’s my funny story. Before I retired (we worked at the same school district office), the girls at work, also, didn’t understand how we got along so well. Nikki is rock and roll and I’m country. Need we say more. Every year we celebrate Eric Clapton’s birthday in April. Finally last year I was able to go to an Eric Clapton concert! This week Nikki took Eric birthday cupcakes into my old department to share and the girls were explaining to some of the new employees about our friendship and how odd it was for Miss Jean to actually go to an Eric Clapton concert. “Well, you know what they say about payback”, says Nikki. “I’ve had to shell out hard earned money because Miss Jean is making me go to a TRACE ADKINS concert next month!” She said they all just absolutely fell on the floor laughing!
I guess that’s what good friends do. Do things for the other person that is outside their comfort zone.
I’m glad you have someone like that, too.
