A Bowl of Cherries

If life were a bowl of cherries, I swear mine would be a bowl of plums. Not too far off but just enough to make you wonder. Do you ever feel like that? Right now I’m just shaking my head and trying to laugh. (:

We have a new house. A new house should = everything works. Not so, I guarantee you. For the next two weeks, I have the pleasure of having various workers painting ceilings and replacing hardwood floors. Did you know if you don’t put a hardwood floor down properly over cement it will actually come up? Who would have thought? Certainly not the men who originally laid the floor. And how can you forget to paint a ceiling? It’s pretty funny. I forget a lot of things, but if my job were painting, I don’t think I’d forget the ceiling!

I’m working away in my pink studio with chaos downstairs. Since they had to move all the furniture, I took pictures of all my bookshelves so I could remember how I arranged everything. That’s smarter than the average ceiling painter!

I’m off to puppy school with Chelsea…have to get out of the chaos. I’ll leave you wondering how this little hat will fit into an entire quilt. It really does, and it will have a button embellishment too! If only I could live in my studio life would be a bowl of cherries.

  • Becky - I love the little hat….cute! I do understand about the flooring. We had our hardwood floors refinished several years ago getting the house ready to sell…..the contractor told me he knew how to do the job!!! Yep, you guessed it! He actually ruined the floors and I had to have someone else come in and redo it all…..not to mention having the house REPAINTED because the original contractor had sloshed stain all over the walls. In fact, it was so bad that the new contractor asked me if I had done the floors!!! I told him absolutely not. I thought I could have done a better job than the other guy! Needless to say, he and I were NOT happy campers……
especially when I told him that I didn’t need his services anymore and he had the gall to ask for even MORE money!! Hopefully, everything will turn out better for you.:)ReplyCancel

  • Cindy Roberts - I’m so sorry about your situation. I thought something was out of whack when I didn’t see many posts from you! I had a similar situation when our contractor walked out on the job making a 6 month addition stretch out into a 3 year project. Seems there are a lot of bad contractor stories out there! Buy a large bowl of cherries, sit in your beautiful studio and eat the entire portion in solitude! Hang in there, Anne!ReplyCancel

  • Vicky - That cute block is a big tease for sure! Hopefully you won’t keep us hanging long! Hope you and Chelsea had a great day out of the chaos!ReplyCancel

  • gloria g. - Oh yes Anne, I too have not so good building experiences. I say I will never do it again!!!! Never say never….But love the little hat. Maybe a Sun Bonnet Bunny? Try to say that three or four times! :>) Anyway, enjoy your babies, and have some chocolate with your cherries and strawberries!
